"It's not impossible."
tide Jian was amused by her question and flicked her forehead.
Chapter Ninety-Six: Clothes Never Worn
When Shiomi returned to her room, she saw the lights were off and Morgan was sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed in what looked like a very glamorous outfit. It must be the dress that Habertlot had kept.
However, Habertrot wasn't in the room either; she probably left after helping Morgan change his clothes.
"Aren't you going to turn on the lights?" Morgan asked.
"Sorry, I was still a little surprised and was momentarily stunned." Shio smiled and turned on the room light.
Although it's visible in dim light, it's still not as good as seeing it with the lights on.
As the lights came on, tide Jian felt that the room was so bright that she couldn't open her eyes, even though the lights shouldn't have been that strong.
He opened his eyes wide and nodded to himself.
The reason the room seemed so dazzling was because of Morgan.
Wearing a pure white dress, compared to the predominantly black dress, this outfit seemed more fitting for the title of Winter Queen, only lacking the cool and decisive temperament.
If Morgan were to rule Camelot and the northern part of the Fairy Kingdom dressed like this, the fairies would probably be even more unruly than before, and wouldn't be afraid of him.
“My husband… don’t stare at me like that. Even after all these years, I feel shy when you observe me from every angle while I’m wearing new clothes.” Morgan’s cheeks flushed slightly, but her face was radiant with a bright smile as she spoke.
“After all, as I remember it, the dress that Habertlot designed for you at the Textile Bureau wasn’t a solid color; she planned to embroider roses with purple silk thread on it,” Shiomi recalled. “Now that I look at it, it’s actually decorated with white roses.”
Morgan smiled faintly at him: "Wasn't it you who suggested that your dress be embroidered with roses in silver thread..."
"Hmm, and then?" tide Jian didn't ask any questions after that, leaving everything to Habertlot.
“Then Habertlot said that if that were the case, your clothes should be mainly black. To reflect the hierarchy between the king and the fairy queen, she suggested that my dress be designed in pure white.” Morgan leaned on Shiomi’s shoulder. “But… in the end, you know all about it.”
"I'm sorry," Shiomi said softly. "There might have been more reliable methods to thwart the conspiracy back then, but I—"
Morgan raised her hand and gently pressed it against his lips: "You have endured the island goblins' unchanging stupidity for three thousand six hundred years. Even if I can forgive them, I cannot make you forgive them as well. Although it is cruel, I have never believed that any of your past choices were wrong."
The past is like smoke and dust. Looking back now, more than the pain of their ideals being shattered, what remains in their hearts is a sense of calm after weathering many storms.
"Let's not talk about those unpleasant things." tide Jian shook her head. "If we hadn't suddenly started talking about clothes today, I'm afraid you and Habertrot would have made a mistake, and the clothes would have been gathering dust sooner or later."
“After all, I never imagined things would take such a dramatic turn, and neither did you.” Morgan held his hand. “I knew that breaking your seal would destroy Britain. But I never expected that Britain would be completely destroyed in just one day.”
As a result, many things that people wanted to take with them disappeared in the disaster, and only memories remained.
But she added, "However... the most important things, the things I least wanted to lose, are still here. So I don't regret it."
We lost him, we lost Bavan Shi, we lost Tertrol.
No matter what it was, I couldn't accept it, but because we worked together, we managed to preserve it all.
"That's good." tide Jian kissed her forehead, then gently rubbed her hair with her cheek.
"By the way, have you noticed... Habertlott has completely lost her former volatile temper?" Morgan said with a smile.
“Having found your purpose in life as a fairy, you naturally won’t be so anxious anymore.” tide Jian stroked the back of her hand. “Or do you think being a little more irritable makes you seem more energetic?”
“Let’s forget about it.” Morgan shook his head. “I can’t help but think back to when we first met. We exchanged a few words and started fighting. It makes me realize that even the fairies on the island can grow up.”
“But there are too few fairies like that.” tide Jian shook her head.
“Indeed.” Morgan suddenly sat up, grabbed his face, and looked into those familiar eyes. “Although it sounds a bit strange, since I’m wearing this outfit, treat me like your bride today, okay?”
“No wonder you told me to come to your room instead of Habertlot’s studio.” Shio wasn’t surprised at all, and instead put her arm around her waist. “As expected, your magic power is still not enough.”
“You could say that. Besides what you're supposed to get, I want to store some extra. After all, once we step into the Great Temple, there's absolutely no time to rest.” Morgan's eyes were alluring, but her calm tone was like a string about to snap. “And then—”
"And then?"
“I hope that this memory will become one of the most important things you have as a human being.” Morgan gently bit his lip and said at very close range, “Facing Zeus or even alien gods would be very difficult if you couldn’t fight them as a complete god.”
"You've really gone to a lot of trouble." Shio knew that Morgan's decision wasn't simply based on romantic feelings.
That feeling of being deeply understood at all times made the softest part of his heart sway gently with each word.
