Chapter 15, Slaying the Wasteland
Just then, Ron suddenly noticed that the energy in all directions seemed to be showing signs of decline.
Ron didn't understand what was going on, so he looked at Taiichiro.
Taiichiro also looked in that direction with a surprised expression, and he said.
"It seems that a very powerful energy has appeared there, completely suppressing all other energies."
Ron said.
"What kind of energy is that?"
After saying that, he got up to see what was going on.
Just then, Ron suddenly realized that there seemed to be many curses lurking around, all of them surging in this direction.
Ron's expression changed drastically.
"They've discovered our whereabouts; we need to get out of here as soon as possible."
But just as they were about to leave, they suddenly discovered that all four doors were locked.
Moreover, those doors were exceptionally sturdy; he couldn't push them open even with all his might.
Taichiro, standing to the side, said very urgently.
“I can feel the curse has arrived here.”
Ron rushed forward, wanting to check the information about those people again, but he found that they had already disappeared.
"Damn it, where did they go?"
Ron said with great concern.
Taiichiro asked with some confusion.
"Could it be that they all devised a scheme with their own curse to lure us here?"
Ron shook his head.
"It doesn't seem like it, if the other party wants to attack us."
They could have done it much earlier; there was absolutely no need to lure us here.
The aura of the curse outside grew stronger and stronger, and Ron could feel an extremely terrifying power surging from within that curse aura, a power that made Ron secretly alarmed.
Taichiro, who was standing to the side, suddenly opened his eyes wide and looked ahead.
Ron followed his gaze and saw what appeared to be a strange scroll not far away.
Ron quickly stepped forward, unfurled the scroll, and found it filled with some very strange lines.
Ron couldn't understand it, and even Taiichiro looked puzzled.
"Why is this thing here? We didn't see it yesterday."
Ron nodded, presumably this thing must have been left behind by those people.
What exactly are their intentions? There seems to be a triangular symbol marked in the center of the scroll.
Ron observed carefully and found that, apart from this symbol, the other lines were all chaotic and disorderly.
It's impossible to figure out what's going on.
Ron frowned as he spoke.
"Since the other party left such a message, they must have wanted to tell us something, but we can't find anything."
Taichiro said.
"Perhaps they just want to pass a message to their people, not to us, and others may know their code."
These things look like coded messages; someone who doesn't understand them would have no way of knowing them.
Ron first put the scroll away and hid it in his pocket, then he said.
"We'll break through this door in one fell swoop."
Taiichiro suddenly spoke.
"We can't open this door, but can those cursed ones open it? If this door can protect us."
Then we don't need to go out at all.
Ron paused for a moment, then thought about it and realized that it made sense. So he and Taiichiro waited quietly to the side.
The aura of the curse grew stronger and more pronounced.
Suddenly the whole room began to shake, presumably because the curses had begun their attack.
Taiichiro's eyes widened; he was extremely nervous.
Even Ron was very nervous.
A terrifying aura surged towards this direction like a tidal wave, almost engulfing the small room.
Along with that aura, an even more terrifying power was transmitted in an instant, and the entire room began to shake violently.
Ron calmed himself, knowing that this was the most dangerous moment.
If we can withstand this, then these curses won't be able to enter this place.
Then he heard a rapid knocking on the door, accompanied by a familiar voice coming from outside.
"Open the door quickly, we're back."
Taiichiro looked at Ron.
Ron shook his head.
"Don't open the door. It's obvious that it can't be the same group of people from before. Maybe it's those cursed ones in disguise."
At this point, he had already clenched his fist.
The knocking grew more urgent, and the sound carried a hint of anger.
"Open the door! This is our room. Do you intend to take it over?"
Ron's heart sank to the bottom; it seemed that those people had probably already been killed.
Otherwise, how would these curses know of their existence?
Ron looked at Taichiro.
"We must hold this position now and not let those curses in."
Gradually, the knocking turned into banging on the door.
The noise grew louder and louder, and the other party seemed to be getting impatient and wanted to break down the door.
Immediately afterwards, a series of loud noises came from the doorway.
Ron and Taiichiro were both very nervous; they had no idea how many curses were lurking outside.
But the sound was deafening, and it looked like the door was about to be broken open.
Ron clenched his fist, and a surge of magical power formed in his hand; he was ready for battle.
Taiichiro drew his twin swords and held them to his chest.
The explosions grew louder and louder, and the entire room began to shake.
However, the other party did not break down the door, which shows that the door is now very sturdy.
Perhaps those people added a few more layers of defense to it before they left.
Ron breathed a slight sigh of relief.
But before he could even react, the whole room started shaking violently again.
Taiichiro looked at Ron.
"What should we do now? Are we really just going to wait here?"
Ron looked outside.
Although all the windows are now covered by those runes.
However, even through some gaps, one can still clearly see the scene outside.
The outside was filled with black smoke and dust, all of which were curses, now spreading all around and looking very vast.
Ron watched with growing unease.
Although he had encountered all sorts of curses before, none had ever been as powerful as this.
Ron said.
"We'll stay here no matter what, and we can't leave unless the door breaks down."
Taiichiro said nervously.
"It looks like this door won't last much longer."
