Chapter 139 139. Visitors from the Parallel Universe
"Oh my! It's so sweet!" Wanda exclaimed softly as she lay on a beach chair to Ji Yuan's left, her arms wrapped around Ji Yuan's arm.
Seeing Peter's somewhat embarrassed expression, the two of them couldn't help but smile like doting aunts.
Isn't that the significance of change? Unbeknownst to him, Ji Yuan had completely integrated into this big family.
To Ji Yuan's right, Natasha, wearing a black one-piece swimsuit, pulled down her sunglasses, glanced at Peter and Gwen not far away, and sighed, "Ah, youth."
After speaking, he put his sunglasses back on, enjoying the comfort of the sunlight on his face, and a smile unconsciously appeared on his lips.
Peter had never felt this way before. Although he had been intimate with Gwen before, none of them had stirred him like this moment. It was like a resonance of life, a rhythm deep within his soul.
He stiffly placed his hand on Gwen's shoulder and pulled her into his arms: "Don't be shy, Gwen, nobody's paying attention to us."
Upon hearing this, Gwen peeked to the side through her fingers and, sure enough, Ji Yuan and Wanda were chatting happily not far away, completely unaware of what was happening here.
Further away, Thor, Swallow, and Hulk were fighting over the fruit on the table, while Whitebeard in the air raised two beams of starlight, trying his best to cheer them on.
Further up in the coconut trees, Erica gracefully clung to the trunk, casually tossing coconuts down one after another, which Eddie and Coulson on the beach easily caught.
On the distant ocean waves, Stark's laughter grew clearer, rushing towards Pepper on the shore.
Everything seemed peaceful and beautiful; everyone was busy with their own things and didn't seem to notice the young couple.
Gwen then lowered her hands from her cheeks, relieved, and pinched her burning earlobes. She felt she had been very rude, but thankfully no one seemed to care.
Gwen rested her head on Peter's shoulder, and Peter rested his head on the top of Gwen's head. The two snuggled together, watching the rainbow appear in the sky as the giant waves crashed against them.
"Hahaha, I'm number one, Steve, are you even up to par?" Stark laughed as he stepped off the surfboard, not forgetting to mock Steve.
Steve chuckled and shook his head, stretching his arms above his head: "Alright, alright, you're the best. I'm hungry, time to eat."
"Haha, I finally beat you this time. As compensation, I'll let you taste Jarvis's top-notch cooking skills."
Stark chuckled smugly, took Pepper's hand, and whispered to his left wristwatch, "Jarvis, come cook."
"Yes, Mr. Stark," Jarvis replied curtly.
As soon as he finished speaking, a giant portal appeared in the air, from which all sorts of ingredients flew out, along with a dozen or so discs the size of heads.
As soon as the disc landed, it began to change at an astonishing speed. In just one minute, more than a dozen villas of different styles appeared on the beach.
Finally, Jarvis, wearing an apron, slowly walked out of the portal.
"How about it?" Stark proudly raised his head. "My nano villa is pretty good, isn't it? The main idea is that wherever you settle down, that's home."
"Defense systems, life support systems, water resource recycling systems, energy recycling systems—all kinds of systems are included. How about that? Stark's technology is truly world-class!"
"Mmm, you are number one in the world, we all agree. Let's eat first, I'm starving," Ji Yuan said dismissively.
He had already taken several bunches of grapes in one hand and handed them to Wanda and Natasha.
"Sigh!" Stark said with a pained expression. "I have nothing in common with a bunch of people who don't understand technology. Only Bruce can understand me."
"You're right... Hulk..." Stark slapped his forehead when he saw the Hulk with an innocent face and a green body, forgetting that it was Hulk who was in control of the body today, and this big guy didn't understand these things.
Oh well, if no one appreciates it, so be it. As long as I find it useful, that's enough.
He sat down on a chair to the side, poured himself a glass of red wine, and slowly sipped it.
Soon, the sizzling sound of oil heating up came from the hot iron plate, and the top-quality steak was being fully grilled on it, with an irresistible aroma wafting around the beach.
Meanwhile, a variety of seafood was grilling on the hot plate. These were fish and shellfish that Pietro caught while casting his magic, cooked right after they came out of the sea, emphasizing freshness.
The group ate meat and drank wine, their faces beaming with genuine smiles.
After finishing the last sip of his drink, Stark let out a heavy sigh and said with great enthusiasm, "You guys have no idea how humble the President of the United States was when he spoke to me. It's completely different from how he tried to force me to hand over the technology. He was like a grandson."
"Wasn't he supposed to step down?" Matt swallowed the beef in his mouth and asked. "By the way, what did he do? Why are you doing this to him?"
"Hmph." Stark smiled meaningfully. "He's done far more than that. He supported human experimentation, instigated conflict between nations, carried out terrorist attacks—he's done every imaginable evil deed. I could go on for three days and three nights."
"Oh, right, he also colluded with Kingpin."
"Kingpin?" Matt narrowed his eyes. He had sent his old rival to prison a few days ago. According to the crimes Kingpin had committed, he was sentenced to five thousand years in prison, I think. He would die alone in that prison controlled by Stark.
"Does he want to get involved in politics?"
Stark sighed, finding it somewhat unbelievable as well: "If it weren't for our affair, Kingpin would probably have become the mayor of New York City soon after, and if he had, well, you know what would have happened."
Matt's breath hitched. He had indeed seen this future before, where Kingpin became the mayor of New York City, wielding absolute power and becoming a protector of evil. He just never expected it to almost happen in this universe.
Just as everyone was furious about what the president had done, Ji Yuan gently tapped the table, and the room fell silent. He slowly said, "Jarvis, make another one. An old friend is coming over."
As soon as she finished speaking, ripples appeared in the void, and an orange-yellow portal slowly opened, from which the Ancient One, with a smile on her face, stepped out.
He glanced at Peter first, then turned his gaze to Ji Yuan: "I sensed fluctuations in the universe; a parallel universe has come to our universe."
Everyone present suddenly became serious. Was the moment to eliminate the abnormal timeline about to arrive?
Ji Yuan nodded and smiled, saying, "I felt that too, but this time her target has nothing to do with anyone else; her target is our little Peter."
"Her arrival might be a test for Peter, and probably for Gwen as well."
"Huh?" Peter looked bewildered.
Gwen, on the other hand, keenly noticed the word "she" in Ji Yuan's words. Could it be that someone from another universe came to steal her boyfriend?
