Chapter 41 Full Cooperation with Vashtor
Chapter 41 Full Cooperation with Vashtor
Back in his private lounge on the Crimson Book, Li Wei locked the hatch, his mind instantly sinking to the third level, his soul entering the subspace in a flash.
As soon as Li Wei stepped into the subspace, his luminous white soul body trembled suddenly, and an uncontrollable surge of joy welled up from the depths of his soul, as if he had returned to his long-lost homeland.
"It seems that breaking through to become a formal wizard has indeed had a much better effect than I expected. I never thought I would become a darling of the warp."
Li Wei extended his translucent, white right hand, and the surging subspace turbulence before him gathered in his palm, transforming into silvery fish and fluttering birds...
But the next second, his face turned gloomy, and he crushed the blue giant bird that had materialized in his hand into scattered energy fragments.
He suddenly remembered that there were four beings in the subspace who could threaten him, and he lost interest in playing around.
He hated Tzeentch, one of the four Chaos Gods, who wanted to kill him.
After he became a full-fledged wizard, he hated everything that threatened his life.
He has always felt a sense of alienation from the Warhammer universe or the Witcher world, and has always had a "live and let live" attitude.
At the moment when he was almost buried alive by Brother Mao and turned into a pile of minced meat in the mine, the survival instinct etched deep in his soul surfaced.
He suddenly realized that living was the most important thing, and everything else was just affectation.
He thus fully embraced the subspace, achieved "resonance," and broke through to become a first-tier wizard.
"Being able to break through to become a formal wizard isn't necessarily a good thing!"
Li Wei murmured.
Just as he was about to make up his mind and finish dealing with the system problem, a deep, thunderous roar of steel came from afar.
Regaining his senses, Li Wei stared at a demonic warship that was rampaging through the turbulent currents of warp space.
This pitch-black demon warship was covered with rusted giant transmission gears and had three towering smokestacks billowing thick smoke, making it look like a steel furnace moving in the warp.
"Vashtor, you are indeed impressive. In just six months, you have transformed that golden age colony ship into a new demon factory."
A hint of approval flashed in Li Wei's eyes, and he nodded.
"Lord Li Wei, it's been a long time. Your glory still shines as brightly as the North Star."
Vashtor, dressed in a gray robe, emerged from the warship's hatch, strode forward, and bowed with one hand on his chest.
"Hmm." Li Wei nodded slightly.
"Please, sir!"
Vashtor led the way, showing Livy around this moving demon factory.
Upon entering the warship, Li Wei discovered that the once magnificent decorative crystal chandeliers and luxurious crew cabins of the colonial ship had been removed, leaving only the basic alloy load-bearing frame.
Every area has been transformed into rows of roaring assembly lines, and the demons remain numb and indifferent, locked to the workbench on the assembly lines, working diligently.
However, this time was different from the last. At the end of a production line, Li Wei did not find weapons such as bomb guns and chainsaw axes, but instead found a war machine that had just rolled off the production line.
Its entire body is covered in a thick mechanical shell, and its appearance is ferocious. At its core is just an ordinary demon, but after being forged and enchanted layer by layer through a standardized assembly line, its aura suddenly surges.
"This is the Demon Engine!" Seeing that Levi had shown interest, Vashtor took the initiative to introduce it, "The ultimate creation of the Demon Factory, a creation that perfectly blends demons and machines."
"Indeed excellent!" Levi carefully sensed the psionic fluctuations of the demon engine, nodded, and sincerely agreed with Vashtor's statement.
Then, he returned to the main topic, his expression becoming serious as he said:
"Have you finished creating the psionic shield that can completely block the perception of the Lord of Change?"
"Alright, sir," Vashtor nodded quickly, speaking with extreme confidence.
"Are you sure?" Li Wei raised an eyebrow.
"I'm sure!" Vashtor said, patting his chest.
Fearing that Li Wei wouldn't believe him, he added:
"I have already studied the four Chaos Gods. They are actually just representatives of their respective divine duties, or in a sense, they are just a collection. The demons under their command are also fragments in a sense, but they are too weak to be favored by the Chaos Origin."
"By dissecting a large number of the demons under Tzeentch's command, I have long since figured out the core logic of their perception."
"Is that so?" Li Wei smiled faintly. "Then why don't you mention that you yourself possess a portion of the mechanical creation authority of the Lord of All Changes, Lord Vashtor the Creator?"
"What?" Vashtor was taken aback, then immediately retorted, "Lord Levi, you can't speak carelessly. Be careful that the Lord of Changes doesn't sense it, or I'll be dead for sure."
Vashtor, fearing that Levi wouldn't believe him, went on to explain at length, until his tongue was practically tied in knots.
Seeing Vashtor's flustered and disoriented appearance, Li Wei knew he was right.
His eyes, which had been tinged with purple lines, returned to calm.
This ability to see through Vashtor's true nature is an exclusive ability he gained after breaking through to become a formal wizard.
Its function is simple: it can see through the essence of all things and clearly dissect the composition of anything.
"Let's go, Creator. We need to check your shielding device. As for your theft of the Sovereign's power, don't worry, I won't tell you."
Li Wei smiled faintly.
"...Hmm." Seeing that Levi didn't seem to be joking, Vashtor knew that he had given himself away. He could only respond dejectedly and then led the way into the depths of the ship.
Before long, they arrived at the depths of the ship, in a heavily guarded secret room surrounded by runic barriers.
In the center is a bizarre device, about the height of a person, made of blood and obsidian, surrounded by various twisted pipes, and on the ground is a huge pentagram magic circle.
Vashtor excitedly stroked the surface of the device, explaining as he did so:
"This took me a whole week of working overtime to create. Look how beautiful the runes are engraved and the energy conduits are."
Li Wei's expression changed slightly after he arrived at this place.
He used his psychic powers to carefully sense the situation, his face turning completely grim. He stepped forward, grabbed Vashtor by the neck, and said coldly:
"Vashtor, you should know that I am human."
"...I know, I know, sir..."
Vashtor felt the force on his neck gradually increase.
His face turned deathly pale as he struggled desperately, frantically begging for mercy incoherently. But he noticed that Li Wei's expression did not soften; instead, the flames in his eyes burned even more intensely, as if he truly intended to kill him.
His mind raced, he realized what was happening, and immediately shouted:
"My lord, the life forms and souls used by this device are nothing more than fallen beings who have long been corrupted by the warp; they cannot be considered true humans."
