Chapter 228 Idle Chat in the Hall and Auditorium
Chapter 228 Idle Chat in the Hall and Auditorium
"Theodore, is it good?" I nudged Theodore Nott gently with my elbow.
[Jin: Ding—Indirect kiss with the target Theodore Nott has been completed]
[Rewards: 100 Bond Points, 100 Experience Points, 10 Affection Points, 100 Galleons]
Hmm... with so many people I've been trying to woo, I think I've forgotten a lot of things... Oh well, I'll just leave it to fate.
"Senior Ayers, can I still eat that? I really like it." This was the first time Theodore Nott had spoken so many words to me, though his expression was rather indifferent.
"If you're okay with that, you can have the house-elves at Hogwarts cook for you. Most of them should be able to make some Eastern dishes by now, and they're quite diverse." I don't know if it was the cookbook I gave Mumu that made the house-elves at Hogwarts discover their talent, but now there are really a lot more different kinds of food appearing on the table.
I just didn't expect Theodore Nott to like spicy food. He seems so cold and aloof. I never would have guessed.
"Senior Ayers, what are your plans for today?" Blaise Zabini asked curiously.
"Um~ junior, I haven't decided on my schedule yet. If nothing happens, I should go to class, then go back to my dorm, or maybe go to the headmaster's office." It seems my schedule at Hogwarts is really monotonous right now, it's just classes, meals, or sleeping, it's really quite boring.
It seems like nothing can pique my interest these days.
"Good morning, Ayers." Just then, Fred and George, who had just entered the hall, spotted me sitting next to Draco and greeted me directly.
"Looks like I need to excuse myself for a moment." I casually tidied up the table and stood up.
As I was about to leave, I felt as if my sleeve was being tugged. I looked curiously at the hand that was pulling my sleeve.
"What's wrong, Draco?" I looked at the owner of the hand that was holding mine. It was Draco sitting next to me. Seeing that it was the young master Draco, I sat down again and asked gently in a low voice.
"Could you not come over today and have breakfast with us here instead?" Draco asked in a low voice.
"Do you want to do this? Sure." It's just sitting here to eat breakfast, I'm fine with it.
It didn't matter at all for the twins. Fred had seen me preparing to leave the Slytherin table, but when he saw me sit back down, he pulled George to sit on the Slytherin table as well, not caring at all that his Gryffindor red robes stood out against the Slytherin green.
"Good morning, my little snakes. I know you don't mind if we sit here and have breakfast too, right? We also have something to say to Ayers." Fred was really casual. He genuinely didn't mind the relationship between Slytherin and Gryffindor at all. His lover was from Slytherin, so what was there to mind?
"Good morning~ If Fred can sit here, then I certainly can too, right?" George was just like Fred, sitting here chatting and eating breakfast together.
"Ayers, didn't you say you weren't interested in the Triwizard Tournament? How come you got selected?" Fred said, ordering himself a bowl of beef noodles as he ate.
"Could you finish eating first?" I handed Fred my handkerchief so he could wipe his mouth.
"I still prefer this one a little more." George ordered a plate of steamed dumplings and ate them with the sauce.
The Slytherin students sitting next to me learned something this time. So that's how the seniors' breakfasts came about. Through the twins' subtle guidance, they discovered the hidden way of ordering food at Hogwarts.
"Alright, I've finished eating. Now you can answer my question, right?" Fred took the handkerchief I handed him, wiped his mouth, and asked me.
"I wasn't planning on participating anyway, but some kind classmate probably signed me up," I said, half-jokingly, though I already knew who had signed me up.
"That person is quite nice, now we can finally see your beauty." George, who was slowly eating his dumplings, finished his and took the handkerchief that Fred had just used to wipe his mouth, wiping his own mouth with the other side.
“Then according to what you said, Ayers, Harry’s situation must be the same, right?” Cedric suddenly appeared here as well, and sat down with us when he saw us.
"That should be the case. Don't you guys feel it's a pity that you can't participate in this competition?" I knew that the three of them had signed up, but I didn't expect that I would be the one selected.
"George and I were just trying it out; neither of us expected to be selected." Fred didn't seem to care much; he and George were just going to join in the fun.
“I was already prepared to participate in this competition, wanting to contribute to Hogwarts School. Now that you, Ayers, have been selected, I’m relieved. I’ll be cheering you on from the stands,” Cedric said with a smile.
"I still have a headache. I feel like this competition is limiting my performance, but..." I really want to slack off, but why can't I? But thinking about it, it's actually quite good that Cedric didn't participate in this competition, and now there's only Riddle without Old Voldemort.
I, this butterfly, have changed so much that I suddenly miss Riddle.
“By the way, Ayers, we overheard Harry and Ronnie talking last night. Your first project involves stealing dragon eggs, right? Are you sure it’s okay?” Fred looked at me with some concern.
"Stealing dragon eggs? Is the opponent a real dragon?" Cedric was from Hufflepuff, and he was still unaware of the first event of the Triwizard Tournament.
"It's alright, I can handle it, you don't need to worry about me." I felt I was quite familiar with the dragon, so I didn't really take it to heart. My main concern was not to make them worry.
"Then you need to be careful. Your safety is the most important thing." As far as my safety is concerned, Cedric doesn't care about anything else.
"By the way, Fred and George, I have something for you." I was changing the subject; I really didn't want to talk about the Triwizard Tournament anymore.
I took two shop contracts out of my portable bag, one for Fred and one for George.
"Ayers, what is this?" Fred looked at me curiously.
