Chapter 112 Slave Contract
Chapter 112 Slave Contract
Chapter 113 Slave Contract
A spatial rift opened above the Mad Lion Gang headquarters. The moment Huo Yuhao and the others stepped out, a violent and oppressive aura surged into the sky.
Before the enemy could react, Wu Tian could no longer contain his anger. He swung his heavy sword down with all his might, and a massive crimson sword aura swept down on the Mad Lion Gang.
"Who?"
The instant Wu Tian attacked, Yan Shi, the leader of the Mad Lion Gang, immediately flew up, unleashing several dark fist imprints towards the sword energy.
boom!
Sword energy and fist imprint collided in mid-air, the violent energy concentration instantly destroying a large section of the Mad Lion Gang's buildings. Although he blocked the sword energy, Yan Shi's figure fell to the ground like a smashed badminton shuttlecock, creating a cloud of smoke.
"Elder Wu Tian! Calm down! Calm down!" Yan Shi's burly figure practically tumbled and crawled out of the ruins, his face filled with panic and bitterness, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, his voice trembling. "It's all that Soul Hall Protector's fault! He forced us! How dare we, the humble Mad Lion Gang, disobey a Dou Zong! We—we were blinded by greed! We were coerced!"
He spoke incoherently. From the ruins, a large number of his subordinates crawled out tremblingly, pulling out boxes of magic cores from their storage rings.
Medicinal herbs and rare minerals are piled up like mountains, reflecting an alluring luster in the sunlight.
"This is a small token of our Mad Lion Gang's appreciation. We hope your esteemed academy will be magnanimous and let us go!"
"Hmph!" Wu Tian snorted coldly, his violent battle aura surging around him. He stared at Yan Shi as if he were looking at a dead man. "Now you know fear? Let you go? Impossible!"
Huo Yuhao's gaze swept over the valuables, finally landing on Yan Shi's face, which was trying to appear calm but couldn't hide the fear in his eyes. His voice was as calm as if he were describing the weather, yet it sent a chill down Yan Shi's spine: "Kill you, destroy the Mad Lion Gang, and all this stuff will be ours. Every day you and your gang exist, you are a threat to the academy!"
The color drained from Yan Shi's face. "I—all members of the Mad Lion Gang—are willing to submit to Canaan Academy!"
"I'll do anything, even be a slave! I just want to survive!" he practically roared, with his last hope.
"Submit?" Huo Yuhao's lips curled into a cold smile. "Fine. If you accept soul control, you are allowed to submit."
"Spirit—soul control?!" Yan Shi was struck as if by a heavy blow, staggering back a step, a bitter smile more painful than a grimace. "Then—then am I still me?"
"If you don't want to, then die!" Wu Tian shouted, raising his greatsword again, ready to slash at the Mad Lion Gang.
"Wait!" Yan Shi trembled, "I, I'm willing—"
Yan Shi hesitated for a while, but couldn't bring himself to say anything.
Elder Bai frowned, looking at Huo Yuhao with concern in his eyes, and transmitted his voice through his soul power: "Elder Huo, your soul—"
He clearly remembered Huo Yuhao's swaying state after saving people. He was somewhat worried that controlling so many people might place an extremely heavy burden on Huo Yuhao's soul.
Huo Yuhao pondered for a moment, recalling some knowledge that Elder Yi had once taught him.
"It's alright." Huo Yuhao raised his hand, and a blank scroll floated in front of him. He gathered pure spiritual power at his fingertips and quickly sketched on the scroll. The gray lines spread and intertwined like living things, exuding a cold, mysterious, and unsettling aura of restraint.
Soon, a contract shimmering with the faint glow of a dark soul was formed.
"This is a soul oath. Sign it and use your soul power." Huo Yuhao pushed the scroll forward.
Yan Shi accepted the scroll with trembling hands, as if holding a red-hot branding iron. The text on the scroll was concise and domineering:
I voluntarily join Canaan Academy and will never betray it. I will absolutely obey all the Academy's orders and am willing to give everything for the Academy.
"What's the difference between this and soul manipulation?" His voice was hoarse.
"The difference is," Huo Yuhao's voice echoed like the depths of an abyss, "that you can retain your own consciousness, only you cannot break the oath. Otherwise, you and your subordinates can have your own lives!"
To help Yan Shi strengthen his resolve, Huo Yuhao summoned Protector Xue.
"Perhaps you'd rather accept soul manipulation than make a vow?"
Seeing Protector Xue, the former nightmare demon, now standing respectfully beside Huo Yuhao with empty yet fanatical eyes, Yan Shi felt a chill run down his spine and couldn't help but smile bitterly: This guy who likes to control others has actually been controlled by himself, how ironic!
Yan Shi turned around, his gaze piercing through the crowd, fixing on a pale-faced, trembling young man—his son. That one look contained so much struggle and resentment.
In the end, all emotions dissipated into a deathly despondency. Yan Shi closed his eyes, his voice dry and hoarse like sandpaper scraping: "Fine—I, I accept the soul oath."
Yan Shi closed his eyes, his facial muscles contorted. The power of his soul's origin surged forth with difficulty, imprinting his soul mark at the end of the oath.
The instant the oath was fulfilled, he "saw" it! A cold, invisible chain instantly wrapped around his soul!
The chains emanated an absolute will to die. Yan Shi had no doubt that if the slightest thought of violating the oath arose, the chains would tighten instantly, utterly shredding his soul and consciousness! Even if his soul were several levels stronger, he would not be able to escape the chains' restraints!
However, Huo Yuhao did not stop. The instant Yan Shi's soul imprint was completed, he stepped forward, his cold fingers carrying an irresistible force, and directly touched Yan Shi's brow!
[Soul Search]!
Yan Shi felt as if his head had been pried open by an invisible giant hand, and countless fragments of his memory were being roughly rummaged through.
Examine.
Humiliation and fear overwhelmed Yan Shi. Yet, he couldn't even muster a thought of resistance, the icy touch of the soul chains constantly reminding him of this.
After a moment, confirming that nothing unexpected had happened, Huo Yuhao withdrew his finger, his eyes relaxing slightly: "That's enough."
The same process was applied to all members of the Mad Lion Gang. Most of them, their faces ashen, had their souls branded onto the scroll.
Only a few mentally unstable individuals, unable to grasp the situation, attempted to resist or flee. To this, Wu Tian grinned maliciously, his figure flashing like lightning, his ferocious fists instantly blasting them into several bursts of bloody mist!
"Elder Huo, shall we pack our things and head to Canaan Academy?" After everyone accepted the soul oath, Yan Shi came to Huo Yuhao's side. He had already realized that this young elder was the leader.
"No need. You can stay here for now, and we'll arrange your whereabouts later," Huo Yuhao said.
Looking at the bloodstains and the Lion Gang members whose eyes were either numb or terrified after signing the contract, Wu Tian said with some irritation, "Why bother with all this? Just kill them directly, it's easier and less troublesome! Keeping these opportunists around, they might turn on us again someday!"
