Mo Jiang disliked using gambling methods with such a high probability of failure.
Fortunately, his plan succeeded. Under the torture of electric shocks, he obtained the location of the Thousand Sons Tree Heart from the Great Witch Sage—that thing was located beneath the Six Burial Bodhisattva statue that Mo Jiang had destroyed.
Lifting the remaining statue of the Six Burial Bodhisattva, there is a space about 30 centimeters in length, width and height below the Mojiang statue, in which a tree heart and several booklets are placed.
Mo Jiang didn't stand on ceremony and took everything away.
Before leaving, seeing the unconscious Da Wuxian, Mo Jiang stopped and injected a stream of Nine Yang Internal Force into Da Wuxian's body.
This internal force will continue to cause damage within the Great Witch Sage's body, but it will not kill him instantly.
Even if the Great Witch Sage later uses other methods to expel the Nine Yang Internal Force, it will still take several months to recover.
Granny Yu specifically instructed that Dae-hyeon not to be killed. One reason was the legal issue: if Dae-hyeon died, the villagers would definitely call the police, which would lead to an investigation.
Granny Tang didn't want Nie Moli to get involved in this kind of thing.
The other is that the Great Witch Sage is the priest of the Six Burials Bodhisattva, and is the mouthpiece of the Burial Venerable. If he is killed, it will alarm the Six Burials Bodhisattva.
The Six Burials Bodhisattva forcibly intercepted the faith of the Goddess of a Thousand Children, causing the Goddess of Fertility, who originally occupied a certain area, to lose her faith. This is enough to show how powerful the Six Burials Bodhisattva was at that time.
Now that they are about to confront Lady Qianzi, it is inconvenient for them to clash with Bodhisattva Liuzang before dealing with the matter of the mark.
The Great Sage can be beaten, coerced, and tortured, but he cannot be killed by anyone other than a follower of the Six Burials Bodhisattva.
Once killed, the sleeping Six Burials Bodhisattva will surely awaken, making the situation even more difficult to resolve.
The Six Burials Bodhisattva, who has been worshipped here since the Tang Dynasty, possesses power far beyond what ordinary people can imagine, and is not someone that mortals can oppose.
Once outside the temple, Mo Jiang quickly closed the door, creating the illusion that the temple was empty.
Then he plunged into the forest, first tearing off the human skin mask from his face, and then his whole body made a popping sound like popping beans, and his figure gradually grew larger in the sound.
After a while, he returned to his original height from about 1.7 meters.
Before entering the village, Mojiang had already disguised himself.
You can't do bad things using your original identity and appearance, especially when this world involves all sorts of supernatural and terrifying methods.
The human skin mask was obtained from Hu Qingniu, and his body shape was also due to the bone-shrinking technique. He could guarantee that even if the Great Witch Sage woke up, he would never recognize him as the person who broke into the temple.
155. Oh no, we've been targeted by Zang Lao Liu.
After leaving the Six Burials Bodhisattva Temple, Mo Jiang did not rush to meet up with Granny Tang.
Instead, he first went into the mountains and forests, spraying himself with Six God Floral Water while flipping through the books he had brought from the temple.
Most villages in the countryside keep dogs. Although it's unclear how well these dogs are trained, if you don't want to be found because of your scent, you have to circle around the area a few times to cover up and disperse the smell.
While waiting, I opened the books hidden inside the temple. These books were handwritten, and four large characters were written crookedly on the cover: "The True Scripture of the Six Burials".
Turning to the first page, one finds a detailed account of the book's origins.
During the Tang Dynasty, Xuanzang, after completing his journey to the west, passed through Zangling Village on his way back to the capital. While resting in the village, he was reading scriptures and almost became possessed by a demon. He immediately rang a bell and chanted scriptures to clear his mind.
Later, when the Venerable Master Xuanzang examined the scriptures he had brought back, he discovered that only three of the nine collections of scriptures were genuine.
The other six collections are not Buddhist scriptures; they are suspected to be heretical texts from extinct Indian religions that have been mistakenly included. They are all demonic texts and should not be displayed in the world.
Upon seeing this, Mo Jiang was somewhat skeptical that the Six Treasures Demonic Scripture was genuine [accidentally mixed in].
The Venerable Master Xuanzang brought a total of nine collections of scriptures, six of which were demonic texts. The fact that two-thirds of the books were damaged cannot be explained by a simple "accident".
However, this part is described in vague terms, and it already dates back to the Tang Dynasty. Even if Mo Jiang could see that there was a problem, he wouldn't know exactly what the problem was.
This is just a handwritten copy by later generations, and it only uses the phrase "it is said" to describe what happened at the time, rather than actually seeing it on the spot.
The Venerable Master Xuanzang was in a hurry to return to the capital, so he handed the demonic scripture in his hand to the village chief of Zangling Village and instructed him to destroy it and not to keep it.
However, the village chief at the time not only ignored him, but also led the entire village to abandon the faith of the "Thousand Sons Tree" and convert to the "Six Burials Bodhisattva".
