The port of Beehive Island was still bustling, but it was a far cry from the scene when the Golden Dawn last arrived, with its swarms of sharks.
An eerie "quiet" enveloped the area; not that there was no sound, but rather that the restless atmosphere had vanished.
The massive Golden Dawn remained anchored in the deep waters of the outer harbor. Its enormous hull, contrasted with the crooked and dilapidated pirate ships in the harbor, resembled an emperor who had stumbled into a slum.
The anticipated siege, triggered by the gold and the huge bounty, did not occur.
Oro stood on the ship's railing, his short golden hair fluttering slightly in the sea breeze that carried a hint of blood.
He gazed into the distance, and the usually arrogant and domineering pirates on the port docks now resembled a school of fish avoiding sharks, only daring to silently spy from afar.
"Oh my, that's surprisingly 'polite'."
Oro smiled knowingly.
Gails walked to his side, her pale blonde braids neatly styled. She looked at the overly "calm" harbor, her brow furrowing slightly. "Aurogo, are you really alright?"
Auro chuckled softly and patted Gals on the shoulder:
"The 'politeness' of jackals is because a more powerful predator has set the rules."
"It seems that our old friend, whom we've only met once, is being very accommodating."
"Don't worry, I'm here, nothing will happen. Lingling and I are coming over, be careful."
"it is good."
......
As the small boat carrying Auro and Lingling cut through the water and slowly approached the inner harbor dock, the black and white figure was already standing at the end of the pier.
Lox D. Giebeck was still wearing his sleek black leather armor, his short black and white hair fluttering in the sea breeze, and a playful smile on his face.
He was not alone; several imposing figures stood behind him.
Wang Zhi, a man with a gloomy face, was someone I had never seen before. He carried a wine jug, had a long sword hanging at his waist, and had sharp eyes.
There were also several cadres of different builds, but without exception, they all exuded a dangerous aura.
They simply stood there, shutting out all the ill-intentioned gazes from the harbor.
"Hahaha! Look who's back! Welcome to our rising stars of the seas, the 'Golden Pirates'!"
Rock deliberately emphasized the words "Golden Pirates," his tone full of mockery.
Lingling had just hopped onto the dock with a small suitcase when she heard this, and grumbled in dissatisfaction, "Why does even this guy call me that..."
Oro followed closely behind, his steps steady as he stepped onto the port.
He looked at Rocks, his face showing no surprise, and calmly replied, "It's quite a grand occasion to have Captain Rocks personally greet us."
Lockes stepped forward, his smile fading slightly, and his eyes swept over Oro and Lingling.
"The World Government is a bunch of sewer rats."
His tone was filled with undisguised contempt:
"They don't want to put in the effort to clean up the mess themselves, so they love to play this trick of using someone else to do their dirty work."
"A bounty, the title of 'gold,' and now pirates, bounty hunters, and even desperate outlaws all over the world will see you as a chest of treasure that can sail on its own."
Rocks seemed quite familiar with the World Government's methods and completely disregarded them.
"Thank you for reminding me."
Oro nodded slightly: "But even if there are many rats, they can't bite through ten thousand tons of gold."
"Well said! Hahahaha!"
Lox laughed again, gave Auro an appreciative look, and turned to wave.
"Come with me, this isn't a good place to talk."
......
Follow Rox into the interior of Beehive Island, through chaotic and wild streets, and finally arrive at the massive stone building in the shape of a skull in the center of the island.
This appears to be an important base of the Rocks Pirates.
The hall was filled with a rugged atmosphere, with animal heads and weapons hanging on the unpolished stone walls, and the air was thick with the mixed smells of alcohol and gunpowder.
Oro placed the small box containing the Magnet-Magnet Fruit on the table in the center of the hall and pushed it toward Rocks.
Lockes opened the box, glanced at the gray-black fruit covered with spikes and ring patterns, and nodded in satisfaction.
Without a second thought, he tossed the box, along with the Magnet-Magnet Fruit, to the man behind him who was holding a wine jug.
"John, it's yours now. Hopefully you can make something of it."
The man named John took the box, nodded, and then silently stepped aside.
Rocks waved his hand again, and several pirates carried up a heavy wooden box.
Once opened, it contains dozens of recording pointers and permanent pointers, with the pointers inside the glass sphere pointing in various directions.
Each one represents an island in the "paradise" of the first half of the Grand Line, and the countless possibilities that accompany that island.
"Pick whatever you like! The auction proceeds for the fruit will be delivered to your ship later."
Lox waved his hand generously, appearing extremely magnanimous.
Oro's gaze slowly swept over the pointers, and he lightly tapped one with his finger.
"The City of Seven Waters"
He pronounced the name of the first permanent pointer: the world's largest, most famous, and most advanced shipbuilding base, the rightful destination for every fleet.
Then, his finger moved to another area: "Alabasta."
Finally, the fingertip stopped on a rather old-looking hand, even with some wear on its wooden casing—
Gaya Island.
Lox keenly noticed Oro's brief glance at the Jaya Island pointer, and he raised an eyebrow:
"Oh? Interested in the legendary Land of Gold?"
Auro carefully put away the three permanent pointers that were handed to him, his expression unchanged, and simply responded:
"I've heard that the history there is very interesting and worth a visit."
The transaction was completed, and the atmosphere seemed to relax for a moment, but Locke leaned forward slightly, his ambitious eyes fixed on Oro.
"Now, let's talk about the future, Oro."
His voice was deep: "Bring your companions and board my ship!"
"Join us, and all that bullshit about the 'Golden Bandits' title will be meaningless!"
"Under my banner, no fool will dare to plot against you, and you can safely build up your strength."
"In the near future, we can share this world together!"
"Power! Territory! Men, women, even transvestites! Anything is possible! Take what you want with your strength!"
Rocks started with a world-class pie.
Oro met his gaze, his tone polite yet firm: "Thank you again for your high regard, Captain Rocks."
"But as I said before, we are more used to taking control of our own course."
"Controlling your own course? Well said!"
Rocks raised his voice, which carried a fiery, inflammatory quality.
"But do you know what the end of this ocean is?"
"It's not about wealth, it's not about fame!"
"It's subversion! It's breaking this disgusting old order!"
He opened his arms as if to embrace the whole world.
