"But then again, the two of them have lived for a combined total of ten thousand years. They are both impeccable as magicians and warriors, yet they stumbled in a subject like potions. It's really unacceptable."
tide Jian got out of bed, poured two glasses of water, and handed them to Scáthach, but she didn't take them and remained lying there lazily.
"No one can be perfect in every aspect, and besides, this matter isn't that important, so don't worry about it," Scáthach said with a smile, trying to comfort her.
“That’s true. Instead of hoping for Master’s magic potion, it’s more realistic to take Master to cook during the breastfeeding period, right?” tide Jian asked with a smile.
"You're becoming more and more disrespectful to your elders, actually expecting your teacher to cook for you?" Scáthach deliberately put on airs.
"I don't want Master to cook, I want us to cook together." tide Jian clasped her hands together in a pleading gesture. "Even if Master really has no cooking experience, it might be fun to help me out, right?"
“That makes some sense. I’ll consider it if I become interested.” Scáthach extended her hand.
Understanding the implication, Shiomi put down her water glass, took Scáthach's hand, and helped her up.
The Queen of the Shadow Kingdom, who was always as sharp and straight as that crimson spear, was now limp and powerless, a puppet completely at the mercy of her beloved disciple.
"It's alright." Scáthach smiled, her eyes sparkling with allure.
On the one hand, we did go a bit too far, but on the other hand, we really had a lot of fun.
Considering this situation, she has begun to reflect on her actions and will be more careful in choosing the time and place in the future to avoid making a big mistake.
"Master, are you thirsty?" tide Jian brought over the unfinished cup of water.
"Mm," Scáthach replied.
So Shiomi held the cool water in her mouth and transferred it to Scáthach's mouth mouth to mouth. Her throat trembled slowly, and her throat, which had been parched by desire, was moistened again.
After drinking enough water, Shiomi carried Scáthach to the bathroom, placed her in the empty bathtub, and then started running hot water.
"Tell me what you were thinking? Making magic potions is one thing, but to make aphrodisiacs is another..." tide Jian leaned over the edge of the bathtub and asked her master.
"It was a sudden idea," Scáthach said bluntly. "You didn't need to worry about recovery in the first place. Potions are just a way to replenish magic power, and it's enough for them to do that."
“Mmm, so—” Shiomi became a proper listener.
“I fought a fierce battle and even shielded you, my beloved disciple, from Aphrodite. Does that count as a great achievement?” Scáthach asked.
tide Jian was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter: "So Master feels it's too tiring, and wants to find some fun for his disciple?"
“After all, it’s a battlefield where you can’t afford to make a single mistake. You need some time to recuperate,” Scáthach said matter-of-factly. “Besides, my beloved disciple is right in front of me. There’s no reason not to eat food that’s been offered to me.”
“This is the Celtic style.” Shiomi agreed wholeheartedly, after all, he himself was pretty much the same.
But in the end, it's nothing more than adding a few words to today's events, serving as a decorative element for entertainment.
“But I still have to apologize to you for not being able to keep that goddess,” Scáthach said with a lazy smile. “If you could have killed her too, even if you were exhausted at the end, you wouldn’t have let Kilshtalia Wodim escape.”
Almost at the same time that Artoria and her reinforcements arrived, Aphrodite realized that the naval battle was nearing its end and also noticed the appearance of Kirshtalia. She then decided that they should regroup and quickly withdrew from the battlefield.
“How can you blame Master? After all, the opponent is a living god. Since Master couldn’t easily succeed, it’s not surprising that the opponent was able to escape.” Shio shook her head and comforted Scáthach, “The battle has been arduous. Before we advance into the ‘Void Cavern,’ please rest well, Master. I’ll be at your service whenever you call.”
As he spoke, he reached out to test the temperature of the bathtub water, which was already above Scáthach's chest, and then turned off the tap.
Then he knelt by the bathtub and quietly kissed Scáthach's lips.
Fighting together, advancing together, living together...
"What a lonely kiss. Are you preoccupied again?" Scáthach noticed Shiomi's mood.
“Every time I get close to Master, I feel like a stupid disciple who will never grow up and needs Master to always be by my side.” tide Jian chuckled, “There’s a kind of attachment from the bottom of my heart.”
“Of course. I am the first one in all your memories.” Scáthach regained some strength, adjusted her posture slightly, and looked at her beloved disciple while holding onto the edge of the bathtub. “Master, lover, comrade-in-arms, or mother, to you, your master is such a complex existence.”
