The moment he merged with the soul of the reborn, he finally understood what had happened.
The newly absorbed soul energy quickly transformed into demonic power.
A string of entirely new magical terms appeared in the reborn person's mind.
This word is formed by the superposition and combination of hundreds of syllables, its pronunciation bizarre yet incredibly grand. It fully elucidates the intersecting destinies of Chu Shixin, a human from Earth, and the demon Diraz.
The reborn realized: this was their "true name," the unique abyssal mark and source of power for each demon.
She remained silent, a hint of sadness flashing in her blue eyes.
Is it finally impossible to go back?
Chapter 5 The History of Samarach
In the dark, damp corridors of the underground building, groans and sobs echoed in the stifling air.
Those were several severely wounded soldiers on the verge of death.
The six-armed serpent demon reborn ignored them. She first snatched the parchment scroll with the original owner's true name written on it from the corpse of the mage Ur, and then, with her five hands, she groped around and pulled a black dimensional bag from the dead body.
In her dimensional bag, she found a small bag of broken gems, an old papyrus-bound spellbook, two worn-out wands—one a fireball wand and the other a dispel wand, both of which needed charging—and several bottles of magic potions.
She casually tossed the dead body aside.
He pulled out a fireball wand from his dimensional bag, cast a spell to ignite the parchment scroll, and watched it burn to ashes. Then he kneaded the ashes into a ball and swallowed it whole.
The original owner's true name can no longer command her, but it can still restrain the demonic body she obtained from the original owner.
This hidden danger has now been completely eliminated.
She licked her lips and lowered her gaze to Tancred, who had fainted beneath her.
Tankred lay motionless, like a corpse.
She gave a half-smile, slightly raising one eyebrow.
This guy is faking it.
The six-armed serpent demon possesses innate telepathic abilities.
Now, within her mental field of vision, he was radiating fear and anxiety in all directions, as conspicuous as the only blazing torch lit in the darkness.
How stupid.
Anger burned simultaneously in the six-armed serpent demon's heart and in its emerald eyes.
The female demon's chorus roared furiously in her heart:
—This mortal dares to try to fool us with such a petty trick, thinking he can fool us, fool a high-level demon, fool an immortal being!
—Stab this guy right in the heart! Absorb his sinful, sweet soul!
But the next second, the rationality that once characterized him as a human being surged back into his brain.
Chu Shixin's cold voice echoed in my heart:
Is it necessary to haggle with an ant crawling at your feet, or rather, struggling for its life under your tail?
That was just a trick he used to save his life.
Playing dead is indeed a bit foolish, because he lacks imagination, but his original intention was simply to survive.
Two voices then rang out alternately:
—Kill him.
--No.
—Kill him! Use his head and blood to prove his incompetence, and to prove that we have the power of life and death!
—We've already proven it. When this guy begged for mercy, we already decided to let him go. He survived because we had already made that decision, and it has nothing to do with his foolish act of feigning death.
—No decision is final; we can back out at any time!
—We can, but we have more important things to do.
And so Chu Shixin won. The female demon let out a furious roar of resentment, then gradually disappeared into the dark corners of her inner world.
Just as the six-armed serpent demon reborn was about to awaken Tankred, he suddenly remembered that the most crucial situation had not yet been resolved.
Then, she pressed her elbows against her body with her lowermost jade arms, raised her fair and beautiful hands, spread her slender fingers, and gently lifted her magnificent breasts, her palms covering the dazzling light of the heavens.
perfect.
There were no clothes here that fit her figure, so this was the only option left.
She casually poked the wound on the shoulder of the man who was pretending to be unconscious with the tip of her tail.
Tankred was in so much pain that he broke out in a cold sweat.
He convulsed all over, vomited a mouthful of blood, and kept his eyes tightly closed, though he curled up in a ball, trembling.
Well acted.
Chu Shixin silently gave him a thumbs up.
The Eastern Depot needs someone like you.
She pulled a bottle of healing potion from her dimensional bag. She intended to pour it into Tankred's mouth, but seeing how engrossed he was in his role, his face pale and his teeth clenched, refusing to open his mouth, she simply poured it all into his wounds and nose.
