Chapter 601 The Opposite World
Chapter 601 The Opposite World
Shino, Sakura, and Kiba were driven away by Sasuke.
Sasuke Uchiha stared at Naruto and Satsuki with hostility, his eyes like two smooth, black stones, cold, hard, and devoid of any warmth.
He didn't say a word, but the expression on his face made it very clear: you'd better behave yourselves, or I'll take action.
Naruto looked at Sasuke, but his mind was elsewhere. He noticed that Sakura Haruno in this world didn't have any romantic feelings for Sasuke whatsoever.
It was a complete and utter "non-existence," something that didn't exist at all, from the very beginning. The way Sakura looked at Sasuke was no different from how she looked at his dentist or Shino.
Even in Naruto's world, Sakura really loves to stick close to Sasuke.
Looking at Uchiha Sasuke, who had a foul attitude and whose hand was still on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw it at any moment, Zuo Yue felt a surge of displeasure. This guy's temper was terrible, completely different from her own.
She planned to secretly activate her pupil power and cast an illusion on this guy to resolve the trouble of being arrested and detained.
However, Naruto acted first.
"The qualification for entering the village... is this it?" Naruto rummaged in his pocket and then pulled out two booklets.
He reached out and handed the booklet to Sasuke.
Sasuke paused for a moment. He loosened his grip on the hilt of his sword, not because he had relaxed his guard, but because it was too strange. These two guys had just been looking at each other with blank expressions, as if asking "what are the qualifications for entering the village?" How did they suddenly pull out something like this?
Moreover, the booklet doesn't look fake. The lettering on the cover reflects light under the streetlights, and the paper feels like it's been specially treated. It's not something that can be counterfeited just by using any piece of paper.
He frowned slightly, but still cautiously took it and opened it.
The entry permit was issued by the Konohagakure Immigration Office three days ago and is valid for three months. It has the name… Menma written on it?
Sasuke's gaze lingered on the name for a moment, then swept downwards. The other book read…Satsuki?
Sasuke stared at the two names, which only had given names and no surnames, and a strange feeling welled up inside him. Menma and Satsuki, these two names... he felt like he knew them.
The name "Zuoyue," especially the character "Zuo," which was the same as his surname, made him feel that this woman had some kind of inexplicable relationship with him, which made him feel strange.
Sasuke flipped through the booklet, checking it page by page and word by word.
The issuing authority's seal, the immigration office's stamp, the issuance date, the expiry date, even the paper material and watermark are exactly the same as the entry qualification certificate officially issued by Konoha.
There's nothing wrong with it, no detail is worth nitpicking, it looks real no matter how you look at it.
"If you had this, why didn't you just show it to us from the beginning?"
Sasuke looked up and asked, puzzled.
Naruto scratched his head, a somewhat embarrassed smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "You call this 'entry qualification'? But I actually thought it was called a 'visa'—that's what I call it where I'm from. Different places have different names, you know."
Sasuke looked at Naruto's innocent face and wanted to wear the word "reluctant" on his own face, but he held back.
Since the entry permit was indeed genuine and without any problems, Sasuke had no choice but to accept this reason, even though his intuition still told him that something was off about these two.
But his reason told him, "You can't arrest someone just because of your gut feeling." He then returned the booklet to Naruto.
"Since you have this, don't act so suspiciously." Sasuke's voice was still icy. He completely lowered his hand from the hilt of his sword, preparing to leave. He had already taken half a step forward, but his heel hadn't even touched the ground yet...
"Um, wait a minute!" Naruto's voice came from behind Sasuke.
Sasuke paused, turning around. "What?" he asked impatiently.
"This is our first time here too, Sasuke and I." Naruto took a step forward. "Could you please give us a brief overview of the current situation in Konoha?"
"Me? Are you serious? I was just thinking of arresting you."
"Don't be so cold." Naruto's tone was still relaxed. "Arresting suspicious people is your job, right? Please, this is our first time in Konoha, we really need some answers."
"...Please, this is not a good idea."
Seeing Sasuke's response, Satsuki was a little annoyed. This guy's personality was too cold; he was nothing like himself.
"Come with me. This isn't a good place to talk." Sasuke said this instead. He turned and walked towards the other end of the street.
"...Huh? You agreed?" Satsuki was stunned for a moment.
"Don't misunderstand." Sasuke's voice drifted from the front. "It won't take much time anyway. It's just a side trip." After saying that, he turned his head back, his gaze fixed on the road ahead, no longer looking at the people behind him.
What an awkward personality… Satsuki couldn’t help but think to herself, completely forgetting what she was like when she was a child.
Just as Naruto predicted, as long as Sasuke doesn't defect, he'll still be Sasuke.
The streets suddenly became wider and brighter, and there was a sudden increase in the number of voices.
Then, Naruto and Satsuki finally saw the Hokage Rock.
Sasuke turned around and saw the two staring at the Hokage Rock with blank and curious eyes. He wasn't surprised, as the Hokage Rock was a unique feature of Konoha.
Four enormous faces, arranged from right to left, are displayed on the bare stone wall: Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, and Hiruzen Sarutobi. There are no issues with their arrangement.
Naruto's curious gaze was mainly fixed on the fourth one, while Satsuki was staring at both the fourth and fifth ones.
The Fifth Hokage…not Jiraiya? Not Naruto's teacher? Satsuki looked at the face that wasn't Jiraiya, but was still somewhat familiar. Was Tsunade the Fifth Hokage in this world?
And the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze's familiar silhouette, was gone, replaced by... Satsuki stared at the face with hair styled like a starfish. Who... is this person?!