"It was just something I came up with on the spot. Even though I've created so many memories so far, I still feel it's far from enough." Morgan smiled, her eyes crinkling. "I guess I've become just like you, greedy."
“This isn’t greed, it’s just a natural feeling.” tide Jian smiled, pursing her lips.
“That’s the problem with you,” Morgan suddenly joked.
"Ok?"
“You always manage to rationalize my words and actions, ever since the day we first met.” Morgan looked at him. “It’s quite remarkable that I haven’t become eccentric because of your excessive pampering.”
“That means you’re an incredibly good woman. Even if you’re spoiled and arrogant, you’ll still keep your boundaries.” tide Jian hugged her tighter. “But I’m different.”
“It is indeed very different, but I don’t want to discuss it now. Right now, you can only have eyes for me.”
"No, I mean—" tide Jian whispered in her ear, "I'll try not to ruin this precious dress, but... if I accidentally get it dirty, please don't be angry, okay?"
"As expected~"
Morgan's final answer was so gentle and tender.
Chapter Ninety-Seven: The Finale
The once exquisite and beautiful sky garden of the grand temple is now covered by dense and messy trees, which are vibrant yet chaotic, making the garden, which was originally full of rational design aesthetics, look primitive.
"See these things?"
Kirshtalia stood in the pavilion in the courtyard, looking at the sky garden that was entangled with twisted branches, resembling a primeval forest.
"Isn't there anything we can do? King Xiang really likes this courtyard..." Hinako Akuta said discontentedly.
Peperonchino pursed his lips but remained silent. Instead, he raised his hand and aimed at a medium-thickness branch. A blazing fireball flew out, striking the branch and causing an explosion.
The flames of the supernatural power instantly ignited these pristine trees, and all branches and leaves, regardless of thickness, within a ten-meter radius of the ignition point were completely burned away.
It's as if a piece of the primeval forest has been scooped out; a large chunk has vanished out of thin air, making it an extremely efficient form of logging for the trees.
But in the blink of an eye, the charred ends of the tree trunks began to tremble.
“This is…” Hinako Akuta was shocked.
New green buds sprouted and grew rapidly from the charred branches that should have been dead, eventually growing lush green leaves and vigorous branches that covered the missing parts.
Although the overall form has changed slightly, it seems as if the burning happened several years ago, giving people a sense of disorientation as if it were from another world.
“You see, Hinako. With our strength alone, we simply cannot destroy these trees that have grown all the way from the interstellar city to the courtyard.” Peperoncino said solemnly.
"not only that."
Kirshtalia raised her wand and unleashed a pure magical spell that pierced through the protruding rock of the courtyard wall, leaving a smooth gash.
Then the rocks trembled rapidly, as if they were alive, quickly recovering and becoming even more rugged.
Just like the destruction Kirshtalia just committed, it was a futile effort, like the story of the Foolish Old Man Who Moved Mountains.
"...What exactly happened?" Hinako Akuta began to feel a little nauseous.
The flowers, grass, and trees are fine, but why do even rocks and soil revert to their original state?
“This is the dilemma that Zeus is in now,” Kirshtalia said. “By setting up a barrier to seal off the interstellar cities and cut off communication with the Great Temple, we can trap Chaldea inside and prevent them from interfering.”
This will consume a lot of magic power within the Imaginary Tree, but it's worth doing as long as it eliminates the threat.
However, Zeus's plan quickly fell apart.
The mountains and trees that suddenly grew from the land of the interstellar city became the Tower of Babel, which was enough to reach the Great Temple, and the sealing of the barrier became a meaningless act of sealing.
Even more so, the Great Temple is now unable to use severe weather to interfere with the lower realms.
The barrier focused too much on preventing passage, ultimately leading to a two-way result.
“It’s like a divine feat,” Peperoncino exclaimed. “No… it was a miracle after all. After all, what we saw before the barrier closed was that the person used a power similar to Demeter’s Noble Phantasm.”
“It seems that staying here and standing guard with you was the right decision.” Hinako Akuta understood Kirshtalia’s arrangements even more now. “However… the final outcome might not be so good.”
After saying this, she turned and left, preparing as much as possible for the final battle that could break out at any moment.
“Now only Caenis is left. Even with me, our fighting strength is very limited.” Peperoncino asked Kirstalia seriously, “Demeter and Aphrodite, having lost the remaining Mecha God Zeus, have begun to use the magic of the Imaginary Tree.”
Magellan, the imaginary tree of Olympus, is now the largest repository of magic on this planet.
This was something that was originally meant for the Hidden Ones to use, but Kirshtalia tacitly approved of Zeus's actions. Otherwise, Zeus's use of magic to seal off the entire interstellar city would have been enough to break their alliance.
“It’s alright. Zeus is an opponent I must face, but that doesn’t change the fact that Shiomi-sensei… no, Chaldea is my greatest enemy.” Kirshtalia smiled calmly.
