Chapter 39 Dudley's Schemes and Difficult Tasks!
Chapter 39 Dudley's Schemes and Difficult Tasks!
"I knew it would be like this. The media and public opinion have been manipulated, under the pressure of foolish politicians, and with your tacit approval, Dumbledore."
Dudley handed the newspaper to Harry and then commented without any politeness.
“Dudley, I didn’t ask Fudge to do such a thing. I warned him. It was him…” Dumbledore quickly defended himself, feeling that he really couldn’t be blamed for this.
"Dumbledore, I think you really should reflect on yourself. Sometimes you are really too naive and weak."
Yesterday in Diagon Alley, when Harry and I were buying wands, Minister Fudge yelled at you and Hagrid on the street, didn't he? He might even have bared his teeth and threatened you, right?
He's bullying you, and you still allow him to run around like that? Isn't that condoning his behavior?
How long are you going to keep compromising? I really don't understand, why aren't you dealing with this kind of person? Are you going to keep him around for Christmas?
Upon hearing Dudley's words, Dumbledore was startled and hurriedly said, "Dudley, I don't think Fudge is dead yet?"
"What are you thinking?" Dudley's eyes widened. "Don't think of me as so bad! Dumbledore, I just want you to remove him from office!"
This power-blinded fool shouldn't remain Minister for Magic; otherwise, he'll be a scourge to all wizards in Britain!
"So that's how it is."
Dumbledore breathed a sigh of relief; it was much more acceptable to remove Fudge from office than to kill him.
"But how do I get Fudge out of office? Am I supposed to use magic and reputation to force him to step down...? That would face a lot of resistance!"
Having agreed to Dudley's idea, Dumbledore was then troubled about how to implement it.
"No need. Forcing it is too much trouble and too low-level. If you do that, you'll just be Voldemort in sheep's clothing!"
Dudley began to plot for Dumbledore, "You've been openly and officially fighting Voldemort for almost twenty years. You should have people in the Ministry of Magic, right?"
“There are a few, Dudley. What do you want to do with them?” Dumbledore asked.
"Have your people find evidence of Minister Fouché's illegal and criminal activities. A person who is so obsessed with power that he denies reality must have tasted the wonderful flavor that power brings."
Is it possible for someone like this to claim they've never accepted bribes or abused their power?
Dudley was calm and composed, with an air of strategic planning. "Have your men get to work quickly, or, Dumbledore, you go yourself and read Minister Fudge's memories, and quickly find all the evidence against him."
Then, have your people submit evidence to Wizengamot to formally impeach Fudge.
Next, all you need to do, as the chief wizard of Wizengamo, is to impartially try Minister Fudge's corruption case, openly and legitimately remove him from office, and then recommend an excellent wizard who listens to you to take charge of the Ministry of Magic.
To be honest, in the British magical world, you control two of the three major institutions of power: administration, judiciary, and education. Your reputation is unparalleled. I can't think of anything that could possibly stump you.
"Dali, you... thank goodness you chose to stand on the side of justice, otherwise I can't imagine what you would have done when you grew up!"
Dumbledore was stunned by Dudley's proposal.
“Dumbledore, you’re wrong. I’m not on the side of justice, I’m on the side of my family. However, if I want my family to live safely and well, I need a magical world that adheres to a relatively just order.”
Furthermore, no matter which side I'm on, the things I'm capable of doing in the future are beyond your imagination!
Dali was very confident and spoke with great certainty.
“I have no doubt about that!” Dumbledore didn’t think Dudley was exaggerating at all. “Then I’ll get to it now. Voldemort is active again, and I need to get the wizarding world on alert as soon as possible.”
Oh, by the way, this is the train ticket you and Harry will need to get to Hogwarts when school starts. It's the Hogwarts Express, Platform 9¾ at King's Cross station in London!
Dumbledore stood up, took out two train tickets and placed them on Dudley's desk in his bedroom, then prepared to say goodbye and leave.
Unexpectedly, Dali called out to him.
"Why are you in such a hurry? Dumbledore, you're over a hundred years old, why are you rushing around like a young boy! Have you forgotten what I just said? I still have a lot for you to do this month!"
"Huh? This month? I thought the other things would be done after school started! After all, changing the Minister of Magic is such a big deal, a month is already quite tight!"
After reflecting on his actions, Dumbledore regained the drive he had as a young Gryffindor lion. However, the sudden change had left him unaccustomed to it, and he lost some of his mature composure.
"Just sit still for now. Time is like water in a sponge; if you don't have enough, just squeeze some out!"
The matter of changing ministers will only require your presence during spiritual intervention and court hearings; other miscellaneous tasks will be handled by others.
With Fudge's downfall, he and his cronies will free up a large number of positions, which is a huge benefit for the wizards working for you; you won't have to worry about them not being dedicated.
Dudley's analysis is crystal clear; soon, he will also make arrangements for Dumbledore crystal clear.
“Dumbledore, besides dealing with Fudge, this month you need to go to Azkaban and use Veritaserum or Legilimency to get the last clues about my Aunt Lily and Uncle James’ murder from Sirius.”
If Sirius surrendered to Voldemort and leaked the secret, then cripple him and bring him before me and Harry.
If Sirius, in his folly, mistakenly trusted Pettigrew and relinquished his position as the confidant, then you can extract all of Pettigrew's subtle characteristics from him, especially his abilities to disguise and hide.
Then……"
"If Sirius Black did not intentionally kill my parents, Professor Dumbledore, please free him from Azkaban. He has been imprisoned for nearly ten years, and the punishment he has received, coupled with his inner remorse, is enough to atone for his sins."
After Dudley deliberately paused, Harry naturally followed up on his cousin's words, adding that this was, after all, a feud between his parents, and he needed to give a clear opinion on how to deal with the enemy.
“Harry’s meaning is my meaning,” Dudley continued. “Also, if we’re going to release Sirius, Dumbledore, don’t tell him that Pettigrew has most likely faked his death and escaped, lest he do something foolish and alert the enemy.”
It would be best to release it a month after Harry and I start school, so we can find a place for him to calm down first.
The Dementors of Azkaban are masters of torture; being imprisoned for so long would inevitably drive someone insane.
“I understand,” Dumbledore agreed, but his expression remained hesitant as he stammered, “Dudley, I still hope you won’t let Harry be exposed to blood so early…”
"Whether Harry gets involved with blood is not up to me, Dumbledore! If fate is going to play tricks on us, we can only face it head-on and be indomitable and courageous fighters!"
Dudley forcefully dispelled the pity and weakness that had just arisen in Dumbledore's heart, and even grinned as he added:
"We witnessed firsthand in the Gringotts underground vault that a strange man with a face on both sides turned into a golden statue and then into ashes. That scene was just as thrilling as any bloody event. Don't treat us like weak children!"
So put away your pity, Dumbledore! Let me give you your next task!
