Chapter 112 Itachi Uchiha's Illness
Chapter 112 Itachi Uchiha's Illness
In Orochimaru's base, looking at Uchiha Itachi lying quietly on the bed, Orochimaru's eyes gleamed with a strange light.
He couldn't help but lick his lips, his desire barely contained, and he tried again to express himself: "Why don't you give him to me..."
"No way!" Sasuke's face turned cold as he glared at Orochimaru. "You can forget about it!"
If Itachi fell into Orochimaru's hands, he probably wouldn't even have a skin left!
Orochimaru glanced at Zeref, who was examining Itachi Uchiha's body, and sighed with great disappointment.
What a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity...! He had always longed for Itachi Uchiha's body...
After examining Itachi's body, Kabuto pushed up his glasses and looked at Itachi with some amazement, saying, "It's unbelievable that Itachi's body has been pushed to this extent. The fact that he's lasted so long is simply...admirable..."
Upon hearing this, Sasuke's expression became so complex that it was difficult to discern the meaning.
Mavis sighed inwardly as she watched Sasuke stand silently in place. She then looked at Kabuto and asked, "Is there a way to treat Itachi's condition? Using your medical ninjutsu."
Kabuto shrugged and said, "Itachi's bloodline disease is extremely severe. His body is almost completely exhausted. It's hard to imagine how he's managed to hold on until now. This is beyond my medical capabilities. I'm afraid even Tsunade, one of the Legendary Sannin, might not be able to cure him."
Orochimaru's lips curled into a slight smile: "If you let me try researching it, perhaps I can..."
Mavis interrupted with a blank expression, "Alright, you can't, Orochimaru!"
After speaking, Mavis looked at Jelf, who had finished his examination, her gaze searching.
Jelf turned his face slightly away, and said somewhat reluctantly, "You don't still want me to go and save this guy, do you, Mavis?"
Mavis's heart softened, realizing that Zeref still harbored some resentment towards Itachi Uchiha's actions.
She walked up to Zeref, gently took his hand, looked directly into his eyes, and said earnestly, "I understand, Zeref, but I want to handle Itachi Uchiha's genjutsu on me myself, is that alright, Zeref?"
Jelf stared at Mavis's incredibly serious gaze for a long time without saying a word, until finally a helpless smile appeared in his eyes.
His slightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed, and he said helplessly, "I understand, Mavis. It's my fault. I knew you didn't like the way revenge is done."
Mebius remained as kind as when they first met, even towards a stranger like herself, with the purest goodwill.
Looking at the two holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes, surrounded by an atmosphere that seemed to be filled with pink bubbles, Sasuke suddenly felt a pain in his teeth.
He hesitated for a moment, but couldn't help interrupting, "So, this guy... Itachi's current condition, Zeref, Mavis, do you have any solutions?"
Upon hearing Kabuto's diagnosis, Sasuke felt as if his heart was about to stop for a moment.
Will Itachi... die of illness? This thought startled Sasuke.
He never imagined that Itachi could die in any way other than by his own hand.
But now, after he learned the truth, before he even made a final judgment on Itachi Uchiha, Itachi is about to die?
How could this be?! What right does Itachi have?! Sasuke's clenched fist trembled slightly.
Upon hearing Sasuke's voice, Mavis realized that her attention had been unconsciously diverted. Her face flushed slightly, and she withdrew her hand to cover it up, making a fist and coughing lightly.
Zeref cleared his throat and brought up the issue that Sasuke was most concerned about: "Itachi Uchiha's physical condition stems from his Mangekyou Sharingan."
"The Mangekyou Sharingan...?" Sasuke subconsciously raised his hand and gently covered his eye socket.
Zeref walked to Itachi's bedside, raised his hand and pressed it lightly against Itachi's eyes, feeling the cold eye power that was somewhat similar to but different from Sasuke's, and a playful look flashed in his eyes.
"The Sharingan is really interesting. It's clearly part of your Uchiha clan, yet it constantly draws power from your bodies to sustain itself."
"It's as if your bodies can't match your powerful eyes."
"Oh?" Orochimaru was drawn to this somewhat novel statement.
A thoughtful look appeared in his eyes as he said, "Indeed, unlike other bloodline limits, the Sharingan has strict and distinct levels: one tomoe, two tomoe, three tomoe, and then the Mangekyou Sharingan, which only a very small number of Uchiha clan members can awaken."
"The Sharingan is inherently a power that is difficult to adapt to. Apart from the Uchiha bloodline, if the Sharingan is transplanted into other ninjas, the recipient will not be able to adapt at all and may even die."
Sasuke listened quietly with a straight face, then suddenly said, "But Kakashi successfully transplanted the Sharingan."
“Yes,” Orochimaru raised an eyebrow and said, “but he has no way to shut down the Sharingan and can only have his chakra drained by it year after year.”
Zeref raised his hand and hovered it above Itachi's eyes. A small, intricately patterned magic circle appeared at his fingertips and vanished from Itachi's eyes in an instant.
Although it was fleeting, and Mavis didn't have time to see it all, her magical skills allowed her to discern some clues. She asked, "Did you seal Itachi Uchiha's Sharingan, Zeref?"
Kabuto Yakushi said, "Sealing techniques? A simple seal might alleviate the problem, but it probably won't be able to stop Itachi Uchiha's body from decaying."
August patted Sasuke, who unconsciously showed signs of nervousness, and explained, "Rather than a seal, it's more accurate to say that Father completely froze the Sharingan in its current state, interrupting Itachi's body's chakra transmission to his Sharingan."
"Even in Asland, the only person who can manipulate magic with such precision is probably my father."
Although Sasuke didn't fully understand the principle, the fact that Itachi's face suddenly regained some color when Zeref removed his arm was already quite convincing.
Orochimaru couldn't help but exclaim, "Lord Zeref, you always manage to surprise me!"
Sasuke, somewhat excited, continued to ask, "So, is Itachi's physical problem resolved now?"
"If you're willing to let me gouge out his eyes now, then that'll be the end of it," Jelf said calmly.
Seeing Sasuke's slightly joyful expression suddenly freeze, Zeref added, "It should be said that even if we gouge out his Sharingan now, it probably won't restore his body to normal."
"Your Uchiha Sharingan is practically alive."
