Chapter 27 Arguing with the Church
Chapter 27 Arguing with the Church
When I woke up the next day, my biological clock was still at 6 a.m. I gently hugged Percy in my arms, then got up quietly, carefully changed my clothes, and slowly went downstairs to the kitchen.
I just didn't notice. Actually, Percy had already woken up. He left that warm embrace, but he just lingered in that warm bed and fell asleep again.
Bright lights shone in the kitchen, where Mrs. Molly Weasley was already busy preparing breakfast for the family so early in the morning.
"Good morning, Mrs. Weasley. Is there anything I can help you with?" He rolled up his sleeves and walked over to Mrs. Weasley, ready to help her prepare breakfast.
"Oh, baby, you're up so early. Why didn't you sleep in a little longer? I wish my child woke up this early too." Mrs. Weasley was surprised that I was up so early.
"My elders at home don't know how to cook, so I get up this early to prepare breakfast for them." After all, the Sculptor really doesn't know how to cook. Before I transmigrated here, I suspected he was sustained by drinking magic potions and only occasionally went out to eat.
"Oh, boys who can cook are really rare these days. You're amazing! I can handle things here. After all, you're a guest, I can manage." This is the wizarding world, after all. Mrs. Weasley can do the work of several people by simply waving her wand.
"Then I'll go outside and exercise a bit; it's still early." Mrs. Weasley stopped me from helping her.
"Go on, son. Just come back for breakfast after you're done exercising. Oh, be careful and don't go too far." It's so nice to have a mother like Mrs. Weasley. I'm a little envious now.
I had planned to exercise by running, so I was wearing tight-fitting sportswear.
I simply ran a few laps around the humble dwelling until I was out of breath, and then slowly walked.
Actually, I used to run like this when I was in school, but I stopped running for the time being after returning to my home in Stokes' house for the holidays. This is because there are homeless people wandering around my home, and I only go out for a short while to buy groceries. I always run away, which is not very friendly for a 12-year-old wizard who can't use magic yet.
After I calmed down, I went back to Percy's room, intending to take a shower before having breakfast.
When I opened the door and went inside, Percy was already up and getting ready.
"Good morning, Percy." Although Percy was the first to enter the honeymoon phase, I didn't make a move, having learned from Severus's experience.
(Actually, Mr. Kim, I really want to ask, is this affection level mutual, or is it just my one-sided love for them? Why do they seem so indifferent to each other?)
[Jin: Host son, this is of course the emotional value between the two parties. It's just that the personalities of the targets are all different. Some may show it, some may avoid it, and some may hide their feelings. Host son, you just need to know that the system is accurate.]
(It seems Severus is just arrogant, but what about Percy? He's more of a collector; I don't see him having any particularly outstanding performances.)
I came out after a relaxing shower, my hair still dripping wet, I hadn't even had time to dry it.
"Let me dry your hair for you. I need to wake everyone up for breakfast." Percy had me sit on the edge of the bed and stood behind me with a towel.
The hands that were drying my hair felt warm. He bent down slightly and gently dried my hair with a towel.
His movements were very gentle, as if he were protecting a precious treasure.
He first placed the towel on his hair and gently pressed it with his hands to allow the towel to fully absorb the moisture from his hair.
Then, starting from the ends of his hair, he slowly wiped it upwards, being very careful with each wipe to make sure the hair was completely dry.
His fingers moved through his hair, combing it occasionally to make it smoother.
His gaze was focused and gentle, as if he were enjoying the process.
After drying his hair, he gently combed it with his hands to make it neater.
Then, he placed the towel aside and gently stroked his hair with his hands, feeling its softness and smoothness.
Now I truly feel it; it's not unrequited love. Percy's current behavior is making my heart race—it's so sweet!
"Percy." I unconsciously wanted to call out the name of the person next to me.
"Hmm?" Percy's response made me want to hug him, but I couldn't; that would scare him away, and it wasn't the right time yet.
"Let's go downstairs for breakfast." If I can't hug him, I can hold his hand, so I casually took his hand.
"You go downstairs first, I'll wake up your younger siblings." Percy didn't shake off my hand, but pretended to push me out of the room.
I didn't notice that his ears were already bright red as I walked ahead. Percy took a deep breath after I went downstairs, went upstairs to wake his brother, and then went to his younger brother and sister's room to wake them up for breakfast.
"Children, after you finish breakfast, tidy up a bit, and we'll go to Diagon Alley together to buy textbooks. Your respective grade's book lists have already been mailed over." As we sat down to eat breakfast, Mrs. Weasley handed us our respective letters.
After breakfast, we got ready and used the fireplace to teleport to Diagon Alley.
“Ayers Hall.” I didn’t expect to run into Severus, who was passing by, as soon as I stepped out of the fireplace. He was so excited that he grabbed my hand.
"Good afternoon, Professor Snape." Fred hadn't expected to see Professor Snape grabbing Ayers as soon as he stepped out of the fireplace.
"What's the matter that Professor Snape grabbed Ayers for?" George asked, also looking at us with surprise as we were being pulled apart.
"I need to speak with Ayers privately, is that convenient for you?" Severus's first sentence was addressed to the twins, while the second was a question to me.
“Okay, let’s talk over there. Fred, George, could you please go and buy me some things first? I’ll come find you at Flourish and Blotts.” Severus grabbed my hand tightly, as if afraid I would disappear at any moment. I didn’t shake his hand off and left as he wished.
After hearing what the twins said, Mrs. Weasley and the rest of her family who had been teleported over split up to buy the necessary supplies.
"Why did you leave so suddenly?" Severus asked directly once they found a corner where they could talk alone.
“Didn’t you just not want to face me? You’ve been avoiding me all vacation. I’m doing what you wanted.” Her emerald eyes looked calmly at Severus. Actually, I was also feeling bad. He was running away. I would rather he talked to me honestly.
"No, that's not it." Severus was that kind of person; he would shrink away at the slightest thing. He was really sensitive.
"Severus, what am I to you? An orphaned little wizard entrusted to your care by the headmaster? Or a burden?" I myself wonder what I am to Severus.
“I…” Severus didn’t know how to say it. He had discovered that he had different feelings for Ayers, but he couldn’t say that he should love Lily deeply.
"Hmm~ You don't need to say anything, Severus. I'll give you time to think it through. You can tell me whenever you want, and I won't bother you during this time." I've finished studying the courses from grades 1 to 7, and I shouldn't be bothering Severus for a while. Give him some time. What you can't have is always the best. I've also helped him get used to it for a while. He can't live without me.
I gave him a gentle hug. Love also requires giving each other personal space; otherwise, being too demanding will only backfire.
She let go of him after only a moment, turned around and strode away. Only then did she realize that she had almost reached his shoulder during the hug.
It seems I started developing rapidly at the age of 12, and maybe next year I'll be able to embrace Stalin.