“This looks like a contract.” George was also curious about the thing in his hand.
"You'll see when you open it." I looked at the two of them with a smile.
Cedric and Draco didn't say anything; they just sat there listening and watching.
"Fred Weasley, owner of the Joke Shop." Fred, who had been looking at the contract casually, widened his eyes as he looked at it.
"George Weasley, owner of the defensive equipment workshop." At the same time, George also saw the entire contents of the contract at a glance.
"Work hard. This is what I arranged for you. All the formalities have been completed." I smiled as I looked at the two stunned people.
“Ayers, I’m a little envious of them.” Cedric said, seeing me give the twins gifts again.
“You will have it too, it’s just that I’m not ready yet.” How could I not prepare it for Cedric?
Personally, I feel that these two workshops are somewhat useless under my command. It would be better to give them to the twins as a gift, since they were given to me by the system after completing a task for them.
"Ayers~" Fred's eyes were already brimming with tears of emotion.
"I was touched~" George was more direct.
This time, the Slytherin students witnessed how much I doted on the Gryffindor twins.
Not to mention Cedric, they were quite envious of the twins, even though they were heirs or one of the heirs in a pure-blood family.
However, they have no actual shops or rights in their hands. As long as they don't inherit the family's position, they have nothing.
Unlike the Geminis, Ayers isn't part of the Weasley family; this shop is really just a random gift.
This kind of pampering is something even their own elders wouldn't give, let alone to someone they're not related to by blood.
Of course, they didn't know that although we weren't related by blood, we were husband and wife in a marital relationship.
Just then, Harry, Fred, and George appeared in the Great Hall, and Fred and George immediately ran over to Ron to show off.
"Senior Ayers, why are you so nice to those Gryffindor twins?" Blaise Zabini asked, voicing the thoughts of the group of little snakes.
"It's a secret." Now is not the time to reveal our relationship. I don't want them to be looked at strangely by others.
"Ronnie, look what Ayers gave us!" Fred, leaning on his younger brother, waved the contract in his hand.
"What good stuff did Ayers give you this time?" Ron was used to his older brother often receiving gifts from Senior Ayers. Even if Senior Ayers didn't give any gifts, he would often pull out something delicious from his all-purpose pocket for his brothers.
“I have one too!” George boasted on Ron’s other side.
"What is it that makes you so happy?" Even Harry was intrigued by Fred and George and wanted to know what it was.
"Let me see." Hermione picked up the scrolls in one hand and began to examine them.
To prevent tearing, Fred and George let go so Hermione could see it clearly.
"Wow~ Senior Ayers gave Fred and George each a workshop, that's really generous." Hermione exclaimed after reading the scroll, while Ron and Harry were stunned.
"Does Mom know about this?" Ron didn't know what to say. Senior Ayers was really too good to his older brother.
"I don't think she knows yet. We'll surprise her later," Fred and George said in unison, both delighted.
"Alright, you two, hurry up and pack your things. We're about to leave for class." Today it's me and the twins in the same classroom again, and it's Defense Against the Dark Arts class. I feel like this is going to be interesting.
I don't know if the person impersonating me is the same one I know.
Upon hearing what I said, Fred and George happily put away their scrolls and then clung to my shoulders, one on each side.
Given my current height, I felt like I was dragging them along, so I simply carried one in each arm. Every little wizard who passed by gave us a stare.
"Then I'll be going too. You should hurry, you might be late." Cedric watched us leave, finished his breakfast at the Slytherin table, and then stood up to head to his classroom.
"Oh, looks like we need to grab a quick bite of breakfast." The trio of Harry and his friends arrived a bit late today. They had been so distracted by Fred and the others that they had lost track of time. Now, only a handful of them were still eating breakfast.
"It seems we should leave too." Draco and the others no longer wanted to deal with Harry's trio. They had actually finished breakfast long ago; they had only chatted with Ayers for a while. Now that the main characters were gone, they should leave as well.
"Harry Potts, today is Professor Snape's class. I advise you to just swallow it directly." Godric Draco couldn't resist mocking the trio.
Ron was about to argue with Draco, but he almost choked on his own. Luckily, Hermione handed him a glass of milk and he swallowed it down; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Draco saw this and left with the others, laughing.
Harry, Severus, and Harry quickly finished their breakfast and rushed to the Potions classroom. Unfortunately, they didn't get into the classroom until Severus had already entered.
Fortunately, Severus wasn't in a too bad mood today, but the trio was still singled out by Severus, and as usual, each Gryffindor student lost a point.
"I hope next time Mr. Harry Potter, Mr. Ron Weasley, and Miss Hermione Granger will arrive at the Potions classroom earlier." Severus, who had already deducted points from Gryffindor, didn't forget to spew some venom.
"We understand, Professor Snape." The trio who had points deducted could only reply with a wronged tone, unable to talk back, otherwise they would lose even more points.
Draco's Slytherin clique secretly chuckled; they thoroughly enjoyed watching their Headmaster deduct points from Gryffindor.
In Potions class, Gryffindor students could only silently endure everything. They were used to it and could only listen carefully to ensure they didn't make mistakes, get scolded, or lose points.
Then Potions class was filled with Severus's usual swearing and explosions; today was another Gryffindor deduction day.
If I were there, Gryffindor might lose fewer points. Generally, I would secretly help the Geminis with their classwork to prevent them from getting too many points deducted by Severus. My actions also helped the Gryffindors who were in the same class as me.
The Gryffindors in my year had the fewest points deducted by Severus in Potions class, while the Gryffindors in Harry's year had the most points deducted.