Tankred coughed violently, unable to keep up the act any longer.
He awkwardly rolled over and slowly got to his feet: "Honorable Lord Diraz, thank you for your help—"
She abruptly interrupted his insincere pretense: "Where are we now?"
This common-sense question took Tancred aback: "Lord Delaz?"
"Dilaz is history, it's over."
A sinister voice echoed, causing blood to form on the man's ears. "You can call me Chu Shixin."
This is the first time she has spoken so many words to a stranger in one breath.
The reborn six-armed serpent demon felt her neck was stiffer than stone, her beautiful face turned straight ahead. Severe social anxiety prevented her from looking at his face; she could only stare blankly at the air above his head.
Tankred lowered his gaze, sweat pouring down his face.
In his eyes, the towering serpentine demon opposite him was simply overwhelming, its every move exuding arrogance and majesty, like a queen of the world.
Those two emerald flame-like eyes stared intently at the top of his head, seemingly looking but not really looking—it is said that high-ranking demons can see a person's fate line above their head, thus manipulating that person's life, death, and future…
His voice trembled: "This lowly servant would never dare to address you by your name, my supreme master."
"Very good," she thought.
The initial communication went smoothly, which could be a good start.
This time, Tankred didn't dare keep his new master waiting any longer.
“Supreme Master, our secret magical laboratory, now belonging to Eric van Boto, is also yours, yours…”
Prison? Cage? He didn't know how to describe it. "In short, this is the highest peak in the middle section of the northern foothills of the Sanlachi Mountains, north of Samarachi, and also the eastern part of the Churt Forest."
Chu Shixin gently massaged her temples with one hand. Her head was starting to ache; it was full of place names she had never heard of before.
Okay, let's do it one by one.
She composed herself, maintained her composure, and continued to stare straight ahead into the air, speaking more coherently: "What place is Samarach?"
After a meticulous ten-minute explanation from his new servant, the reincarnated six-armed serpent demon finally gained a general understanding of his surroundings.
Samarach is the name of the country beneath him, located in the central part of the Tzultan Peninsula.
The Tzurtan Peninsula is long and narrow, like a drawn sword, piercing the vast Sea of No Trace from east to west across the mainland. The peninsula's interior is entirely covered by dense tropical rainforest, the "Tzurtan Jungle" that Tankred spoke of, a completely wild and untamed land.
The climate here is humid and hot, making it a paradise for reptiles, and tigers are also found here.
It sounds somewhat similar to Central and South America in her previous life, and also somewhat similar to Indonesia. She thought.
The Thurte jungle is home to many indigenous people, including scattered human tribes and various humanoid tribes.
The peninsula's indigenous people, who lived by hunting, were dark-skinned, short-tempered savages who loved gold ornaments. They worshipped poisonous frogs, giant snakes, tigers, and fishing cats.
Here you'll also find the "Batili" (tribal alliance) ruled by the goblin queen; the wild dwarf clans below the mountains; and the flying pterodactyls and Araquo eagles atop the mountain peaks.
Legend has it that deep in the remote jungle, the remnants of a snake-man empire from tens of thousands of years ago still lurk.
Let's get back to Samarach.
The kingdom where the reborn six-armed serpent demon now resides is located on the southern coast of the central part of the Chultan Peninsula.
Samarach is surrounded by the semi-circular Samarach Mountains on its northwest, east, and south sides, with Omga Bay to the south, facing the vast Southern Ocean.
The Samar River, with its abundant water, stretches across the basin from north to south.
The west bank of the river is a rainforest called Samarlo, the southeastern extension of the Churt jungle. The east bank consists of swamps and plains, where numerous farms have been established.
"Actually, this place wasn't originally called Samarachi, and the Samar River wasn't originally called the Samar River either."
Tancred said bitterly, “When our ancestors first came here, we called it Sanrachi because it was surrounded by the Sanrachi Mountains. Later we called it Sicindor.”
Eight hundred years ago, five adventurers came from the East.
