Chapter 61 Complaint
Chapter 61 Complaint
Konoha Material Management Office.
The air here is dry all year round, and due to the large number of chakra scrolls and precision metals stored here, the indoor temperature is maintained at a constant low temperature, with a cold, rusty smell.
Nishikawa Tetsu stood in front of the large, dark wooden counter and pushed over an application list stamped with the police department's red seal.
"Five kilograms of high-purity chakra metal for experiments, ten lightning-attribute conductive crystals, and three biological culture substrates of grade C or above." Nishikawa Tetsu's voice was steady, his fingertips rhythmically tapping the table.
The clerk behind the counter looked up, her gaze lingering for a second on Nishikawa Tetsu's police uniform, before slowly flipping through the roster on the table, her fingers tracing the blank spaces with a nonchalant air.
"What a coincidence, Nishikawa Chunin." The clerk closed the roster without even looking up at Nishikawa Tetsu, his tone dismissive.
"Due to the heavy losses at the front, we currently have neither of the two items you requested in stock. As for the culture medium, that's a special supply for the medical team; the police department doesn't have the authority to apply for it."
Nishikawa Tetsu paused, his gaze sweeping past the clerk and shifting to the row of tightly sealed metal cabinets behind him.
Through the gap in one of the half-open cabinet doors, a glimmer of bright silver light could be seen—it was clearly the chakra-conducting metal he desperately needed.
"When can we restock?" Nishikawa Tetsu asked casually.
"It's hard to say, maybe a month, maybe half a year." The clerk picked up the teacup next to her, took a tactical sip, and used it to cover up her embarrassment.
Just then, a ninja wearing a Jonin vest walked into the hall.
He didn't even queue; he simply snapped a crumpled note at the adjacent counter: "Urgently need three kilograms of chakra metal. Mission urgent."
The clerk at the other window didn't even look up. She turned around, took a heavy metal box from the cabinet behind her, and placed it heavily on the counter.
"Keep it safe, use it sparingly."
"..."
The clerk who had just greeted Nishikawa Tetsu was still holding his teacup, his eyes fixed on the old locust tree outside the window, as if there was some breathtaking view there. However, a fine layer of cold sweat had seeped from his forehead. This was something his boss had told him to do, not something he had wanted to do himself.
Although Nishikawa Tetsu wasn't a member of the Uchiha clan, the assistant to the police chief was someone a lowly clerk like him couldn't afford to offend.
Nishikawa Tetsu withdrew his hand from the list, adjusted the buckle on his left arm's bee sting brace, and made a crisp metallic click.
"I see, is it a specific type of shortage?"
He didn't argue, but simply made a small crease in the corner of the list before turning and heading towards the exit.
……
Stepping out of the supply depot, the sunlight on the street was so bright that it made me squint.
Nishikawa Tetsu slowly walked towards a secluded alley.
Within his perception range, three streams of chakra carrying a chilling aura clung to him like maggots, their surveillance never ceasing from the moment he left the Hokage Building.
"Code name 'Raven,' target: enter Abandoned Waterway Zone 7."
In the shadows, a Root ninja wearing a bird-beak mask whispered into his earpiece, his eyes beneath the mask filled with contempt.
"He seems annoyed because he couldn't get the supplies and is wandering around aimlessly. It's ridiculous that Lord Danzo would have the three of us keep an eye on a brat who only relies on external things."
"Don't be careless. The people Orochimaru values are all quite capable," another Root member, codenamed "Tiger," replied, but his tone was equally nonchalant.
"He's just a Chunin-level ninja. If I could kill him, I could finish him off with one strike."
In the eyes of these three Root elites, Nishikawa Tetsu was a lamb to the slaughter.
Without bloodline limits or family inheritance, they rely entirely on some strange iron lumps.
Nishikawa Tetsu turned into a dead-end alley leading to an abandoned waterway. The alley was piled with scrap wood and smelled musty, making it an excellent ambush spot.
"Since you've followed us all this way, aren't you going to come out and say hello?"
Nishikawa Tetsu stopped, his back to the alley entrance, his voice echoing in the empty alley.
"We've been discovered?"
The leader of the 'Crows' sneered.
"Your perception is sharp, but unfortunately, it's all meaningless."
Three dark figures landed instantly, forming a triangular formation to block the alley entrance and the rooftops on both sides. Their chilling killing intent locked onto Nishikawa Tetsuya.