"Don't say it out loud, I'm a little embarrassed." tide Jian said, then leaned in and kissed him again.
Scáthach was touched by the way he kissed her, and a nostalgic expression appeared on her face.
"You felt the same way when you first kissed me."
"Really?" tide Jian didn't seem to realize it.
"You only dare to give a light kiss, and you don't dare to stick out your tongue." Scáthach sucked on his upper lip. "Whether it's the way you kiss or your skills with women, you learned it all from me."
"Master, don't talk like you're my toy," tide Jian complained helplessly.
Hehe~
Scáthach immediately smiled, pressed her forehead against his, and raised her hand to stroke the hair at the back of Shiomi's head.
tide Jian laughed along, and asked with a slightly teasing tone:
"Does my master love me?"
"How so? That's not a good answer. The word 'love' is too narrow."
"You're so eloquent."
"Not even half as good as my beloved disciple... Hmm~"
Chapter 47 Interval
When we came out of Storm Border, it was already night. Along the road leading from the beach to the villages on Astraea Island, we could see the lights shining in the villages located on the island's highlands.
"Is it alright if we don't stay on the ship to rest?" Shio asked.
“No need to rest. My whole body is filled with my beloved disciple’s magic right now. Resting would just be a waste of time,” Scáthach said frankly, linking her arm with his.
"There's no need to be so blunt."
Scáthach's words almost made Shio choke on his saliva, and he quickly coughed a few times to catch his breath.
“It seems I’ve delayed important matters. Archer Orion was planning to meet with his beloved student, but you’ve been unable to go,” Scáthach said.
“It’s not Master’s fault. After all, they didn’t say when they would go.” Shio shook her head. “Besides, they just went through a fierce battle. Everyone in Chaldea needs time to rest and recover. As a Servant and a warrior, he would understand.”
“It was indeed a fierce battle, and I was almost defeated,” Scáthach reminisced meaningfully.
"...You only say this once you're back to normal, Master." tide Jian was somewhat impressed. "Next time, we should use magic to record Master's disheveled appearance and then relive it over and over again."
"Truly worthy of being my beloved student," Scáthach remarked.
Shio could only grunt and change the subject, then got down to business: "Actually, I'm quite curious, what does Orion want with me?"
“You shot someone else’s lover, and while there’s nothing wrong with that in principle, it’s hard to accept emotionally,” Scáthach said, feigning seriousness. “Perhaps you wanted to duel with me to vent your resentment.”
"Uh...maybe I should just go back then," Shio said.
"Are you really going to run away?" Scáthach asked with a smile, indicating that she wouldn't interfere.
"I'm just saying whatever comes to mind." tide Jian didn't actually intend to avoid the topic.
However, he always felt that his master was deliberately exaggerating the severity of the situation, as if he were about to risk his life.
After all, Artemis was shot down just as Aphrodite attacked, and Orion was also in that temple, besides her master.
Besides that... there's Artemis's clone, or rather, her sub-machine.
If the main unit is shot down, the sub-units will likely stop operating on the spot, or even disappear together.
Shiomi, who didn't know much about the Olympian gods, felt she should consult Romani before disembarking.
Then, tide Jian suddenly had a vague answer.
Seeing the look of sudden enlightenment on his face, Scáthach stopped talking and smiled silently as she accompanied him to the village.
Those in the village together included not only Orion, but also Drake, Bartholomew, Jason, and three other followers.
Aside from Chiyo Mochizuki, who is recorded in Chaldea, the other two were identified as Mandecardo and Charlotte Corday after I heard about them.
They were all followers of the Pan-Human History scattered across the islands of Atlantis. With Olympus reducing its defensive forces, they had more freedom of movement, and thus, thanks to Drake and his group's search, they were able to reunite.
This also enhanced Drake's ship's combat capabilities, providing him with more strategic options for breaking through Poseidon's guard at the "Void Cavern" and heading to Olympus.
Before Shiomi and Scáthach arrived, Nemo Sailor, Ritsuka, and Mashu had already been active on the island, with the aim of arranging some useful supplies.
According to Scáthach, during the two days that Shiomi slept soundly, everyone in Chaldea was finally able to relax a bit because the pressure from Olympus had subsided. The past few days since Storm Border landed have barely had the feel of a seaside vacation.
Shiomi was quite pleased with this outcome.
"—So, what brings you here, Orion?"
tide Jian looked at the man in front of her, who was twice her size, and asked calmly.
