Chapter 82 Zeref's Thoughts
Chapter 82 Zeref's Thoughts
Sasuke turned his head and saw Orochimaru walking leisurely toward them.
Orochimaru walked over to Zeref and Sasuke and very naturally sat cross-legged on the grass.
The three people sitting together at this moment form a triangle when viewed from a distance.
"Lord Zeref lives in a completely different world from the ninja world. I'd also like to hear Lord Zeref's thoughts on Konoha, hehehe—"
While the Uchiha clan was being discussed, Orochimaru, who coveted the Sharingan, came over. Sasuke crossed his arms, somewhat annoyed, and scoffed.
Jelf tilted his head and smiled, "It's just my own opinion."
"The Hokage is the leader of the ninjas in Konoha Village. To become a leader, one must either have overwhelming strength and prestige, or be loved by the vast majority of people."
"But unfortunately, I don't seem to have seen either of these two points in the Uchiha clan."
"Jereff said calmly."
Subconsciously skipping over the latter condition, Sasuke said with dissatisfaction, "The Sharingan of the Uchiha clan is the most powerful bloodline limit. You saw Madara Uchiha's Susanoo on the day of the Konoha Crush, didn't you?"
Sasuke, who was already incredibly confident in the power of the Uchiha clan, became even more complacent after witnessing Madara Uchiha's ability to control the Nine-Tails with his Sharingan and his Susanoo being able to fight Acnologia.
Thinking of the blue giant constructed from pure chakra and ocular power, Zeref smiled and nodded: "It is indeed impressive. To be able to fight Acnologia with a human body, even if it failed, is enough to amaze anyone."
Upon hearing Zeref's high praise for Susanoo, Sasuke's eyes gleamed with pride. Just as he was about to say something more, Zeref interrupted him.
"But even the legendary strongest Uchiha, Madara Uchiha, as far as I know, he didn't become Hokage, did he?"
“That’s because…” Sasuke instinctively wanted to refute, but then he was speechless for a moment.
Orochimaru, standing to the side, chuckled and chimed in: "That's because he was facing the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, a man who even surpassed Madara Uchiha and was known as the God of Shinobi."
When Hashirama Senju is mentioned, even Sasuke, who always says that the Uchiha are the strongest, is speechless.
When the topic of the Hokage during the founding of the village came up, Orochimaru became interested and added, "I once heard Hiruzen Sarutobi say that when the village was first founded, the First Hokage supposedly wanted Madara Uchiha to be the first Hokage of Konoha."
"Unfortunately, this idea was opposed by his younger brother, the future Second Hokage Tobirama Senju, as well as many other ninja clans."
"The result is obvious: Hashirama Senju became the first Hokage of Konoha, and his younger brother Tobirama Senju became the second Hokage."
Sasuke was surprised to find out about this inside story. The arrogant image of Madara Uchiha flashed through his mind. That guy was so close to becoming the First Hokage of Konoha.
Seemingly understanding what Sasuke was thinking, Zeref gently shook his head: "The moment Hashirama Senju suggested that Madara Uchiha become Hokage, it proved that he understood better than anyone else that no one but him wanted to recommend Madara Uchiha for the position."
"After all, humility is a privilege reserved for the winner."
Unable to refute, Sasuke remained silent for a moment before continuing, "Even if the Uchiha clan has never produced a Hokage before, why say that even if the Uchiha clan hadn't been wiped out, there wouldn't be an Uchiha Hokage in the next few decades?"
Orochimaru's heart skipped a beat upon hearing Sasuke's words.
One of the main reasons he insisted on joining Zeref and Sasuke's conversation was because he heard Zeref say this.
Zeref's confident words made Orochimaru momentarily wonder if Zeref knew some truth about the annihilation of the Uchiha clan.
If Zeref really knew something and told Sasuke, would Sasuke still be able to harbor such extreme hatred towards Itachi Uchiha?
If Sasuke hesitates about revenge, then his plan to acquire Sasuke's body will...
Thinking of this, Orochimaru's eyes narrowed slightly.
But how could Jelf possibly know the truth, such a horrifying truth?
Based solely on historical records and hearsay, even Jelf could never possibly know the truth!
Having figured this out, Orochimaru continued to listen to Zeref's thoughts without showing any emotion.
Zeref smiled slightly and said, "Based on my observations of you and that Uchiha Madara, coupled with some rumors about the Uchiha clan's strength and arrogance, I can already imagine some of the characteristics of the Uchiha clan."
“Powerful, arrogant, family-oriented, and meticulous, these can’t be called flaws, but he is far from being a Hokage and the so-called Will of Fire.”
Sasuke frowned, somewhat puzzled, and said, "Didn't you say that having overwhelming strength was enough?"
Orochimaru then picked up the conversation with a smile, a slight smirk on his lips, and said, "That's because the current Konoha is not the same as the Konoha when it was first founded. Moreover, how could someone as overwhelmingly powerful as Uchiha Madara be so easy to reappear?"
Then, Orochimaru asked Zeref with great interest, "Lord Zeref, what are your thoughts on Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju? These two are hailed as the pinnacle of ninja, their illustrious names still resounding today. You already met them back in Konoha, didn't you?"
Jelf stretched, shifting from sitting cross-legged to leaning against the tree trunk behind him.
He said calmly, "I don't know much about these two, but from my perspective as an observer who doesn't understand the big picture, in a sense, Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju are simply a victor and a vanquished."
"In terms of combat strength, they couldn't defeat Hashirama Senju, and in terms of politics, they couldn't defeat Tobirama Senju. Perhaps the fate of the Uchiha clan was sealed when Madara Uchiha, who was closest to becoming Hokage, left Konoha."
Upon hearing this, Orochimaru, if he hadn't remembered to keep the truth about the Uchiha clan's annihilation a secret, would have burst into laughter and applauded Zeref.
What a brilliant and accurate deduction!
Even as an outsider from another world who only knows a fragmented part of history, he can still see the turbulent fate of the Uchiha clan.
Sure enough, he really enjoys communicating with intelligent people, Orochimaru couldn't help but chuckle.
