"I've left the food here. Eat it while it's hot." tide Jian slowly stood up. "Karen will come to collect the utensils in an hour."
“I have no appetite,” Olga Marie said without looking up.
"Eat as much as you can, don't force yourself. Only by surviving can you atone for your sins." tide Jian smiled quietly. "Anyway, I will be coming every day from now on, so be prepared."
"tide Jian, you—"
“It’s ‘Teacher Shiomi’,” he reminded with a smile. “The monarchs of your generation are all my students. It won’t hurt you to show me a little respect.”
After saying that, Shiomi turned and left her room, leaving Olga Marie staring blankly at the tray on the ground.
"...This is all Eastern food..."
Intro.3 So
Boom-!
Kadoc Zemrups flew backward and crashed onto the floor of the combat simulation training room. Covered in sweat, he struggled to sit up and looked at Shiomi standing in front of him.
"That concludes today's practical training. You performed very well today, Kadoc." Shiomi raised a finger and smiled kindly. "However, it would be even better if you could be more confident when performing magic. After all, the essence of magic is the technique of manipulating phenomena by inducing the subconscious."
“Easier said than done…” Kadoc wiped the sweat that was about to drip from his chin and complained in a low voice.
"Oh dear, Kadoc got beaten up so badly again. The teacher really doesn't show any mercy."
Scandinavian Peperoncino, who was training with him, reached out to Kadoc sympathetically, but Kadoc did not take the hand and instead stood up on his own.
“If you really showed no mercy, you wouldn’t be completely unharmed.” tide Jian put one hand on her hip. “It’s just that you’ve used up too much magic. Go back, take a hot bath, and get some rest. Don’t go outside. Even a magician would freeze to death in Antarctica.”
He spoke in a relaxed and carefree manner, completely unlike someone who had just accompanied six magicians in two-on-one combat training.
If it weren't for the sweat on her body, Shiomi would probably be mistaken for a monster who never gets tired.
"Oh my, how thoughtful. But Shiomi-sensei, could you put me in a group with Debit next time?" Peperoncino jokingly complimented Shiomi before making his request.
Kirstalia and Ophelia, Hinako Akuta and Debit, and Kadoc and Peperoncino.
Combat training is conducted in pairs.
"It was a random draw, so try your best next time! You can even cheat using your supernatural powers, as long as I don't find out," tide Jian suggested with a smile.
"That's a great idea!"
Peperoncino smiled too; he was quite fond of Shiomi, his last teammate to join Group A.
Unlike the coldness often seen in magicians, he has a friendly personality and is more humane than others, able to chat about anything.
After all, the others are either always engrossed in reading, or very serious, or they may appear serious but are actually a bit eccentric in private.
Presumably, in the future, when we act to safeguard human rights, we will be able to cooperate more happily, or at least the atmosphere will be more lively.
While they were chatting, Kadoc had already quietly left.
"Sigh, Cadoc really is something, leaving without even saying goodbye," Peperoncino remarked casually.
"No wonder, although I'm already very good as a magician, I'm still a bit lacking compared to you guys," Shiomi commented honestly. "It's inevitable that I feel some pressure when I'm with you."
“It seems that Shiomi-sensei has placed herself outside the scope of comparison,” Peperoncino criticized.
"Want to compare yourself to me?" tide Jian asked as she walked past him.
“How could that be?” Peperoncino shook his head behind him, then asked the next question seemingly casually, “So, teacher, are you still going to visit the director?”
"If you'd like to come, let's meet near the director's office later," Shiomi said, turning around to invite him.
“I’ll pass on myself. The director needs someone like a teacher, someone who can provide fatherly warmth, more than anyone else in Group A,” Peperoncino said. “No one else in Group A, including myself, has that quality.”
"Well, there's nothing we can do about that."
After saying this, Shio left the combat training room and returned to her room.
Since Morgan had nothing else to do, he could always find her sitting in her room reading whenever he returned. Noticing that Xijian had come back, Morgan looked up and adjusted his glasses.
Despite not being nearsighted, she wears glasses, which Xijian finds makes her look uniquely beautiful.
"Is today's training session over?"
"Hmm, I'll take a shower when I get back, and then go to the kitchen to cook dinner." tide Jian looked thoughtful. "Mary's condition has improved a lot recently."
"Oh?" Morgan looked interested.
“For the first few days, she could only eat a few bites each time I brought her food, but at least she started eating something. These past few days, she's been able to finish most of the meals that are delivered.” Xi Jian thought for a moment, “Do you think it's okay to go back to normal portions?”
