Chapter 299 Single vs. Group Fight

Chapter 299 Single vs. Group Fight

After work, Banggeng carried the empty dung bucket back home. The setting sun stretched his shadow long, and his stench attracted a group of green-headed flies, which buzzed around him. When he passed the old locust tree at the entrance of the village, several villagers who were enjoying the cool air immediately pinched their noses and dispersed.

"Ouch, it stinks!" Aunt Wang fanned the room exaggeratedly, "Stay away, stay away!"

Several half-grown children followed him, clapping their hands and singing: "The dung collector, stinking, married a wife and slept in the woodshed! The dung collector, lazy and greedy, works worse than the old lady!"

Banggeng gritted his teeth and quickened his pace, but the laughter behind him was getting louder and louder. A clod of earth flew over and hit him on the back of the head. He turned around suddenly, and the children screamed and ran away, continuing to sing the jingle he had arranged as they ran.

"Little bastard..." Banggeng clenched the carrying pole tightly, his knuckles turned white, but he could only continue walking home. With every step he took, the blood scab on his shoulder rubbed against the carrying pole, causing burning pain.

When they got home, Banggeng had just put down the dung bucket when Maya came out of the house with a basin of water in her hand: "Wash it quickly, don't let the catkins get in your mouth."

Bang Geng took the basin and threw it at his feet with a clang. The water splashed on his worn rubber shoes. Bang Geng stared at the face reflected in the water - dark, thin, dirty, and unshaven. How could he look like the fair-skinned city youth he was back then?

"Boss, what's wrong with you? Why did you throw the basin on the ground?" Maya looked at Banggeng staring at the basin in a daze, "Wash quickly, take off the clothes outside after washing, and don't bring them into the house!"

Banggeng suddenly laughed. The laughter was hoarse and unpleasant, and Maya took two steps back in fear.

"You think I stink?" Bang Geng approached Maya step by step, "Who made me like this? Ah? If it wasn't your brother or your father, how could I become like this?"

Maya was frightened by the fierce light in his eyes and stammered, "You...what are you crazy about..."

"I'm crazy?" Bang Geng grabbed Maya's collar, "You Li family treat me like an animal, and you still think I stink?"

“Let go!” Maya struggled, “You’re hurting me!”

Instead, he held the stick even tighter, and raised his other hand to slap her. With a crisp "slap", Maya's head tilted away, and five red marks immediately swelled up on her cheek.

"I'll let you think I stink! I'll let you think I'm dirty!" Banggeng cursed and raised his hand.

Ma Ya, who was used to farm work, was strong enough to push the stick away and cried out, "Boss, stop beating me! Help! Someone is being beaten to death!"

Immediately, the sound of a door opening and hurried footsteps could be heard from the next yard. Banggeng's head buzzed, and his blood boiled. He picked up the basin on the ground and threw it at Maya. The aluminum basin hit Maya's shoulder, splashing water all over her.

The gate was pushed open, and many neighbors came to help stop Bang Geng and protect Maya.

Soon, the three brothers Tieniu rushed in. Seeing Banggen glaring at his brothers with a dark face, his sister sitting on the ground with half of her face swollen, Tieniu's eyes were red.

"Jia Geng! I'll fuck your ancestors!" Tie Niu roared and pounced on him, punching Bang Geng on the bridge of his nose.

Banggeng's eyes went dark, and blood gushed out of his nose. He staggered back, knocking over the pile of firewood by the wall. Tieshuan kicked him in the waist from the side, and Banggeng bent over in pain. Tiezhu then hit him on the back with an elbow, and he fell to the ground.

"Brother! Stop hitting me!" Maya cried.

"If I don't kill this beast today, I'll take his surname!" Tie Niu grabbed Banggeng's hair and lifted him up, then punched him twice in the face.

Bang Geng's vision was blurred by blood, and his mouth tasted of rust. He spat out a broken tooth, suddenly howled like a beast, pushed Tie Niu away, and pounced on the hatchet next to the firewood pile.

"Be careful!" Tieshuan shouted, but it was too late.

Bang Geng held the knife with both hands and slashed at the nearest iron pillar. Tiezhu was unable to dodge and a long cut was made on his left arm, and blood instantly soaked his sleeve.

"Ah!" Tiezhu covered his arm and stepped back, his face pale.

Tieniu and Tieshuan were stunned for a moment, then they flew into a rage. Tieshuan picked up a shovel near the wall and slapped Banggeng on the back. Banggeng fell forward, and the hatchet flew out of his hand. Tieniu rushed forward, picked up the water-carrying pole, and slapped Banggeng's arms twice.

With a crisp "crack" sound, the stick stem let out a scream that was not like a human voice, and the right arm was bent at a strange angle.

"I told you not to use a knife! I told you not to hit my sister!" Tie Niu raised the shovel and was about to hit again, but Captain Li, who came rushing over after hearing the noise, hugged him.

"Enough! Someone is going to die!" Captain Li shouted.

The yard was in a mess. Tiezhu was leaning against the wall, blood dripping from his fingertips; Maya was slumped on the ground, crying so hard that she couldn't catch her breath; Banggeng was curled up in a corner, his right arm was obviously broken, and blood foam kept coming out of his mouth.

Neighbors gathered at the gate, whispering. Some ran to call a barefoot doctor, while others whispered, "It serves him right."

Captain Li took a deep breath and said to Tieshuan, "Go get the militia company commander from the commune." Then he looked at Banggeng lying on the ground, his eyes as cold as ice: "Jia Geng, you beat my daughter and chopped my son. This matter is not over today."

Banggeng struggled to raise his head, grinning with his bloody mouth: "Come on... kill me... anyway... I've lived enough..."

The barefoot doctor came in a hurry and bandaged Tiezhu's wound first. "You need to go to the commune clinic for stitches." The doctor frowned and said, "The wound is too deep."

Captain Li nodded and asked Tieniu to take Tiezhu to the hospital. Then he pointed at Banggeng and said to the doctor, "Take a look at him. Don't let him die."

The doctor checked Bang Geng's injuries and shook his head: "His right arm is broken, and two ribs may also be broken. He must be rushed to the hospital."

"It's OK as long as he's not dead." Captain Li said coldly, "Lock him up first and wait for the militia company commander to come."

Two sturdy villagers lifted Banggeng up and dragged him into the woodshed. Banggeng did not resist, but stared at Maya with bloodshot eyes until the door of the woodshed was closed.

Militia company commander Wang Weijun arrived quickly. He was wearing a washed-out green military uniform, with a Type 54 pistol on his belt, and wrinkled his nose as he entered the yard—the air was still filled with a strange smell of feces mixed with blood.

"What happened?" Wang Weijun looked around the messy yard, his eyes lingering on the bloody hatchet for a moment, "I heard someone used a knife?"

Captain Li hurriedly offered a cigarette, but Wang Jianjun waved his hand to refuse. Tie Niu stood aside, holding the bandaged Tie Zhu. Tie Zhu looked pale, and the bandage on his left arm was oozing blood.

"Captain, you have to make the decision for us!" Tie Niu spoke first, pointing at the woodshed, "That ungrateful bastard not only beat my sister, but also chopped people with a knife! Look how he chopped off my brother's arm!"

Wang Weijun didn't rush to express his opinion, but first checked Tiezhu's injury. The wound was about seven or eight centimeters long, but fortunately it wasn't too deep, and the doctor at the commune health center had already sutured it.

"Where are the Banggeng people?" Wang Weijun asked.
