Mr. Su shrugged and smiled without saying a word.
"So, you like this one?"
Olivia looked at the waiter who was taking orders from other customers. He had black hair, yellowish skin, and facial features that clearly showed Eastern characteristics, but not necessarily. He was probably a mixed-race person with Eastern ancestry.
This was the first time she had ever seen Su take the initiative to strike up a conversation with a girl. She was about to make a few teasing remarks, but Su gently shook his head and stopped her.
That uneasy feeling came back again.
Olivia glanced at the waiter again, wondering if it was some kind of supernatural creature. It seemed that Su was only this proactive when encountering supernatural beings.
Werewolf?
A shapeshifter?
vampire?
Olivia used her limited knowledge of supernatural creatures to try and guess the waiter's identity, but unfortunately, there were no obvious features, and she couldn't make any connection.
The only certainty was that the other party was probably not a vampire, since it is common knowledge that vampires fear sunlight and would not be out working during the day.
"Let's go."
After finishing their coffee, Sue and Olivia got up and left. Before leaving, Sue waved goodbye to Anna.
Get in the car and start the engine.
After Olivia started the car, she turned to look at Su eagerly. Su waved for her to drive first. Once they were out of the neighborhood, Su smiled and said, "You guessed it?"
"A supernatural being?" Olivia asked curiously. "So, what is she?"
"vampire."
"what?!"
Olivia's eyes widened instantly, and she said in complete disbelief, "A vampire? She's a vampire? Aren't vampires afraid of sunlight and can't appear during the day?"
Su's Supernatural Biology Classroom is now open!
"As I said before, there are many kinds of vampires, but all of them are afraid of sunlight and cannot appear normally during the day. However, there are a few ways to allow vampires to live normally in the sunlight without being affected."
"One type is the blood of elves, which can make vampires resistant to sunlight, providing temporary protection, but it is only effective for a short period of time. Both the blood of hybrid elves and pure-blooded elves are acceptable. Note that not all elves will work; it must be a specific type of elf."
"Another type is an item made of lapis lazuli, such as a ring or necklace, which allows vampires to appear during the day. You probably didn't notice, but Anna is wearing a ring made of lapis lazuli, also known as the Sun Ring."
The Sun Ring comes from the American TV series The Vampire Diaries. Su only remembers the material and its effects, but does not know the specific production method and is unsure whether it requires some kind of witchcraft.
Many vampires in The Vampire Diaries have sun rings, and Anna is one of them.
When Mr. Su recognized her, he first observed her hand and confirmed that she was wearing a ring before he took the initiative to say that he wanted to be friends with her and that he came from Mysterious Waterfall Town.
When Sue first met Olivia, he also observed her hands. The reason was that Stefan, one of the male protagonists in The Vampire Diaries, had a female vampire friend named Lacey, who looked exactly like Olivia.
Sue determined whether she was Lassie from The Vampire Diaries or Olivia from Midnight in Texas by looking at the ring.
“Werewolves become police officers and run restaurants, vampires work as waitresses in cafes, and they can live in the sunlight like humans. I’ve lived this long, and suddenly I realize I know nothing about this world,” Olivia sighed wistfully.
"How did you recognize her as a vampire?" Olivia was very curious. On the surface, there was nothing special about Anna or the werewolf Luke. How could Su recognize their identities at a glance?
"secret."
Su chuckled, then reminded her, "Vampires are more dangerous than werewolves. There are very few vegetarian vampires; to them, humans are just food. Someone like Anna will weaken if she doesn't drink blood and gradually turn into a dried-up corpse. Common methods for dealing with vampires include eating garlic, using crosses (which are useless), and drinking holy water. As long as they eat healthily and have blood in their bodies, they are almost the same as normal people."
"Especially when drinking coffee, the caffeine in coffee can accelerate blood circulation, so when others touch her, they won't feel that her body is cold."
"Fire and wooden stakes piercing the heart can kill them. There is also a plant called verbena, which makes vampires very weak after drinking it. At the same time, humans can resist vampire hypnosis by wearing or drinking verbena."
"Vampire hypnosis is very troublesome. If you ever encounter a vampire, please keep this in mind!"
Chapter 28 Anna's Appointment
While reminding Olivia, Sue also reflected on his own actions.
Vampires can use hypnosis to erase people's memories, and powerful vampires can even distort people's minds.
If hypnosis is likened to an illusion, can you break free from it?
Illusion techniques target the enemy's five senses, causing them to fall into illusions. Skilled illusion users can even manipulate the flow of chakra in the enemy's brain at will, thereby achieving the purpose of disruption and control.
The Magical Technique of Nairo's Sight belongs to this category.
The hypnosis of vampires should be released through the spiritual power in their bloodline, via their eyes and voice.
The Byakugan should be able to break through a vampire's hypnosis, since it belongs to the bloodline limit, and its bloodline and structure are different from ordinary eyes.
Moreover, the hypnosis of vampires is not so absolute. It is less effective or even ineffective against other supernatural beings. Even ordinary humans, as long as they are mentally strong and have strong willpower, may be able to resist it.
Since you know illusion magic, you should have some resistance to illusion magic.