"Oh?"
“I have a feeling that Shiomi-sensei has lost all interest in fighting me. He will entrust this battle to the person he trusts most…” Kirshtalia said thoughtfully. “Queen Morgan of the British Lostbelt and goddess Skadi of the Norse Lostbelt are both top-tier magicians. My enemy will probably be among them.”
“And there’s also Queen Scáthach… I heard that the Grand Puppeteer, Aozaki Touko, is also on Chaldea’s ship for some reason.” Peperoncino.
“If we don’t pursue magic battles… that’s possible.” Kirshtalia said with a relaxed expression. “But that would be a bit of a shame. I would like to learn magic from those magicians who have transcended human intelligence.”
At this point, he shook his head: "In any case, the final battle must be fought with the great god Zeus. 'The world of gods is at stake in a war,' that was the condition for cooperation that Zeus proposed."
“Ha…” Peperoncino sighed, “Then I think there might not be that chance. If you are held up by the great magician of Chaldea, even if Zeus wins a Pyrrhic victory over Mr. Shiomi in the end, he probably won’t have the strength to reverse the defeat in the battle against you.”
“An agreement is an agreement, and I will do my best to uphold it, and the other party should do the same,” Kirshtalia said.
“It’s just like a human being,” Peperoncino said.
“Of course they look alike. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to hold the throne of ‘the god who rules over mankind.’” Kirshtalia looked around at the trees and rocks in front of her. “To be honest, if there wasn’t a battle that had to be fought, I would also like to witness Zeus’s battle with that man.”
“Both sides defy common sense…and what good will witnessing it do?” Peperoncino sighed deeply. “Or do you think Zeus will win?”
“Whether Zeus or Chaldea wins makes no difference to me. Even if I face severe punishment from Chaldea in the end, I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong.” Kirshtalia smiled calmly. “Besides, I still have some questions I want to ask that man.”
“At this point, there’s no need for confirmation, is there?” Peperoncino shook his head. “You yourself clearly know the answer.”
“Even if you know it, hearing it from the other person will have a different meaning.” Kirshtalia smiled frankly. “Just think of it as the resentment that someone else has already set their sights on you.”
"Such youthful spirit..."
Peperoncino smiled knowingly upon hearing this and offered this assessment.
Chapter Ninety-Eight: Bewilderment
"hiss……"
Shiomi stretched her arms and walked through the ship's corridor, preparing to go to the StormBorder deck to get some fresh air.
"Pull your collar a little tighter. Even if it goes down in a bit, you'll still feel embarrassed if someone sees it, won't you?" Orange reached out and turned up his collar.
"Whose fault is this, anyway..." tide Jian muttered under her breath.
Orange shrugged: "You're the one who told us the door code."
“…Okay, it’s my fault.” tide Jian covered her face.
Originally, she was in the room with Morgan after they finished, but then her master and the others came over one after another, and then the room was completely in chaos.
Fortunately, Morgan reacted quickly and put the dress she had taken off away away properly, preventing it from getting so dirty that even magic would be a hassle to clean it.
"Just consider this a lucky charm before you set off," Orange told tide Jian with a smile.
"This prize is so vulgar..." tide Jian was amused by Chengzi's words.
He took Orange's hand and led her to the hatch leading to the deck. After passing through several hatches, they saw Olga Marie on the deck through an open door.
And the twin siblings Adele and Macarios who assisted the Alliance of the Gods.
Undoubtedly, Olga Marie was discussing important matters with the two assistants. When she saw Shio coming over, Olga Marie immediately beckoned Shio to come over.
"What are we discussing here? If it's a battle plan, it would be best to call on other people, wouldn't it?" Shio asked.
“No…” Olga Marie shook her head, “I’m just confirming something with Adele and Macarios.”
Orange raised an eyebrow: "Could it be—"
“Cut off the Imaginary Tree.” Macarios said firmly, “That is our ultimate goal now, to destroy Zeus, and then cut off the Imaginary Tree.”
“According to the information I gathered in the interstellar city, although the humans here have lived for a long time, they are very clear about both their status as residents of the Pruned Phenomena and the fact that the Imaginary Tree is related to the survival of this world.” Shiomi looked at the two of them. “As fellow Olympians, you are no exception, are you?”
“Of course. If the Imaginary Tree is cut off, the Lostbelt will end, and the interstellar city of Olympus will disappear... My sister and I will definitely die too..." Macarios's voice gradually faded.
Shiomi nodded: "Once. We only observed the situation from the inside once, when the Lostbelt was on the verge of destruction. Although we can't generalize completely, we were able to get a glimpse of the outcome."
"The great god Zeus has said more than once that the destruction of the Lostbelt means the death of all life within it," Adele said, much calmer.
“But! In this Olympus, both fathers and mothers have abandoned their parental roles of raising children. Here, everyone is under protection! Everyone kneels before the gods, becoming a reed that cannot think!” Macarios suddenly became agitated.