“Give it a try. My husband’s cooking is so good. If he gets rid of his anorexia, it’s normal for him to have an appetite.” Morgan waved the book in her hand. “But my husband is really magnanimous. He would take such good care of the enemy’s child.”
Her implication was that at the end of the Fifth Holy Grail War, Maris Billy had used Sakura as a hostage to force Shiomi and Morgan to cease hostilities.
“It’s not really an enemy, since we didn’t really have any enmity.” Shiomi said while taking off her clothes. “Besides, how old was Mary back then? She didn’t even know what her father had done. Sakura didn’t hold a grudge against Mary because of it, so I had even less reason to.”
“That’s true, generally speaking, it shouldn’t be that bad.” Morgan nodded.
"And if we have to say something, you're the one who should be bothered." Shiomi had already taken off her clothes and was about to go into the bathroom. "Don't forget why Sakura participated in the Holy Grail War."
Morgan shook his head: "Even if Sakura really gets the Holy Grail, I would still advise her to change her wish."
"Why? Isn't it good to have a physical body?"
"Does my husband think a real physical body is better than a servant's spiritual body?" Morgan raised an eyebrow, his eyes ambiguous.
"That's not what I meant." tide Jian covered her face.
Morgan reopened the book and continued reading the rest: "It's just that for me, it's more convenient to retain the Servant's Spirit Origin state... in every sense of the word."
"You haven't really been a spirit form since..." tide Jian retorted.
"It has nothing to do with whether or not you can become a spirit." Morgan looked Xi Jian up and down, his gaze tender and affectionate. "Go take a shower, or do you want me to shower with you?"
"Let's skip this time, it's not bedtime yet. I'm afraid I might accidentally make things late." tide Jian shrugged, turned and walked into the bathroom, where the sound of the shower running could be heard.
Morgan rested his chin on his hand, leaning against the table, and casually asked, "How's the combat training going? How well do you understand the skill levels of those other Masters in your group?"
"How should I put it? It feels like they're hiding everything, afraid of revealing their trump card." Shiomi raised her voice slightly as she answered, "After all, she's a natural-born magician; she's still very sensitive to this kind of thing."
“My husband is the same way. He’s always avoided directly displaying the power of the original runes and always pretends to be a modern rune.” Morgan teased Shiomi. “Although his personality and way of dealing with people are not like a magician, he is quite competent in battle.”
"Huh... is this considered a compliment?"
“I have only ever praised my husband.”
"You're making me blush..."
That's it for Intro.4.
When the door to Olga Marie's room was opened, she was sitting at the table reading some documents.
Magicians are generally not well-suited to modern instruments, and Olga Marie was no exception; therefore, most of the materials she consulted were paper documents.
"Are you already planning to go back to work?" Shio asked.
A month has passed since Olga Marie hid in her room. As he said, Shio has come to see her every day, bringing meals he has cooked himself each time.
For the first few days, Olga Marie didn't touch anything, then she started eating a few bites, then half of it, and now she can almost finish the meals that Shiomi brings her.
The restoration of appetite means that the body and mind have returned to normal, and it won't be long before I can return to my work as the director.
"I'm looking at Mashu's file..." Olga Marie was already used to Shiomi coming and going from her room. "About her situation—"
“I didn’t see the incident of the Heroic Spirit Summoning encountering setbacks; I only heard about it from Romani.” Shiomi put down the tray and rested her hand on the desk. “It is said that the moment the Heroic Spirit Summoning was completed, Mash manifested the second Heroic Spirit Summoning Armor on her body and attacked the staff on site in an extremely ferocious manner.”
“…If that wasn’t Mash’s own will to become a Demi-Servant…” Olga Marie’s fingers tightened unconsciously as she gripped the paper, causing it to wrinkle.
“It was probably done by Zero, the Heroic Spirit whom we don’t even know the True Nine,” Shiomi continued. “Just like you feel, that Heroic Spirit must have been a very noble type. He learned of Mash’s plight the moment he descended and decided to punish Chaldea.”
At this point, Shiomi relaxed her tone again: "But don't worry, at least Mash won't be treated like that. According to Romani, who was present at the time, it was Mash who, through her own will, stopped the second Heroic Spirit from going berserk."
“Mash…” Olga Marie was troubled, wondering how to deal with Mash.
“That child was born from a test tube, without normal growth and education; all of his knowledge came directly from Sheba… In the end, he was a baby so pure that he didn’t even have malice,” Shiomi said.
Olga Marie put down the documents and looked up at Shiomi with an inquiring gaze, only to find that he was also looking at the documents in his hand and was too close, which made her heart beat a little faster.
