Chapter 3 Flesh Mutation
Chapter 3 Flesh Mutation
The next morning.
Li Wei then immersed himself in the library within the pyramid of his own Fire Phoenix School, constantly flipping through the books containing psionic knowledge, which the system would scan and then put up for sale in the system store.
After watching the meeting between the Emperor and Magnus yesterday...
He then went straight back to his residence and sold the basic psionic knowledge of the Fire Phoenix School in his mind to the system store.
He was then surprised to find that this psionic knowledge, which he had completely disregarded, had actually sold for more than 800 hub points.
This is worth far more than the first-ring wizard scroll "Shadow Spear".
Li Wei was overjoyed and immediately made up his mind to scan, package, and sell all the psionic knowledge of the Fire Phoenix School in exchange for a large number of Hub Points.
This serves as my means to establish myself in this cruel universe.
Since arriving in the Warhammer universe, Levi has been keenly aware that this world is no less dangerous than the Wizarding World.
He must acquire power as soon as possible to ensure his own safety.
The library inside the Phoenix School pyramid is extremely grand, with its dome and columns made entirely of white marble, and the surface is engraved with the Phoenix School's fiery red phoenix emblem.
The circular bookshelves soared into the clouds, and the air was filled with the smell of old paper and the burning, sulfurous scent of psionic energy.
Li Wei, dressed in a deep red robe, stood in front of a towering bookshelf, rapidly flipping through a book titled "Basic Projection of the Vast Ocean." Seeing that the system had acquired it for twenty points, he casually stuffed the book back into the gap on the bookshelf in front of him.
Just as he was about to follow his usual habit and pick up the next heavy book, he heard footsteps behind him.
"Scholar Livy, excuse me."
Li Wei paused, stopped, and turned to look at the person who had spoken, who was walking slowly towards him.
The man wore a jackal mask, was dressed as a warrior, had an amber scarab badge on his chest, and a scimitar at his waist. He was bowing slightly in greeting.
Li Wei paused for a moment, recognizing the masked warrior's attire as that of a member of the Scarab Order.
Every member of the Scarab Order is a close bodyguard of the Archmage Magnus.
Could it be?
Magnus is looking for himself?
Although the original owner of this body was a core member of the Fire Phoenix School, he was at most a nobody on a daily basis.
He was basically unrelated to any decisions made by the Fire Phoenix School.
Magnus would never bypass Carlofis, the chief mage of the Phoenix School, to specifically seek out an ordinary scholar like him.
The jackal warrior seemed to sense Li Wei's confusion and then explained:
"The Archmage Magnus summoned all psionic scholars of the Philosopher level and above to his residence, the Pyramid of Futap, which naturally included the scholar Levy."
"OK."
Li Wei suppressed his doubts and accepted the summons.
He then followed the Jackal Warriors through layers of bookshelves to the first-floor hall, passing through the bronze archway of the Fire Phoenix School pyramid.
Following the white marble streets of Tizika, we finally arrived at the residence of Magnus, the Pyramid of Fatep.
The pyramid is made of shimmering glass and gleaming metal, and its surface reflects the streetscape, which is predominantly white marble, in real time.
Combined with the clear lake water surrounding it, it creates a magnificent and clear scene.
As soon as Li Wei approached the entrance to the Pyramid of Phaepe, he noticed a steady stream of scholars from the five major schools of thought arriving.
They each wore scholar's robes in colors representing their own school of thought, and gathered in twos and threes, exchanging greetings.
Even Li Wei had to force a smile and greet each of these philosophers and even those who had broken through to the next level and become psionic masters.
This is somewhat inconsistent with the original owner of this body's taciturn nature.
But he still has to work under Magnus for the time being, so he has to keep a low profile and try not to offend anyone, after all, harmony brings wealth.
Besides, showing a smile and being polite costs almost nothing.
While exchanging pleasantries with scholars from various schools of thought, Livy pondered why Magnus had summoned them.
He had already guessed what was going on.
That's flesh mutation!
The Curse of the Thousand Children!
Tzeentch, one of the four Warp Gods, set a trap for Magnus.
This was also the direct cause of Magnus's fall into chaos.
This was a thorny problem that neither Magnus nor the Emperor could solve.
Last night at midnight.
Li Wei's psychic intuition had already sensed the almost desperate "spiritual energy" filling the sky.
The mere thought of the word "spiritual energy" gave Li Wei a toothache. He truly didn't understand why Magnus liked to simply refer to the manifestation of spiritual energy outside the human body as "spiritual energy."
The "spiritual energy" contains the host's emotions and even fragments of memories.
After a moment's pause, Li Wei's thoughts returned to the scene he had witnessed the previous night.
He saw Magnus personally leading over a thousand crystal coffins into his residence, the Pyramid of Fortep.
He glanced at them from afar and saw that the transparent coffins contained tall Astartes dressed in scarlet power armor.
Because of the great distance and the dim light, he could not see clearly what had happened to the warriors who had conquered the vast starry sky for the empire.
But Li Wei's psychic perception revealed an almost hopeless "spiritual energy" filling the sky.
In the real universe, they use pain, confusion, sorrow and all other negative emotions to create a scene of hell on earth.
In the illusion formed by "spiritual energy," their physical bodies were all distorted.
It extends twisted tentacles.
It grows hard scales.
The bones no longer remained within the flesh and blood; they protruded out on their own, forming grotesque bone spurs...
Those were all bizarre phenomena of mutated flesh and blood.
Bringing his thoughts back, Li Wei had already passed through the long, dark passageway leading to the entrance of the Pyramid of Furtap.
Upon reaching the entrance to the first-floor lobby, Li Wei noticed that the guards had all been replaced by Imperial Guards clad in golden power armor.
Li Wei followed the surging crowd.
As he passed a member of the Imperial Guard, he glanced at the man's golden power armor, which gleamed as if it were brand new, with a striking double-headed eagle emblem engraved on the shoulder armor.
The more he looked, the more he felt that the tall imperial guard in front of him was dressed exactly like those netizens in his previous life had described—a giant yellow corncob.
He also noticed that the armor of the guard in front of him extended from the shoulder armor to the chest, and was engraved with a long string of inscriptions.
That was the name of this Imperial Guard, and also the glory of his life's battles.
He remembered that the Imperial Guards always liked to have their names and life's achievements engraved on their armor, word for word.
However, Li Wei's quick glance caught sight of the beginning of that ridiculously long name, which seemed to be the two characters "Amon".
"Amon?"
Li Wei sighed inwardly.
He knew that this "Ammon" was not Ammon, the servant under Magnus, but was he also Ammon, the guard who was entangled with the Thousand Sons?
Li Wei's thoughts began to drift away.
This was his first time getting up close to characters from the Warhammer universe stories from his previous life, and he was somewhat dazed.
