The woman continued to ask.
"So I still need your ship, and I think—you'll help me, won't you?"
Helena looked at the retro beauty with an uncertain gaze.
"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. Actually, I also saved your companions. There were four of you in total, right? A red-haired demigod, an elf, and a human extraordinary."
A retro beauty shrugs.
"Really? Where are they?!"
Helena's face lit up with surprise.
"It's in the last few rooms."
Alice answered.
Helena hurriedly left the room, only then realizing how small the ship was.
There is only one layer.
In the remaining two rooms, Helena found Hazel and the others, but they seemed to still be unconscious and had not yet woken up.
"They're fine, they should wake up in a little while."
Alice, who had followed, explained in advance.
"Thank you, Ms. Alice."
Helena bowed in gratitude.
"No need, I need to be paid for saving you."
Alice suddenly raised an eyebrow and smiled.
"remuneration?"
Helena was puzzled.
Go get something for me.
Alice's gentle and delicate face suddenly turned serious.
P.S.: Double update tomorrow. I finished the outline of Volume 3 and some settings today. Helena and Leon will be able to meet soon, within three chapters at most.
Chapter Two: The Sea
After confirming that Hazel and the others were alright, Helena did not rush to wake them up. Instead, she followed Alice out of the stuffy cabin and onto the deck.
Today, the sun shines brightly on the Arctic Ocean, illuminating the shimmering blue waves.
A gentle breeze blew, and a strand of Helena's hair swayed in the wind.
Alice stood beside Helena. Unlike Helena, her wide robes remained completely still in the wind, and her hair did not flutter at all, as if the surrounding environment had no effect on her.
"You're in the Black Reef area because there's a pirate shipwreck there, right?"
Alice asked.
"Yep."
Helena nodded in agreement.
"The most valuable item in that shipwreck was actually a nautical chart that marked the location of a mysterious island."
Alice said.
"A mysterious island?"
Helena looked puzzled.
"Yes, it's rumored that that's where the mysterious Queen Percy ascended to become an angel."
Alice replied.
"Why do you know this?"
Helena stared suspiciously at the enigmatic woman before her with her beautiful eyes. Her demeanor was reserved and elegant, possessing a classical beauty, yet every move she made was so alluring and seductive, almost like a high-level succubus.
"because--"
Alice hesitated for a moment, then suddenly stopped.
"Why? It's really unfair of you to only say half of what you mean."
Although Helena said this, there was no angry expression on her face.
"Let me put it this way, I don't actually belong to this era. I've lived for a very, very long time."
Alice spoke, her tone extremely profound, "As for the rest, I don't remember much. I am just a remnant soul, drifting on the icy ocean, and I've forgotten how many years I've been drifting."
"what?"
An ancient monster from thousands of years ago?
impossible!
Aside from true gods, vampires, and dragons, who could live this long!
Helena was taken aback by the sudden news, but quickly regained her composure.
She stretched out her slender, white finger and gently poked Alice beside her. Sure enough, her fingertip had no physical touch and passed right through Alice's body as if it were air.
"Don't look at me like I've seen a ghost, I don't like it."
Alice straightened her face and said, "I can sense that my true self is still alive, but I can't find her, so—I'm not dead yet!"
"Oh."
Helena obediently withdrew her hand from poking Alice.
"Alright, then tell me, how should I help you?"
Helena steered the conversation back to the main topic.
“I know the location of that island, so it doesn’t matter whether I have the map or not, but those pirates may have already obtained the map and are on their way to the island.”
Alice continued, "I need you to get to the island before them and take something from it."
"oh, I understand now."
Helena nodded gently. "Then let's get going."
"So straightforward? Don't you think I'm deceiving you? When the devil wants to break free of the seal, he always knows how to take advantage of the farmer's kindness. When the farmer foolishly helps the devil, he not only fails to get the wealth the devil promised, but also loses his life."
Alice said with a chuckle.
"Fine, so you wanted to trick me into doing things for you! Then I won't help you!"
Helena glanced at her fair, pretty face.
"It doesn't matter, I've never forced you."
Alice wasn't buying it.
"Alright, stop saying there's nothing there, tell me the specifics."
Helena waved her hand.
"I don't remember the specifics, and I don't know what the island looked like. This ship will sail automatically and take us to that island."
Alice smiled, then a look of weariness crossed her face.
"I'm so sleepy, I have to go to sleep."
After saying that, Alice's body went limp and she was about to fall down.
"Hey!"
Helena reached out to help her, but she couldn't touch Alice and could only watch helplessly as she fell onto the deck.
Alice fell onto the deck and vanished instantly.
"Gone?"
Helena was puzzled. She then searched every corner of the ship where people could hide, but she couldn't find Alice anywhere. If the ship wasn't actually sailing automatically in a certain direction, then everything about Alice seemed like a dream.
What a strange woman.
Do not!
She might not even be human!
Helena's inner monologue.
At this time, Hazel and the others gradually woke up.
They were just as bewildered as Helena, who had just woken up.
Helena then told them about Alice, as well as some of her deductions and speculations.
"I think we should do as Ms. Alice suggested and go to that island to take a look."
Hazel voted in favor.
"To be able to explore unknown and mysterious islands, oh my god, this is the adventure I dream of every day."
Maisie said she had no objection.
"The devil always appears harmless until he achieves his goal."
Ella disagreed, "But I remember the legend of the mysterious queen... she did indeed ascend to the rank of angel on the Arctic Ocean. The supernatural methods of ancient times were very sinister. If what Ms. Alice said is true, then that island must be extremely dangerous."
“Ella… I want to take a gamble. I can feel a familiar warmth in Ms. Alice. It’s strange, but I feel like she’s not a bad person.”
Helena firmly stated, "High risk, high reward."
"In that case, let's go."
Ella glanced at the three women sitting beside her and finally nodded.
Finding someone on the vast ocean is extremely difficult.
In the Snow Capital, after leveraging the financial resources of the Hoyle family to smooth things over, Leon finally boarded a Snow Capital Navy warship and entered the Black Reef Sea.
Following the debris such as broken planks and charcoal floating on the sea, the warship quickly located the site where the adventurers' ship had been destroyed.
According to the salvage and investigation, the ship was the Uttans, and the captain was named William. Among the list of the dead adventurers on the ship was an adventurer team called "Bread".
Leon already knew that the four girls in the bread squad were Helena and her friends.
"Colonel, these are all the bodies that are still inside the sunken ship."
Several sailors carried rows of bloated corpses, soaked in seawater, onto the deck.
The highest-ranking officer here is Colonel Ferrandi, a muscular man who stands 1.9 meters tall, more than half a head taller than Leon, and has a thick beard.
"Mr. Leon, is the person you're looking for here?"
Ferrandi, with a pipe dangling from his lips, looked at Leon standing beside him.
"No."
Leon's gaze swept over the corpses, then he stepped to the edge of the deck. "I've heard there's a pirate shipwreck down there. Would you like to go down and take a look, sir?"
Leon turned to look at Ferlandi.
"I'd be delighted, but it's probably already been looted by pirates."
Ferrandi chuckled, a pipe dangling from his lips.
ps: There will be another update tonight.
Chapter Three Buttons
Ferrandi is a sailor, a profession that grants the ability to breathe underwater like a fish for extended periods and also provides exceptional resistance to water pressure.
This power comes from the bloodline of mermaids from ancient times, so when Ferrandi uses the Sailor Power, scale-like plates grow on his body.
Compared to the relaxed Ferlandy, Leon was in a much worse situation. He couldn't breathe underwater, so he had to rely on corresponding magic.
