Chapter 31 Aomori Anaconda
Chapter 31 Aomori Anaconda
"Fifty gold?"
Before Vichy could react, someone in the adventurer's group suddenly exclaimed in surprise.
"Captain, if we give her fifty gold pieces, we won't have much money left from this trip!"
Vishi looked at the person who had spoken; it was a cat-person.
"Emily, listen to me!" The middle-aged man then turned to Vichy: "I'm sorry, she's still a child and doesn't know the rules. Please forgive her."
"I am Gabo, the leader of the Green Silver Adventurer Group."
"The Green Silver Adventurers?"
Vishi blinked. "I think I've heard of you guys. You're a mid-level adventurer group, and you were active in the Red Marrow Dungeon before?"
"Sigh, it's all just empty fame. The Crimson Marrow Dungeon has been thoroughly explored long ago. Compared to Midoriya, its level of danger is like the difference between a goblin and a troll."
Gabo joked, "I'm not afraid of you laughing at me, but we probably won't be able to clean this cave."
We've already explored the outer perimeter, but we simply can't handle the Aomori python inside. If we go back now, not only will our commission be halved, but our reputation rating will also drop.
After much thought, I still think it would be better to bring in outside help.
After hearing this, Vishi finally understood why Gabo had offered fifty gold coins to let him explore.
Ultimately, it's about choosing the lesser of two evils; that's probably the rule for so-called adventurers.
"Are you so sure I can solve this?"
"Well, anyone who dares to come down here is either a fool or a master. Besides, we'll only settle the bill after you've finished."
Gabo spoke his mind.
"teacher?"
"Catch it, even a mosquito bite is still meat."
Vichy nodded slightly, which could be considered as accepting this temporary employment.
At this moment, the cat-woman Emily started shouting again:
"Do you want a guide? I have a great memory. Give me five gold coins, and I'll take you to see the Aomori Python. It'll save you from wandering around outside for ages. It's a good deal, isn't it?"
"Emily! Stop fooling around!"
Gabo frowned, preparing to shove Emily back in.
But Vichy waved his hand: "Okay, but I can't guarantee your safety."
"make a deal!"
Emily immediately darted out and hid inside the cave, clearly afraid that Vichy would change his mind.
"Hey, please ask your friends to look after her. If she needs anything, she can come to me for help."
Gabo stretched out his hand and sighed, clearly having little control over Emily.
Vichy simply nodded and followed Emily into the cave.
Inside the cave, many towering trees grow wildly, creating a verdant landscape as far as the eye can see.
But Vishi only slightly released the blood, and he immediately sensed a great deal of hostility.
Most of them are first-tier monsters, and there are quite a few large carnivorous monsters like the Lion Scorpion Beast.
In this respect alone, the danger level is far greater than that of the surrounding areas.
"Let's make this clear first: I'll take you a shortcut, but I won't help you fight the Aomori python."
Emily jumped onto a tree branch and looked down at Vichy.
But Vichy simply took a gold coin from his pocket and tossed it to Emily.
"The vegetation here is lush and the magic is strong. There should be Dragon Blood Grass, Night-Shining Flower, and Albino Vine here. Take me there. This is the deposit."
Emily paused, then looked at the gold coins in her hand, and tentatively asked, "Are you an alchemist?"
"no."
"So you're an alchemist's mercenary?"
"No, not exactly."
Emily hesitated for a moment, then nodded and didn't ask any more questions.
After a while, led by Emily, Vichy quickly found a place with lush vegetation.
Vishi glanced around and noticed that the place was filled with signs of battle, indicating that the Green Silver Adventurers had encountered monsters here before.
Fortunately, many intact magical plants still remain here.
"Here it is. If you want to pick them, hurry up."
"It's not safe here."
Emily hid to the side, seemingly wary of something.
But before she could finish speaking, Vichy suddenly moved, grabbed her arm, and leaped up to the top of a tall tree branch.
The change came so suddenly that Emily hadn't even had time to react when a loud bang suddenly rang out.
She looked down and was immediately filled with fear, breaking out in a cold sweat.
A bloody maw opened from the lower canopy and bit off the trunk where Emily had just been standing.
Its entire body is covered in green scales, it has an enormous body, and pale green vertical pupils.
It's an Aomori python.
It smelled Emily's scent and crawled out from the center of the cave to hunt down this intruder.
"Stay here and don't move."
After giving a word of advice, Vishi leaped down, threw off his bundle, and his blood and energy became more active.
"Hey, this monster is highly poisonous! Don't touch its scales!"
Emily was immediately alarmed; she never expected that this hooded man would actually intend to engage in hand-to-hand combat!
She hadn't seen her carrying any weapons before, so she assumed she was a mage or alchemist, which was why she hadn't mentioned it.
But Vishi seemed not to hear her and walked directly toward the giant snake.
However, the Aomori python did not attack Vishi immediately. Instead, it arched its body and emitted threatening wails.
This is both a warning and an attack posture.
The Aomori python had sensed Vishi's unusual behavior and was intimidating her in hopes of avoiding the fight.
But that's impossible; Vichy came looking for it.
The elixir that Shi Qing needs to refine requires snake gall.
Seeing that Vishi did not retreat, the Aomori python became enraged. Its scales emitted a faint glow, and a thick, fragrant poisonous mist instantly spread, enveloping the entire forest.
This is its innate magic—blue poison mist.
Hiding high up, Emily couldn't see the situation under the poisonous fog. She could only hear various noises and the roar of the giant snake, which made her increasingly anxious.
That's a second-tier monster!
Their entire Green Silver Adventurer Team couldn't defeat it; they were all paralyzed by the poisonous fog.
How could this person dare to rush forward all by himself?
No, I can't let this idiot die in there. He still owes me money for future payments!
"Hey! Hang in there, I'm going to get the commander to rescue you right now!"
"If things really come to this, just run! Forget about any reward!"
After saying that, Emily tossed the basic antidote in her arms to the raven who was watching the show, and whispered.
"This is the antidote, quickly give it to your master!"
Raven tilted its head, as if it couldn't understand Emily's words, and swallowed the antidote in one gulp.
"Damn it, how can there be such a stupid magical pet!"
Just as Emily was getting furious, a loud bang suddenly erupted.
She turned her head and saw that a giant tree in the distance had been broken in half, and a giant snake had been blasted into the broken wood, its body covered in blood.
It's an Aomori python.
It was emitting painful howls; the snake's bones below its seven-inch mark had been broken.
At this moment, the poisonous fog dissipated, and Vishi emerged from it, his outer robe stained with blood, and a faint aura of blood emanating from his body.
Vishi stepped forward, grabbed the mouth of the Aomori python, and twisted it forcefully, bringing the monster to an abrupt end.
Emily, hiding in the tree, was dumbfounded, not even noticing that her antidote had been eaten by ravens.