"Nishikawa Chunin, this is a restricted area, please return..." 'Crow' prepared to use official language to force him to retreat, as was customary.
However, Nishikawa Tetsu did not turn around.
He simply raised his left arm slightly, and the muscles that had been enhanced by Orochimaru's data instantly tensed, filling his entire body with a long-lost sense of power.
"Forbidden zones? I think they're your graveyards."
Before he could finish speaking, Nishikawa Tetsu suddenly turned around, and the bee sting exoskeleton on his left arm emitted a piercing buzzing sound.
"Buzz—"
Nishikawa Tetsu spread his five fingers, his palm facing the 'tiger' charging straight ahead.
"Magnetic Repulsion Field - Full Power!"
Tiger was originally charging forward with his sword drawn, moving at great speed. He was confident that this sword would be held to Nishikawa Tetsu's neck, forcing him to submit.
But the moment he stepped within five meters of Nishikawa Tetsuya, a strange, immense force suddenly acted on the ninja sword in his hand and the metal buckle on his body.
"What?!"
Tiger's pupils suddenly contracted.
He felt as if he had crashed into an invisible wall, and the ninja sword in his hand flew uncontrollably in the opposite direction, causing him to completely lose his balance.
"Your knife is disobeying you."
Nishikawa Tetsu's figure darted out like a cheetah, his enhanced physical attributes allowing him to unleash speed comparable to a taijutsu-specialized ninja.
"Bang!"
The punch, delivered with the exoskeleton arm guards, slammed into the tiger's abdomen.
This punch not only had the power of Nishikawa Tetsu himself, but also the support of hydraulic power.
"vomit--"
Tiger's eyes bulged out, and he sprayed out a mixture of stomach acid and saliva. His whole body arched up like a boiled shrimp, instantly losing his fighting ability, and he crashed heavily into the nearby garbage heap.
"How is this possible?! This speed and power..."
The remaining "Crow" and the other Root ninja were terrified. Wasn't the intelligence report saying this kid was physically weak and could only rely on long-range sneak attacks?
"Let's attack together and take him down!"
"Crow" formed hand seals, "Wind Release: Vacuum Ball!"
Several air bullets whistled through the air.
Nishikawa Tetsu's eyes were as calm as if he were conducting an experiment. Instead of retreating, he advanced and suddenly swung his left hand.
"Magnetic traction!"
The scattered pieces of discarded steel bars on the ground seemed to come alive, instantly flying up and intertwining in the air to form a shield, blocking the attack of the Vacuum Jade.
Immediately afterwards, Nishikawa Tetsuya's chakra erupted from his feet, and using the steel bars as cover, he instantly closed in.
"Since you enjoy surveillance, then watch to your heart's content."
Nishikawa Tetsuya now had several specially made Lightning Release: Senbon needles in his hand.
"Sizzle!"
Instead of throwing it, he plunged the senbon needles directly into Crow's shoulder. The high-voltage current attached to the senbon needles instantly disrupted Crow's chakra flow.
"Aaaaaah!"
The crow let out a scream and collapsed to the ground, its body convulsing.
Seeing this, the last Root ninja turned around and tried to escape back to report the news.
"It's too late."
Nishikawa Tetsu raised his left arm, and the miniature launcher on the arm guard locked in place.
"Anesthetic dart, fire."
"puff."
After a faint whooshing sound, the ninja who had just jumped onto the wall tilted his head and fell down like a kite with a broken string.
In less than a minute, all three elite members of the Root were wiped out.
"Is this the true strength of Root? Nothing but darkness."
Nishikawa Tetsu shook his hand, looked at the three figures on the ground who were still convulsing or unconscious, and pulled out a special rope from his backpack.
His movements were as practiced as those of a seasoned hunter, binding the three men together tightly like shredded meat. He even thoughtfully stuffed specially made gags into their mouths to prevent them from biting their tongues to commit suicide or using the seal of tongue extinction to self-destruct.
……
Hokage Building, Mission Hall.
It was the peak time for the ninjas from different departments to hand over their missions, and the place was bustling with activity.
"Splash—splash—"
A sickeningly heavy sound of something scraping the ground came from the front door.
The noisy hall fell eerily quiet, and all eyes turned to the main entrance.
Nishikawa Tetsu walked into the hall, holding a rope in one hand and expressionless.
Behind him, three masked ninjas, covered in mud and bound together, were dragged along by ropes. They were being pulled across the smooth floor tiles, making a screeching sound.
