Even if this person has given us some benefits now, what if they're just trying to trick us into leaving?
"Have you forgotten? Even if this governor hasn't killed us during this time, who can guarantee that if something goes wrong, our entire community could be wiped out."
"Keep your voice down!" the third cult member nudged his companion with his elbow as they passed a dilapidated food distribution station.
"I heard that last time, a missionary from the neighborhood next door was arrested, and the court officials burned him alive in the square."
"The court's attitude is clear. How could the governor possibly dare to join our righteous faith? Go to the governor; he would never agree."
"Sigh," the first member of the cunning cult to speak let out a heavy sigh.
"Why do you think this is? We all worship the emperor, but they worship the emperor with two arms, while we worship the emperor with four arms."
What's the difference? It's just a slight difference in belief.
"Why are these guys so determined to wipe us out?"
"In the end, aren't we all following the emperor's orders?"
The elderly cultist at the head of the group suddenly stopped, a strange purple glint flashing in his cloudy eyes: "Don't you all feel... the wind is a bit off today?"
Everyone stopped in their tracks upon hearing this. Indeed, the air, usually filled with industrial fumes, was now permeated with a strange metallic smell.
In the distance, a rhythmic buzzing sound could be faintly heard, like some kind of precision machinery in operation.
"Perhaps the governor is working on some new project again," the young cultist shrugged dismissively. "I heard he's going to build some kind of 'recirculating water system' in Lower Nest..."
His words stopped abruptly.
At the end of the street, a row of fully armed figures marched toward them in perfect unison. The way those "people" moved was too precise; the distance of each step was exactly as expected.
Anyone who sees this army will exclaim in amazement, "This is simply an elite force!"
Chapter 31 Bloodbath: Not a Single Chicken Thief Survived
Since Zhou Qing had only taken over this stronghold for a short time, these cunning members of the sect naturally did not know that this army was under Zhou Qing's command.
At first, they just stared blankly at the army that was closing in on them.
The cunning elder leading the group had a bad feeling as he watched the troops advancing towards them.
"Something's not right..." The old cultist's throat tightened, his chapped lips trembling. "These soldiers' uniforms... I've never seen anything like them before..."
His cloudy eyes were fixed on the approaching army. The soldiers' steps were terrifyingly precise, each step as if measured with a ruler.
The elite troops could not possibly be the planetary governor's group; they are far less elite. The Astragalus might be more like that, but what are the Astragalus doing here?
Surely the new governor of the Greens can't be planning to come and wipe them out, right?
"Who...who are you?" The old cultist trembled and took a step back, his back already pressed against the mottled wall.
The soldier leading the group suddenly stopped, only five meters away from them. It was an extremely ordinary face, yet it carried an unsettling calm.
"According to Article 37 of the Human Purity Protection Act," the soldier's voice was frighteningly mild, "you are suspected of participating in genetic contamination activities. Please cooperate with the investigation."
What is all this?
Genetic pollution activities?
This sounded like utter nonsense to the members of these cunning cults; they didn't believe in such rubbish.
The young man who had originally planned to drag Zhou Qing into his cunning card-calling scheme suddenly jumped out, stood in front of the soldier, and shouted loudly.
"You're talking nonsense! What genetic pollution? How could we do such a thing? I can clearly see that it's you false gods trying to harm us true believers!"
The soldier leading the group stared expressionlessly at the excited young man, his deep blue pupils slightly contracting as he quickly completed a genetic scan of the humans in front of him.
"Target confirmed: Level 3 genetic contamination. Humane euthanasia is the only option. Only one person here has a chance of being saved," he calmly announced. "Execute the purification procedure."
Before the young man could react, he suddenly felt a chill in his chest.
He looked down and saw a bloody hole the size of a bowl that had appeared on his chest at some point, its edges so clean it looked as if it had been cut by the most precise instrument.
Immediately afterward, his body was burned to ashes while he was still conscious.
A massacre ensued. The cunning young men from the sect who had planned to work in China and North Korea were all killed, and the old man was also eliminated, leaving only one guy with only level two genetic pollution.
Those with genetic pollution levels higher than or equal to level 3 should be killed, while those with levels lower than or equal to level 1 or 2 can be treated.
This was the last bit of kindness Zhou Qing could offer from the Human Federation; there was nothing more he could do.
He was really poor.
If it were the Inquisition of the Human Empire, these people would be treated for anything beyond level one or two, and all those above level three would be killed.
In the eyes of the court, these people should have all been dealt with long ago.
It's an enormous waste to waste precious medical resources, equipment, and energy on treating such a small number of people.
The remaining young man from the cunning cult who could be saved was so frightened that he knelt on the ground, not daring to put up any resistance.
Two soldiers walked up to him, then reached out to help him up and said something.
"Citizen, you are safe now. We will take you to the gene hospital for treatment. You are lucky to have been given a chance to live, but your companions..."