"What a beautiful strike! That level of javelin throwing... I doubt anyone in my field of knowledge can match it." Orion boldly praised it first, his expression resolute and full of fighting spirit, as if he intended to challenge Shiomi.
“It’s just copying what others are doing.” tide Jian shrugged. “If it were the great god Odin, it wouldn’t be this complicated.”
"Is that so?" Orion didn't mind Shiomi's modesty. "I asked the director of Chaldea to let me meet you because I have something to ask you."
"What is it?" tide Jian raised an eyebrow.
"Come with me."
Orion lifted the tent flap and followed him inside.
Inside the tent was a makeshift bed, on which lay the silent goddess Artemis's daughter.
"So the activities have indeed stopped." Shiomi knew the answer in her heart.
“This is Artemis’s choice, and I respect her choice.” Orion held Artemis’s hand. “I heard from your master that although the original body in the satellite orbit is completely dead, you can restore her to function?”
tide Jian had a bit of a headache, knowing that her master had promised this hope without consulting Orion and Artemis out of sympathy for them.
Fortunately... he did have a solution.
“To be honest, I would be helpless if it were the main body. But if it is a sub-machine, it is not much different from the Valkyries.” Shiomi squatted down and placed her hand on Artemis’s masked face. “However, don’t expect her to fight alongside you. Without the main body, forcibly reviving her will consume her lifespan. We don’t know how long she can last.”
"I hope this can last at least until my mission in this Lostbelt ends... so I can say a proper goodbye to Artemis." Orion looked lonely.
“Then it depends on whether Chaldea can resolve this issue as soon as possible,” Shiomi said with a chuckle. “According to Kilshtalia, the alien god will soon descend, and things may become even more complicated.”
Orion grinned: "It's not just a problem for Chaldea. We, and our companions who have already gone to Olympus, will fight with all our might for the final victory."
"Mm," tide Jian replied, then removed her hand.
Then, Artemis showed signs of awakening, much to Orion's surprise. He didn't know how Shiomi had managed it, but the truth was no longer important to Orion.
Just as Shiomi had guessed, repairing the submachine was just as difficult as repairing Slud.
He silently left the tent and saw his master toasting Drake by the campfire, joining in the celebration of their previous victory.
Just as Shio was about to go over and have a couple of drinks, she suddenly felt that someone was watching her.
He turned his head, but lost sight of the source of his gaze, and all he could see was the dense forest on the island in the darkness.
Shiomi couldn't help but fall into new thoughts.
At times like these...
Chapter 48 The Secret Meeting of the Goddess of Fertility (1)
While Shiomi was standing there pondering, Scáthach had already noticed that he had finished dealing with the matter Orion had asked him to do, and was raising his wine glass to Shiomi.
"My beloved disciple, come and have a drink!" Scáthach's tone was quite bold, giving her already elegant appearance an even more dashing aura.
"what……"
Startled for a moment, Shiomi came to her senses and quickly walked to Scáthach's side, but declined the wine glass Drake offered her and whispered something in Scáthach's ear.
"Master, I'll be leaving for a little while. Please look after Ritsuka and Mashu."
"Where are you going?" Scáthach asked, surprised.
Shiomi glanced at the Chaldea girls picnicking at the open-air campsite: "It's nothing serious. I'm not sure yet. Let me talk to Master when I get back."
"Whatever you say." Scáthach nodded slightly.
Then Shiomi said she had something to do and wouldn't drink for the time being, and turned to leave the campfire camp, heading towards the forest outside the village, but not towards Storm Border, but in another direction.
Ritsuka and the others, who noticed his actions, were also puzzled, but Scáthach quickly diverted their attention with a few words and brushed them off.
As Shiomi wandered alone through the forest, she sensed that the gaze hadn't disappeared. However, because she blended into nature, it was difficult to be discovered unless she actively revealed herself.
The reason why Shiomi was able to notice was quite simple...
When he reached the other end of the forest, he saw the deserted beach on the other side of Astraea Island, and the massive Storm Border was not even visible from this side.
He found a fallen tree at the edge of the forest and sat down on it.
“If you have something to say, please show yourself and let’s talk. I don’t know why you’re here at this time, but since you don’t seem hostile, you’re probably not here to attack Chaldea.” He spoke in a clear voice.
The sea breeze blew across the beach at night, and the sound of the tide rising and falling could be heard from the distant sea.
It was as if Shiomi was just talking to herself.
However, shortly after he finished speaking, accompanied by a series of quiet footsteps, the goddess, who gave an impression of emerald green, emerged from the shadows.
