Chapter 549 Reinforcements in the Audience
Chapter 549 Reinforcements in the Audience
Dakdo solemnly retrieved the fallen Yan Emperor.
He looked at the precious ball in his hand, his heart filled with complex emotions.
The Sacred Flame, which Entei had painstakingly learned and used as his trump card, had unexpectedly become fuel for Charizard to enhance its own flame power. No one could have predicted this situation.
What troubled him even more was that the Flame Emperor's proudest super-speed attack was actually blocked by the fire-breathing dragon through sheer brute force. Was such a thing even possible? The power of fire was unparalleled, and even its pure power was terrifying.
What exactly are the weaknesses of this Charizard?
He looked at the orange-red figure in mid-air.
Mega Charizard basked in the still scorching sun, its massive wings flapping slowly. Although it was not unscathed from its battle with Entei, and still bore the marks of being burned by holy flames, its fiery pupils still burned with a soaring fighting spirit, showing no sign of weakness.
Its aura was even stronger than when it first appeared, it seems that defeating the Flame Emperor has really given it a lot of confidence.
Dakdo took a deep breath, calming the turmoil in his heart.
He quickly calculated his remaining strength in his mind. Although he still had cards in his hand that could suppress Fire-type Pokémon, he would be in a predicament if Ash followed suit and traded Pokémon.
Even if the audience doesn't think it's shameful for Darko to keep changing his hand while holding legendary Pokémon, Darko himself would find it somewhat embarrassing.
If he were to actually do that, he would be far removed from the "hero" he had always wanted to be, which was not the outcome he desired.
In Darkrai's view, the most troublesome monster for Darkrai, Primeape, has already been defeated. It was the only creature that could ignore Darkrai's black hole.
But now that Ash probably doesn't have any Pokémon that can resist sleep, Darkrai is probably a more versatile choice.
Thinking of this, Dakdo regained some confidence. He put away Emperor Yan's treasure ball and then took out another treasure ball and threw it out.
"Go out there, Darkrai!"
Darkrai has returned to the battle arena, and its stamina has clearly recovered considerably since it was first recalled.
Ash naturally understood that Charizard was not the best choice when facing Darkrai, which was good at hiding and concealing itself. Charizard was at a disadvantage when battling an opponent who was good at hiding.
"Come back, Charizard."
Ash's voice rang out, and Charizard let out a deep roar before transforming into a red light and returning to its Poké Ball.
Ash has lost the battle against Darkrai, but he has other options, and the current situation is the perfect time for it to make its appearance.
However, Ash did not immediately throw out the next Poké Ball as he had done before.
Amidst the puzzled gazes of the audience, Ash slowly turned around and faced the audience.
On the huge stands of the Lily of the Valley Arena, the audience whispered among themselves, wondering what Ash was doing. Darkrai on the opposite side also frowned slightly, looking at Ash's actions with confusion.
Ash's gaze pierced through the crowd and landed on a corner of the stands.
A smile of excitement curved his lips; his voice wasn't loud, but it carried clearly throughout the entire arena.
"I'm counting on you for this battle!"
The audience remained completely bewildered.
Hikari, Brock, Alan, Kohei, and Shinji—all the people cheering for Ash looked at each other, not understanding who Ash was calling for. But at this moment, shouting towards the audience clearly meant that there was unexpected reinforcements.
"Since you've already made the decision, don't let yourself regret it."
In the front stands, an old man gently patted the hooded figure beside him. "Perhaps I'll never have the chance to fight alongside him again. Make the most of this opportunity to show yourself."
The figure being gently patted by the old man nodded slowly. Then, in everyone's eyes, a black figure suddenly leaped down from the high platform. The figure was agile and swift, drawing a perfect arc in the air, and quickly landed next to Xiaozhi on the side of the field.
Upon landing, a powerful gust of wind instantly spread out, causing the black hood draped over the figure to flutter loudly.
The cloak billowed in the wind as the figure reached out from under the hood, grabbed the cloak, yanked it outwards, and tossed it high into the air. The cloak then drifted away and landed outside the arena.
And the figure that jumped down from the stands finally revealed its true form at this moment.
It was a majestic figure, with most of his body covered in blue-black fur, and his gaze was cold yet unable to conceal his excitement.
At the same time, on the large screen above the arena, the third of the six Poké Ball icons next to Ash's portrait lit up. The next second, the third Poké Ball icon transformed into the portrait of the Pokémon appearing in the arena—Lucario.
Xiao Guang and Xiao Gang in the stands finally recognized its identity.
Xiao Guang asked Xiao Gang in a questioning tone, "Could it be that child?"
Brock nodded, a hint of nostalgia and relief in his eyes: "There shouldn't be any mistake, it's that Riolu that uses Aura Sphere. I didn't expect that after so long it would have evolved into Lucario, and it even came all the way here for Ash's finals... Considering its status, to fight alongside Ash's Pokémon in such a public setting must have taken over many obstacles..."
Lucario walked past Ash on the field. It first lightly touched Ash's outstretched fist, making a crisp sound, and then extended its palm and gently joined Pikachu's palm, as if to say hello.
"I'm counting on you for this battle, Lucario." Ash's voice was filled with complete trust.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu called out at the opportune moment, expressing its support.
Lucario gave a casual reply, his gaze fixed firmly on Darkrai on the other side of the field and Darkrai in front of him.
After identifying its opponent, it finally stepped onto the competition stage, each step carrying a steady strength.
As it walked toward the center of the field, it raised its hand and hung the thing that it had been clutching and hiding in its free hand around its neck.
It was a pendant, somewhat similar to the one Charizard wore around its neck when it first appeared, but the color was slightly different.
The pendant also features a shimmering crystal, with red and blue colors intermingled in its center, giving it a dreamlike glow when exposed to sunlight.
Upon seeing this, Dakdo sighed.
He looked at the pendant around Lucario's neck and guessed that this Lucario could probably evolve again. He thought to himself, "So it really isn't that easy after all..."
Seeing that both Pokémon and Trainers were ready, the referee raised his flag.
"Game start!"