"I'm sorry, we are unable to treat them."
The young man was being supported by the mechanical soldiers, his legs still trembling uncontrollably.
He looked around blankly; the once familiar streets had become a living hell.
Those neighbors and friends who lived with me day and night are now reduced to charred remains on the ground.
"Why...why..." His voice was hoarse beyond recognition, "We are all subjects of the Emperor..."
The mechanical soldier calmly observed him: "According to genetic testing, your level of contamination has not yet exceeded the critical threshold. Our medical technology can reverse your genetic mutation."
The soldier paused. "As for the others... unfortunately, they are no longer human."
"Although our medical technology can treat them, unfortunately we do not have enough resources."
So there's no other way; they had to sacrifice themselves for the continuation of the human race.
The mechanical soldiers expressed their apologies, and they also felt apologetic for being unable to treat the federal citizens, since insufficient resources meant having to abandon them. Such behavior was simply unacceptable.
These people could have been saved if they had the resources, but unfortunately they don't.
"But they are all good people. Everyone in our community is a good person. We stick together and help each other when someone is in trouble."
They were all good people, so why couldn't they live?
Someone answered his question. Some mechanical soldiers couldn't just reply to them directly, could they? Was it because the governor was too poor to cure him?
They simply took this person, who had lost all will to live, to the back to prepare to send him to the hospital for treatment.
These basic AI soldiers don't have many emotions.
They were able to appease and explain according to procedures and various countermeasures; the reason given was already the limit of what they could do.
This team is just one of the thousands of teams in this sect.
Zhou Qing's only goal for the entire Chicken Cult was to wipe them out completely; he didn't want a Zerg Hive fleet to appear while fighting the Greenskins.
He had no idea what he would face when the insects came.
He had no intention of giving up this planet, which he had acquired with great effort.
The necessary sacrifices are essential.
As a saying goes in the human empire, sacrifice is the cornerstone of the empire.
Over the next five days, the cunning community was engulfed in a massacre.
All members of the cunning cult with excessive genetic contamination were eliminated.
The pure-blooded insects, which they called angels, were all killed by Zhou Qing's bodyguard robots.
The entire cunning cult was wiped out in a bloodbath at that moment!
The cunning ones have developed very well. They have tens of millions of people on this planet, but only less than 10 of them are qualified to survive. It's truly a case of one in a hundred surviving.
Zhou Qing breathed a sigh of relief after the last pure-blooded sly and the genetically contaminated human were slaughtered.
At least from now on, he only needs to deal with the green-skinned food.
He doesn't need to deal with those insects.
Chapter 32: Forming an Army to Cleanse the Greenskins
The Chicken Cult has been dealt with, leaving only the Greenskins outside the city.
Once he gets rid of those green-skinned people, the planet will be completely in his hands, and he can finally start farming in peace, instead of having to worry about this and that like he does now.
However, the cunning cult inside was easy to deal with, but the greenskins outside were not so easy to deal with. At this moment, Zhou Qing was staring at the greenskins outside the city in disbelief.
These greenskins realized they couldn't break through, and for some reason, some of their outrageous members created some giant weapons.
At this moment, Zhou Qing was shocked as he watched the more than 40 giant combat weapons that emerged from the Green Army through his observation equipment.
This thing has no unified format or standard at all; it's more like a hodgepodge of combat weapons cobbled together.
However, their advantage lies in their sheer size and seemingly immense defensive capabilities; ordinary light guns can no longer eliminate those giant combat weapons with a single shot.
These colossal combat weapons look like giants, possessing powerful weapons and heavy armor.
The fact that the light spear couldn't take down these things with a single shot already speaks volumes. The fact that even the light spear couldn't eliminate them with a single shot is enough to demonstrate that their defenses are indeed incredibly strong.
Besides these, there are some units that are even larger than ordinary mechanical units, I think they are called super giants.
Compared to ordinary giants who could at least be dealt with by light spears, these super giants had much stronger defenses and more powerful counter-attacks.
They were equipped with heavy laser cannons, rocket launchers, and flamethrowers.
The appearance of so many giant combat units on the outskirts of the city made Zhou Qing feel somewhat troubled and puzzled as to how these things were moving.
Of course, it was only slightly troublesome. After all, for combat units like the Greenskins, he could simply use a psionic slap to flatten them.
But most importantly, as a scientist, when Zhou Qing saw something that didn't conform to science, his first instinct was to understand it and figure out what it was.
But every time he obtained those giant combat weapons from the Greenskins, he couldn't research them at all; they were just a pile of scrap metal.
It was like a kitten scratching at Zhou Qing, making him feel itchy inside.
"Reporting to the Governor, the Greenskins launched a total of 46 attacks today, deploying more than 60 giant combat weapons, but we destroyed them all in the end. We captured a total of 6. Please take a look."