Chakra is strong.
Highly skilled in illusion magic.
The perfect Jinchūriki.
These can all resist illusions, but I'm still far from that level. At most, I'm confident I can deal with a vampire's hypnosis.
Back at the hotel, Ms. Su received a call from Luke.
William Berg Restaurant is owned by the Xiong Guo gang and has no intention of selling it. As for the restaurant's building, the landlord has signed a long-term lease with six years remaining on the contract.
It's neither good news nor bad news.
Eight months before the 2 Broke Girls storyline began, the goofy boss took over the restaurant from the Xiong Guo gang. In other words, if the Su family wants to officially check out 2 Broke Girls, they may have to wait up to five years. There's no need to get the restaurant now.
There's plenty of time, so there's no rush to buy the restaurant now. But who can guarantee that the Xiong Guo gang will definitely sell the restaurant to the idiot before the lease expires?
This is a fusion of worlds from American TV series, not the world of 2 Broke Girls. With so many American TV series' worldviews and plots merging together, what if a butterfly effect occurs? A small, unintentional change could have far-reaching consequences, completely altering the course of certain plot points.
Even without the butterfly effect, even knowing that the 2 Broke Girls storyline won't begin for another five years, who knows where they'll be or what they'll be doing in five years? What if they forget about it altogether?
It's best to secure the profits!
If you want to buy it, there's no need to wait until next time.
Sue got the restaurant owner's contact information from Luke and planned to meet with him to talk sometime.
As evening approached, Su's phone rang again.
It wasn't an unfamiliar number, nor was it Luke or Olivia from next door; it was Anna, the 'fellow countrywoman' I met during the day.
After the call connected, Anna identified herself, said she was off work, and asked if he wanted to meet and talk.
Ms. Su readily agreed.
Anna then sent the meeting place via text message.
"She actually asked me to meet her at her house? She has ill intentions towards me!" Looking at the text message on her phone, Su decided not to bring Olivia this time.
He could deal with vampires, but Olivia couldn't, at least not yet. If Anna really had ill intentions, Olivia would definitely suffer if they fought, and he would be hesitant to act rashly.
After leaving the hotel, Ms. Su took a taxi to the appointment.
Bored on the way, Su recalled Anna's performance in the play and guessed why Anna had asked to meet her at home.
Anna is not a vegetarian among vampires. Despite her youthful appearance, she is actually a vampire over a hundred years old. In 1864, she and her mother Pearl visited the vampire Catherine. At that time, the two male protagonists, Damon and Stefan, had not yet been transformed into vampires.
She and her mother Pearl settled in Mysterious Falls. Pearl and Catherine were good friends, and Pearl had tried to persuade Catherine to leave several times, but Catherine wouldn't listen.
In the end, Catherine messed up!
Catherine, Pearl, and the other vampires in town were sealed in the cemetery beneath the old church, which was then burned down.
Anna managed to escape and leave Mysterious Falls.
Years later, at the start of The Vampire Diaries, Anna transforms a town graduate into her helper and returns to Mystic Falls. She gets close to Elena's brother, Jeremy, in an attempt to obtain Jeremy's family diary, find a way to break the seal on the cemetery, and rescue her mother.
After many twists and turns, Anna succeeded.
She rescued her mother, but in the process, she also fell in love with Jeremy.
How does that lyric go?
Falling in love isn't that easy!
Just as Anna and her mother Pearl decided to give up on retaking Mystic Falls and prepare to stay and live a peaceful life, Jeremy's uncle killed them.
Judging solely from Anna's actions in the story, she is not a cruel and bloodthirsty vampire. Bloodsucking is merely an instinct. She is also relatively friendly towards humans, having done both good and bad deeds. As long as she can save her mother, she is willing to pay any price and do anything.
Although she is not young in actual age, she looks and is mentally very young. Although she knows how to use tricks, her tricks are... hard to describe.
In order to save her mother, she took the initiative to approach Jeremy.
What was Jamie like back then?
His personality changed drastically after his parents' death. He became a drug addict, sold drugs, and was a sycophant. You could say he was utterly useless and had no redeeming qualities.
The results of it?
Anna actually fell in love with him.
This alone shows that Anna is definitely not a cunning, treacherous, or scheming person.

Chapter 29 Vanished Without a Trace? Who is Camille?
Anna's purpose in meeting him at home could be twofold: firstly, she might want to learn about the recent situation in Mystic Falls through him, a fellow villager, so that she could use this encounter to cover her identity when she returns; secondly, she might want to transform him into a vampire and become his accomplice.
Breaking the seal on the old cemetery won't be easy. Anna's goal is the witch Bonnie's family's magic book, which contains the method to break the seal. Jeremy's family diary contains clues to the magic book, so Anna gets close to Jeremy and sends the transformed local boy to get close to Bonnie, all in order to find the magic book.
Only familiar faces who have lived in the town can approach Bonnie in the shortest time and successfully find clues about the magic book.
Sue was the right age, and she also came from Mysterious Falls Town.
Half an hour later, Ms. Su got out of the taxi and walked into a dilapidated old apartment building.
