Chapter 158: Trials of Fate and Chaos
Chapter 158: Trials of Fate and Chaos
Isaac slowly stepped into the passage leading to the depths of the Chaos Core. The surrounding void gradually blurred, and the boundaries of space and time seemed to disappear. With each step, he could feel an invisible force pulling him into the unknown depths. The oppressive feeling in the air grew stronger, and an unease began to rise from the depths of his soul, as if all of this was beyond his control.
“This is the origin of chaos…” Isaac murmured to himself, his gaze cold and resolute. His steps were unwavering, each one filled with determination and power. The intertwining of fate and chaos weighed heavily on him like never before, but it was also a responsibility he had to face.
As he ventured deeper, the surrounding scenery suddenly changed. The space before him was no longer an empty void, but a flowing chaos, like countless colorful droplets dancing in the air, each droplet containing incomprehensible energy. This sight filled Isaac with a deep sense of disorientation and unease, as if everything around him had become unreal.
“This is the core of chaos, the true source of the chaotic network.” Isaac took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and forced himself to calm down, his soul power slowly circulating within him. He knew that the deeper he went into the chaos, the more he needed to control his emotions and thoughts in order to truly understand the laws governing this disorder.
However, just as he was about to continue, a powerful force suddenly swept over him. Isaac's body abruptly stopped, his soul's power was firmly locked by some invisible constraint, and the surrounding void became as heavy as swamp. That force had no concrete form, yet it was omnipresent, filling the entire space and attempting to devour every inch of Isaac's existence.
“This power…” A hint of shock flashed in Isaac’s eyes, “The Trial of Chaos?”
As this thought arose in his mind, his soul sensed an ancient and profound will. This will was devoid of any emotion, yet possessed a powerful sense of oppression, as if scrutinizing his every thought.
“Descendant of destiny, you have crossed the boundary.” That deep voice sounded again, echoing in Isaac’s mind, seemingly coming from all directions. “You want to break the opposition between destiny and chaos, to find a balance between the two. However, do you know? Even if you acknowledge the existence of balance, you can only move forward in endless trials.”
“Trials?” Isaac sneered, his gaze hardening. “I am not afraid of trials. Only by undergoing true trials can one understand the ultimate nature of fate and chaos.”
The voice paused for a moment, then rang out again: "If that's the case, then it proves you are worthy to walk this path. What you will face is the true trial of chaos."
Isaac felt a violent tremor in the air around him, and the chaotic scene before him rapidly changed. All colors and shapes began to distort and merge into a boundless vortex. A dazzling light shimmered at the center of the vortex, like a black hole, drawing everything into it.
The light was filled with both boundless allure and danger. Isaac felt his soul power gradually dwindling, and he was overwhelmed by an invisible pressure that made it almost impossible for him to breathe. He knew that this was the beginning of the Chaos Trial.
"Descendant of destiny, you are about to face the deepest fear within your heart." The voice came again, carrying an indescribable threat. "In this chaos, you will be unable to rely on external forces; all rules and order will vanish. You can only rely on your own will to face everything."
Suddenly, the vortex erupted with light, sweeping towards Isaac like a massive tidal wave of energy, almost engulfing him. Isaac did not retreat; his soul power surged instantly, and a huge golden shield formed around him, blocking the impact.
However, he soon discovered that the light was not merely a simple energy attack; it also carried an irresistible allure, as if to draw out all the darkest thoughts and fears from the depths of his soul. Just then, a series of familiar voices echoed in his mind:
Do you really think you can complete this mission?
Can you truly balance fate and chaos?
"You are nothing but a puppet in the network of fate; your existence is merely to serve the order of fate."
"Your efforts are in vain."
These voices swirled within him like venomous snakes, and Isaac's hands trembled slightly, barely able to control his spiritual power. The invisible pressure drew near again, as if to tear his beliefs apart.
However, just as he was about to be swallowed by these sounds, Isaac suddenly jolted, a powerful determination rising from the depths of his heart. His gaze became incredibly firm, his soul power erupted instantly, and golden light transformed into a dazzling pillar of light, piercing through the center of the vortex.
"I am not a puppet of fate!" Isaac's voice resounded throughout the space, filled with unwavering determination. "The balance between fate and chaos is not something your judgment can determine!"
His soul power, guided by the pillar of light, continued to grow stronger, instantly shattering the oppressive feeling. The light of the vortex gradually dimmed and eventually disappeared completely.
"You..." The voice rang out again, tinged with shock, "You succeeded. You actually managed to emerge victorious from this trial."
Isaac's body trembled slightly, but he did not lower his guard. He knew this was only the first stage of the trial, and many more unknown challenges awaited him.
"The true test of chaos goes far beyond this," the voice continued. "You have overcome the initial obstacle, but the next trial will be the moment when you truly confront your own heart."
Isaac's heart raced slightly, but he didn't hesitate for a moment. He knew that only by facing his fears and anxieties could he truly overcome this obstacle. His inner strength grew stronger, and his eyes shone with an undeniable light: "I will not back down. Whatever comes next, I will face it head-on."
As his voice faded, the surrounding void underwent another violent change, the cracks in the vortex closed again, revealing an even more vast space.
There is no light, no darkness, only countless floating points of light, like stars floating in the deep space of the universe, each star containing endless secrets.
"In the next trial, you will face your past, present, and future." The voice spoke again, but this time, its tone carried an undeniable threat. "Whether you can pass this test depends on whether you dare to face yourself."
Isaac took a deep breath, gazing at the interwoven points of light in the void ahead. He knew the road ahead would be even more difficult, but he was prepared to face the challenge. Whatever the future held, he would continue walking through the intertwining of fate and chaos until he truly found the way to balance the universe.