The villagers misinterpreted "six burials" as "all things are buried under its control," and established a "wedding ceremony" centered on offering paper brides as sacrifices.
The so-called "wedding ceremony" is actually the "Six Burial Bodhisattvas' Wedding Ceremony," which involves forcibly sacrificing a woman of the underworld as a paper bride. The girl, dressed in a paper wedding gown, is tied to a tree on the cliff behind the mountain and burned at the stake in exchange for the protection of the Six Burial Bodhisattvas.
The book ends here with an explanation of the origin of the "Six Burials True Scripture". What follows are the rituals for worshipping the Six Burials Bodhisattvas, as well as the cultivation of magic and so on.
Mo Jiang only glanced at these contents and didn't pay much attention to them.
He had no intention of learning the spells mentioned above before having them verified by a reliable person, especially since most of them required offering faith to the Six Burials Bodhisattva as a prerequisite before they could be practiced.
The last page of the book depicts a six-armed Bodhisattva seated in the void, surrounded by countless suns, moons, and stars, bestowing their radiance upon this six-armed Bodhisattva.
Every sun, moon, and star is a world, and every world has an end and destruction. When a world is destroyed, it will fall into the hands of the Six Burials Bodhisattva.
The portrait is captivating, and the half-closed eyes of the Six Burial Bodhisattva seem to radiate an eerie divine light.
Just then, a fervent cry for holy war rang in Mo Jiang's mind, instantly clearing his eyes.
After Mo Jiang returned to normal, he immediately dug a pit in the ground, lit the "Six Burials True Scripture" and threw it into the pit.
Before long, the fire engulfed the entire handwritten copy of the "Six Burials True Scripture".
But Mo Jiang could feel that he could still remember the divine charm of the Six Burials Bodhisattva in his mind. That trace of divine charm sent a signal to a certain thought in the void, trying to attract a certain gaze.
"Tsk, it seems the author of this manuscript was a very good artist."
The last painting, depicting the Six Burials Bodhisattva, was so lifelike that it was etched into the mind at first glance. This skill alone makes one a master in the art of painting.
Mo Jiang sealed the divine aura with holy light, blocking the signal it emitted. He guessed that the signal was probably sent to the Six Burials Bodhisattva.
Although it's unclear what will happen if he attracts the attention of the Six Burials Bodhisattva, Mo Jiang doesn't think anything good will happen.
and……
Mo Jiang lowered his head and pondered the appearance of the Six Burial Bodhisattvas he had just seen. "I feel that the origin of the Six Burial Bodhisattvas is somewhat related to Tibetan Buddhism."
The Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill he practiced came from the Vajrayana school of Tibetan Buddhism. During his time in the Vajrayana school, Mo Jiang also learned some knowledge about Tibetan Buddhism.
Upon seeing the Six Burials Bodhisattva, a certain feeling guided his thoughts, and for no apparent reason, he linked the Six Burials Bodhisattva with Tibetan Buddhism.
This is a kind of extrasensory experience that cannot be explained in words, resulting from an irrational operating logic.
But Mo Jiang trusted his instincts.
Since one's own feelings are leading one toward Tibetan Buddhism, it means that if one wants to sever ties with the Six Burials Bodhisattva, one must start from this point.
Thinking that he had only been in this world for a short time and had already gotten involved with so many strange things, Mo Jiang couldn't help but grin.
"Ghosts, the Thousand-Child Goddess, and now the Six Burials Bodhisattva—how did humanity develop to this point with so many strange and wonderful things in the world?"
Yinglingqiba is the first company to launch on U705.COM...
Half an hour later, Mo Jiang met up with Granny Tang.
"Here, this should be the heartwood of the Thousand-Child Tree."
The heartwood of the Thousand-Seed Tree is about half the size of a palm, and its texture is not wood, but more like stone. Holding it in your hand feels like holding a cool pebble.
Granny Tang took the heartwood of the Thousand-Child Tree and carefully examined Mo Jiang, but saw no signs of bloodstains on his clothes.
But I couldn't help asking, "Is the Great Witch Master still alive?"
"Although he was in so much pain that he wanted to die, he was fine and alive."
Although Da Wuxian experienced extreme pain that no man would want to endure, and it could even be considered an extreme form of humiliation, from the perspective of simply being alive, Da Wuxian is indeed alive at present.
Before Granny Tang could ask any more questions, Mo Jiang spoke first, "I've also cleaned up the traces I left behind. Da Wuxian won't remember me, and you can't find me using ordinary tracking methods."
"That's fine, that's fine..."
Seeing Granny Tang's relieved expression, Mo Jiang couldn't help but ask again, "By the way, Granny, what was the result of your fortune telling just now...?"
Before he could finish explaining his question, Yubaba interrupted him.
"We'll talk about that later. Your fate and Mo Li's past are not good issues to resolve right now."
Next, the three of us will enter the Ghost Realm of the Thousand-Child Goddess. Only by being near the Thousand-Child Goddess's true form can we wash away Mo Li's mark.
The author says:
Author's note: Thank you to [Feibai] and [Haibin] for the donations.