These three Root elites, who usually struck fear into the hearts of ordinary ninjas, were now being dragged through the streets like three dead dogs by a ten-year-old boy.
"Th-those are people from the Anbu?"
"Good heavens, someone dared to kidnap an Anbu member and bring him to the Hokage Building? Who is this kid?"
Ignoring the shocked gazes around him, Nishikawa Tetsu walked straight to the ANBU checkpoint in the center of the hall.
"Bang."
He let go, allowing the three "zongzi" to collide together.
Two masked ANBU members appeared instantly, watching the scene warily: "Nishikawa Tetsu, what does this mean?"
"Found it."
Nishikawa Tetsu's tone was as calm as if he were remarking on the weather: "On my way home, these three people were lurking around and following me suspiciously, and they even tried to attack members of the police department. I suspect they are spies from an enemy country, or some unscrupulous wandering ninjas posing as members of the ANBU."
The member of the Dark Guard looked at the iconic mask and tattoos on the ground, his lips twitching.
What the hell are these wandering ninjas? Who can afford to support such wandering ninjas?
"The man has been handed over to your secret service. I hope you can enforce the law impartially and find out something from him."
Nishikawa Tetsu brushed the dust off his hands, and without giving the Anbu a chance to refuse, pointed directly to the stairs:
"As for me, having suffered such a great shock, I need to seek comfort from the Hokage."
After saying that, he didn't even glance at the three people on the ground, turned around and walked towards the Hokage's office, leaving a large hall full of dumbfounded ninjas.
……
The Hokage's office.
"Knock knock knock".
There was a knock on the door, and then the door was pushed open.
Hiruzen Sarutobi was reviewing documents when he saw Nishikawa Tetsu enter, looking "aggrieved," and his temples throbbed.
He had clearly seen the commotion downstairs through the crystal ball.
"Lord Hokage, you must do justice for me!"
As soon as Nishikawa Tetsu entered the room, his cold aura vanished instantly, replaced by resentment and helplessness.
He placed the folded-corner supply request form on the table and pointed downstairs: "The supplies department said they had no stock, that's a natural disaster, I accept that. But in the village, someone openly attacked police officers, that's a man-made disaster!"
"Moreover, the ninjutsu those people used was extremely insidious, with each move potentially fatal. If I hadn't made some progress recently, you'd probably have my pension application on your desk right now."
Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at the boy in front of him, whose acting was exaggerated but whose eyes were sharp, took a deep drag on his pipe, and gave a wry smile.
"Che... do you know whose people he is?"
"I have no idea."
Nishikawa Tetsu looked righteous.
"All I know is that whether it's the root or the leaf, if you wield a knife against your companion, it's just a rotten branch."
He looked at the third generation, his tone suddenly becoming serious:
"Lord Hokage, the police department is at a critical juncture of reform. What we need is support, not stabs in the back. If even basic supplies and personal safety are not guaranteed, it will be difficult for Captain Fugaku to do his job, and it will be difficult for me to do mine as well."
This is a deal. Nishikawa Tetsu is telling the Third Hokage: We can help you keep Danzo in check, but on the condition that you keep your old buddy in check.
Hiruzen Sarutobi remained silent for a moment, looking at the application form on the table, and then thinking about Nishikawa Tetsu's method of dragging the Root ninja through the streets earlier.
This kid is slapping Danzo in the face, and also showing himself his worth.
"call……"
The Third Hokage exhaled a puff of smoke, picked up a pen, and heavily signed his name on the application form, affixing the Hokage's seal.
"Regarding the supplies, take this warrant and no one will dare to stop you. I will have the secret service take over the authority of the supplies department."
"As for those three people downstairs..." A glint of light flashed in the Third Generation's eyes.
"Since he is a 'wandering ninja,' treat him as such and lock him in Konoha's heavy punishment room for rigorous interrogation."
This was an explanation to Nishikawa Tetsuya, and also a warning to Danzo. After all, Nishikawa Tetsuya was part of his Hokage lineage, and Danzo had indeed gone too far.
Nishikawa Tetsu picked up the warrant, a bright smile spreading across his face.
"Thank you, Hokage! Konoha is indeed fair and just!"
Watching Nishikawa Tetsu's departing figure, Sarutobi Hiruzen shook his head.
"These young people nowadays are all so difficult to deal with... Danzo, you've really bitten off more than you can chew this time."
Renxiong sighed and continued puffing on his pipe.
"Sigh, I wonder when Jiraiya will be able to come back and help me out."