Because of Marisbury's sudden death, she was in a daze when she arrived in Chaldea, only thinking about successfully taking over the business left by her father, and didn't even have time to properly look at everyone there.
Despite having two daughters who are several years older than Olga Marie, Shiomi Tenkei doesn't look mature at all.
The thoughtfulness and tolerance of elders, and the kindness of peers... two things that should not coexist, yet both exist in him.
...Besides, he's so handsome...
She shrank back, leaning against the chair to create distance, and changed the subject: "So how should I treat Mash?"
"This is a decision only you can make. Because she is a child born in Chaldea, born from the long-cherished wish of Animusphia, you will have to face her sooner or later." Shiomi shook her head.
"Yeah……"
tide Jian got up from the table, walked to the side, pulled out another chair, and sat down.
"Let me tell you a story. There was once a baby girl whose biological father was a man who was born unable to feel the happiness of ordinary people and took pleasure in the misfortunes of others. Unfortunately, she inherited this trait and could not empathize with the joys and sorrows of ordinary people. However, unlike her misguided biological father, she did not become a bad person. Instead, she chose to fill the void in her heart with the love she received and became a good girl that her family was proud of."
Shiomi recounted Karen's story in an extremely simple tone, omitting her name.
"You just mentioned biological father, so that means the girl was raised by her adoptive father?" Olga Marie asked again.
“Yes, when she was four or five years old, her biological father realized his true nature and decided to follow his desires and become a villain. But her adoptive father did not see her as a potential villain, and did his best to raise her into an adult who could live a proper life.” As tide Jian said this, she felt a little itchy on her back.
He's really not good at boasting.
Even Karen's current state is indeed inseparable from his guidance.
"That person... no, that girl, does the teacher know her?" Olga Marie was very clever and immediately realized that this kind of thing shouldn't be known by someone unrelated.
If it's just a hearsay story, it's not convincing at all.
"Well..." Shio shrugged awkwardly, neither confirming nor denying.
"..." Seeing that Shio didn't want to talk about it, Olga Marie didn't delve into the details any further.
She already understood what tide Jian wanted to say.
"I'll think about it again," Olga Marie said earnestly to Shio, brushing aside her disheveled hair.
He nodded silently, then gestured to the tray with the food.
"It's lunchtime, let's eat first. We need to be full to have the energy to think."
“Hmm…” Olga Marie looked at the food in the bowl on the tray, “Starting tomorrow, the teacher won’t need to cook for me anymore.”
"Why? You still can't get used to the food?"
“No, I’ve decided to go back to my job as director starting tomorrow.” Olga Marie shook her head, blushing. “Besides, the teacher has a lot to do, and she even made time to cook for me…”
She was surprised that Xijian had such good cooking skills.
“You’re overthinking it. My family doesn’t like the food at Chaldea, so we cook for ourselves in the kitchen. You eat whatever we eat.” After understanding the reason, Shio smiled. “So don’t worry, it’s just a matter of cooking a little more or a little less.”
"Is that so..." Olga Marie was astonished.
“But since you don’t plan to stay in your room, you can come over for dinner whenever you have time,” Xi Jian added. “It’s up to you to decide, just don’t force yourself too much.”
"Ah."
Olga Marie hesitated for a moment, but then nodded in agreement.
"One last question: if I leave now, will you be able to take the dishes to the kitchen to wash yourself after you finish eating?" tide Jian asked again.
“Probably…no…” she said, shaking her messy head.
tide Jian, who immediately understood, realized that she had asked the wrong question, so she laughed it off and glossed over the matter.
The day after that, the Chaldea Director, who had locked himself in his room for a whole month without leaving, reappeared before everyone and slowly but methodically took over all the things left behind by the former Director, Marisbury.
Most importantly, when Romani tried to secure ordinary Chaldea citizenship for Mash, Olga Marie granted his request without any resistance.
Olga Marie's Personal Time in the Prologue
Olga Marie, still feeling drowsy after waking up, stared blankly at the white ceiling of her room.
Six months have passed since the last expedition from New Chaldea on the Wandering Sea to explore the Strange Belt of Britain, and since the return voyage for repairs.
As far as rest and recuperation go, it is indeed a bit too long.
After all, in the past human incineration incidents, after returning from each singularity, they would not rest for more than half a year.
However, with the disintegration of the British Lostbelt, Shiomi Tenkyo returned to Chaldea, and the Russian and Nordic Lostbelts were also wiped out with overwhelming force.
Storm Border and the Chaldea personnel on board did not suffer significant losses.
After all, it was Shiomi-sensei who did the hard work.