156. Do you remember how many slices of bread you've eaten?
In Granny Yu's house, the old woman is constantly rummaging through drawers and cabinets, looking for her most treasured possessions.
Charms, command flags, compasses, peach wood swords, prayer beads, whisks, and even Bibles with cross covers...
Although Mo Jiang knew that shamans and sorcerers generally only provided psychological comfort, even those with real skills would use whatever worked best.
However, the things that Granny Yu had on hand were indeed an excessive hodgepodge.
Besides the ritual implements of orthodox religious sects such as Buddhism, Taoism, and Christianity, he also saw some old torture instruments and a pig-slaughtering knife.
The dried bloodstains on the wooden cangue, now blackened, still exuded a bloody smell. The blade of the butcher's knife had a cold, bluish light, the luster that only comes from being soaked in countless amounts of blood.
According to Granny Yu, she bought the knife many years ago from a butcher whose family had been slaughtering pigs for generations. This knife had been used to kill at least several thousand pigs, cattle, and sheep in that family. In a sense, it was already a weapon of death.
"The Ghost Realm is not like the real world. Once you enter, it is very troublesome to get out. But the most important thing is that ordinary methods in the real world are almost useless in the Ghost Realm, including firearms."
Granny Yu gave a special reminder: "The rules in the Ghost Realm are constantly changing. Simple firearms are useless against ghosts who possess a Ghost Realm. If a Ghost Master's strength reaches a certain level, they can also open up a Ghost Realm and ignore firearms."
At this moment, Mo Jiang suddenly asked, "Grandma, I have encountered a ghost tamer who called himself 'Thousand Sons.' I wonder if it is possible for the Thousand Sons Tree to develop ghost tamers who belong to it?"
Yao Li's residence is protected by the demon tamer of [Qianzi], and there is even a shrine to the goddess Qianzi inside Yao Li's house.
According to Wang Meng, Yao Li obtained protection by sacrificing her unborn child, using her child as the vessel for the Thousand-Child Goddess's ghost fetus.
With so many factors combined, it's impossible for those ghost tamers of [Qianzi] to have a connection with Lady Qianzi.
"It is highly likely that the ghost tamer uses himself to contain the vengeful ghost, and uses the power of the vengeful ghost as a human pillar. This is both a sealing and a sacrifice. It just so happens that the Thousand-Child Goddess's ghost fetus and ghost infant... there are many."
Mo Jiang pondered for a moment, then asked, "If firearms are useless in the Ghost Realm, then what is useful?"
Firearms are useless in the Ghost Realm, rendering Mo Jiang's most efficient killing tools practically useless.
If the right tool is unusable, then a substitute must be found.
"Use this." Granny Tang handed the pig-slaughtering knife in her hand to Mo Jiang. "With enough talismans and things that have killed enough lives, it can be effective in the Ghost Realm. It's a pity that I once met an executioner who absolutely refused to sell me his knife."
"According to the 'wife's secret,' the knife has been used to behead hundreds of people. It has a menacing aura and is definitely a good thing."
Upon hearing this, Mo Jiang immediately realized something.
He didn't take the butcher knife, but instead told Granny Tang and the others to wait a moment before running out the door.
A short while later, he carried two large boxes back into the house, while a commotion arose outside the door.
Granny Tang and Nie Moli looked out the window and saw that five dogs, a horse, and an eagle had appeared in the yard outside the house at some point.
Three different species, but what they have in common is their exceptionally large size and menacing aura; their wildness and ferocity can be felt even through a room.
Mo Jiang opened the box, took out a set of jet-black armor, and asked, "Will this be useful in the Ghost Realm?"
Laying the armor out on the ground, Nie Moli could tell at a glance that the armor was clearly the style of the Jin Dynasty's Iron Pagoda.
She raised her eyebrows slightly, reached out and opened another box, and as she expected, it contained cold weapons.
A Tang-style horizontal sword, a Overlord Spear, a Fangtian Halberd, a longbow, and numerous arrows.
To put it bluntly, the things Mojiang brought were enough to join the army in ancient times.
With such a complete set of clothes, he must be from a respectable family in the Six Counties.
Compared to Nie Moli, Granny Tang was extremely surprised when she saw these things.
From her perspective, the armor and weapons were all shrouded in a fierce and malevolent aura, each piece far more terrifying and menacing than the decapitation sword she had seen before.
Even in her eyes, the air began to distort, and she felt a cold wind blowing by, which would probably make the wandering ghosts within a three-mile radius run away without looking back.
As for the animals outside, I couldn't see them clearly before, but now that I look closely, I can tell that the dog alone is definitely the kind that has dug up graves and killed people on the battlefield.
Having lived through the war years, Granny Yu saw many fierce dogs that even people were afraid of during that chaotic time.
"...How many people have died wearing this outfit?!"
This outfit carries the weight of at least three hundred lives.
Moreover, it's not something that's been accumulated over decades. Judging from the malevolent energy above, the person who has been touched by this thing will die within the next five years.
"I haven't counted, but it should be three or four digits."
After thinking it over carefully, Mo Jiang could only give a vague number.
