Chapter 26: Vengeful Demon Riot, Karna vs. the Whitebeard Pirates
Chapter 26: Vengeful Demon Riot, Karna vs. the Whitebeard Pirates
The sea was turbulent, and thunder rumbled as torrential rain poured down.
Lightning flashed, and several figures of varying heights appeared in the lightning, surrounding Ace and Karna.
Ace saw his usual brothers standing in front of the Earl, poised to attack them.
He frowned. "So, they've all been controlled by that ominous heroic spirit?"
Karna's eyes flickered slightly as he looked around.
Marco, Joz, Sachs, Vista, and even the captain.
Looking up at the deck, they saw countless crew members staring at them with uniformly angry eyes, seemingly fixing the two of them in the cabin. It seemed that the entire pirate crew had been caught in the crossfire.
His sharp gaze pierced through the crowd and landed directly on the Earl.
"Yes, in their eyes, we are probably the enemy now."
As soon as Karna finished speaking, Ace gritted his teeth, a look of panic on his face.
"What...what do we do!? Will they be controlled forever?! How can we break free from his control?"
Karna's face was serious, and raindrops fell from the top of the blasted-open cabin, wetting his cold and stern face.
The rainwater evaporated instantly upon approaching the Sun Wheel Armor, and countless wisps of steam swirled around it, forming a ferocious beast that could devour anyone at any moment.
He gripped the Undying Blade tightly, his lips barely moving.
"The best approach is to address the root cause of their problems..."
As he spoke, Karna turned back and gave Ace a warm smile.
Ace was slightly taken aback. To be honest, Karna was usually the type who rarely smiled, and he was currently exuding a dangerous aura.
However, Ace did not feel out of place. It was like a powerful yet gentle and reliable god, and these qualities could coexist.
Karna bent his knees slightly and changed his gun-holding posture slightly, bringing his palms closer to the blade.
"Rest assured, Master. I stake the name of my father, the Sun God Surya, on the return of your family."
As soon as he finished speaking, his golden pupils flashed with unprecedented divine majesty, and the cabin fell silent.
A large amount of wood chips appeared where Karna had been, and the wood chips floated slowly upwards as if defying gravity.
The rain seemed to freeze in the air; the pattering sound and the annoying dampness disappeared, and lightning had just appeared in the sky, not even having a chance to spread.
A look of astonishment flashed across the count's face as he was about to flee with Blackbeard, shielded by a group of crew members.
His body was unable to move, but his thoughts continued, and his eyes could barely move.
Karna is gone? The conspicuous golden-armored Heroic Spirit who had always stood right next to Ace has disappeared?
"How...why..."
Lightning began to spread across the sky, accompanied by a chilling glint in the eyes of the count.
Before the lightning could spread, a figure flashed in front of the count, his spear gleaming with boundless light.
He didn't use any Noble Phantasms, just speed, extreme speed.
"boom!--"
"Buzz—"
Only then did the sound of thunder reach them, echoed by a gunshot that had already been fired earlier.
The torrential rain from the sky fell on earth again, and the raindrops evaporated instantly when they hit the gun. Emerging from the steam was an intense killing intent that arrived in an instant.
At that moment, Diamond Jozu was still roaring at Ace's location, his voice not even having a chance to escape.
Marco stood motionless with his arms crossed, while Vista's sword remained stuck at his waist, only half-drawn.
This shot looks like it's going to hit!
But the Count's mind raced, and he immediately activated his teleportation skill, "Wisdom of Escape."
"I was careless; this guy can unleash such incredible speed..."
The moment the count disappeared, a powerful tremor tore space to shreds.
Cracks, like glass fissures, appeared in the air, slowly widening until they finally struck Karna with a tangible blow.
"Thump!"
The air glass shattered, and Karna was stunned. The intense crushing sensation caused him to vomit blood for the first time in this world.
However, this damage was quickly and completely repaired by the Sun Wheel Armor.
Ace snapped out of his daze and immediately ran to his side.
"Hey! Little Sun, are you alright? What just happened?"
A bold voice, but one that was more angry than usual, came from the upper deck.
"Kuralala... kid. Are you the two who destroyed my ship and tried to attack my family?"
Ace shuddered; the voice made his very soul tremble.
"Father...Father! He's been controlled too!"
Unwilling to admit it, he shouted loudly upwards, "Dad! It's us! Ace and Karna! Your family!"
The white-bearded man's lips twitched, then a ferocious expression appeared on his face, but he eventually reverted to a slightly angry look.
"Stop talking nonsense, you brat... Prepare to die! Men! Charge!"
The captain, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly launched an attack.
Diamond Joz roared, his entire body instantly covered in the most dazzling and hardest diamonds.
"Shining Collision!"
He came crashing down from the side with the force to shatter mountains!
The diamond giant had already rushed close, its dazzling light blinding.
"Hey, watch out, Sun! Jozu's attacks are really strong!"
Karna simply turned slightly to the side, his free left hand with its five fingers spread, and casually placed it on Joz's charging diamond shoulder.
A power far beyond Joz's imagination emanated from that palm!
The diamond, touted as the world's hardest material, emitted a teeth-grinding crunching sound.
Joz's unstoppable momentum came to an abrupt halt, his massive body being forcefully pressed to the spot.
The deck beneath his feet collapsed with a deafening roar, cracks spreading outwards!
Joz's face was filled with disbelief and horror. His proud defense and strength were as fragile as paper under the seemingly restrained pressure of his opponent!
Seeing that Jozu's attacks were ineffective, Vista drew his twin swords, and flower petals danced wildly!
"Rose Rondo!"
Countless pink sword energies, like a storm, blocked all of Karna's escape routes!
However, Karna did not dodge at all.
Om-!
The pink sword energy storm, powerful enough to cut through gold and jade, struck him but made a dense "hissing" sound like snowflakes, dissipating in an instant without even a ripple.
Vista's prized slash was as harmless as a flower petal to Karna.
This left Ace speechless. Only now did he realize just how much Karna had held back during their sparring sessions.
Now it seems like he doesn't even need three moves. I reckon that besides his father and Marco, no one can withstand even one of his attacks…
As soon as he was told, Marco transformed into a blue phoenix and flew in like a meteor, his target Ace!
Ace, however, didn't want to attack: "Feed Marco! Wake up! It's me!"
Karna sighed helplessly at Ace's actions. He moved swiftly, instantly blocking Ace's path.
The phoenix, burning with blue flames, crashed straight into Karna.
The impact, powerful enough to shatter a warship, came to an instant halt, as if it had struck the red earth continent!
In that instant, Karna did not linger for a moment, fixing his gaze on the Count.
The count, standing beside the black-bearded man, hoisted him onto his shoulder.
"The scene where they turn against each other is hilarious. Unfortunately, that's all for today. We'll see each other again sometime, hahaha!"
The black mist gradually enveloped their figures, and Karna transformed into a golden afterimage as he pursued them.
However, he was still a step too late; the shadowy figure and the unsettling aura of darkness had already completely vanished from his perception range.
The anger in the eyes of Marco, Joz, Vista, and others subsided, replaced by extreme exhaustion and shock.
"Ace? Karna?"
"Dad?!"
"What are we doing?"