Tancred said, “My ancestors came from Harua, the land of wizards in the East. The Harua people believed that the true mystical art was the way of the wizard. The way of the sorcerer was merely a crude application of magic, which was dangerous and unpredictable. My ancestors were unable to become wizards due to their own limitations, so they had to leave their homeland to travel around and find their own path.”
So the five adventurers left Harua, traveled across most of the continent, and finally arrived in Sanrachi.
They drove out non-human races such as dwarves and snake people, conquered native tribes, cleared rainforests, cultivated farmland, improved trade routes, and built ports.
As waves of immigrants arrived along the paths they had pioneered, Elinuvar Mand, the paladin of Amannatha and leader of a five-man adventure party, was hailed as king. He became Elinuvar I.
The other four teammates were all granted the title of Founding Earl by the King, sharing the power to rule Sanrachi with him.
This is the predecessor of the present-day Samarach Kingdom, the Mande Dynasty of Samarach.
Eric van Boto, the legendary sorcerer and ancestor of the Boto family, was also one of the five adventurers. Eric served as the strategist for the adventure party and was also the first court mage of the Mande Dynasty.
At Eric's suggestion, the five men made a vow on the day the nation was founded: only those who inherited their ancestors' adventurous profession would be eligible to inherit the title, so that future generations would not forget the hardships the five men endured in establishing the nation.
But no one expected that, more than a decade later, the first person unable to inherit the adventurer profession would be Elinuvar the Younger, the eldest son of Elinuvar I.
It is said that El Novartis the Younger is very ambitious and wicked, and not someone who can be entrusted with the country.
Elinuvar I was aware of this and deeply worried.
Moreover, he was seriously ill, so he simply decided to entrust his career to the Kingdom of Sindor.
Sindor lies to the east of Sanlagi, separated from the Sanlagi Basin only by the Sanlagi Mountains. It is also an eastern immigrant kingdom surrounded by indigenous tribes, sharing the same bloodline as Sanlagi, which is also an immigrant nation. Moreover, Sindor is thriving and far more prosperous and powerful than Sanlagi.
The two countries quickly reached an agreement on the matter.
Elnuvar I recognized Sindor as the suzerain state of Sanlach, and in exchange, the King of Sindor recognized the power and status of the Sanlach royal family and the founding counts.
Thus, Sanlach became a semi-independent autonomous territory of Sicindor.
But to everyone's surprise, a sudden event permanently changed everything.
That New Year, Sindore hosted a grand court ball, which was attended by Elinouar I and the founding counts.
Everything was originally joyous and peaceful.
However, the drunken royal, in full view of everyone, began to transform, revealing his true form—King Sindor was actually a snake-man.
Everyone was shocked.
It turns out that, unbeknownst to them, the spies of the snake people had infiltrated the Kingdom of Sindor and successfully replaced all the members of the royal family.
The enraged nobles of Sindor launched a massacre in the palace, sparing no snake people, and initiated a nationwide campaign to eradicate them. Later historians referred to this event as the "War of Unveiling the Veil."
In the following months, the people of Sindor were gripped by unprecedented panic, filled with suspicion and accusations, descending into hysteria. Eventually, whenever people suspected someone of having snake-people blood or colluding with them, they would attack that person's entire family without trial and execute them.
The entire city of Sindor was plunged into immense terror, with bloodshed and carnage everywhere.
This year was thus recorded as the "Year of the Snakes".
As chaos began to emerge in Sindor, Elinuvar I and his founding counts took a shortcut back to Sanrachi from Sindor. On the way, they were attacked by a large group of snake-men. Elinuvar I was killed in battle.
Although Elinouar Jr. did not inherit his father's paladin profession, he was the only candidate for monarch of Sanrachi.
Thus, the new king ascended the throne without controversy, becoming Elinuvar II.
Upon ascending the throne, Elinuvar II ordered the arrest of the court sorcerer and Count Erik van Boto, the first count. The charges against him were collusion with the snake people, treason, and regicide.
Tankred suspects that Eric is innocent.
Although Count Boto commands a six-armed serpent demon, discerning people know that abyssal demons and serpent people are not the same thing.
