Chapter 32: The Cub and the Magic
Chapter 32: The Cub and the Magic
Even though they knew it was just a game, most players still couldn't help but scatter to the left and right when the warhorses charged in front of them.
The Dothraki bandits, brandishing their Arak scimitars, charged into the crowd with a whooshing sound.
"Cut them down!" As the guild leader, Feng Yun Xiong Ba took the lead at the critical moment, wielding his cane to smash a Dothraki man off his horse from the side.
The Dothraki who fell off their horses were like fish food thrown into a fish tank. Several players, smelling the scent, quickly stepped forward, wielding their battle axes and longswords, and in an instant, they rolled the opponent into a bloody mess.
"Damn tin man!" the bandit leader cursed in Dothraki. With his amazing horsemanship, he turned his horse around, ready to avenge his fallen comrade.
"Kang Mazi! Attack him!" Just then, a beast tamer player in the guild commanded his spotted hunting dog to pounce on the bandit who had his back to him.
The hunting dog obediently did as instructed. It was not afraid of the shouts of battle around it. It whimpered and threw itself onto the horse's rump, leaving several bloody wounds.
When their warhorses are startled, even the most skilled Dothraki horsemen cannot avoid being thrown off by their own horses.
"Well done, you pockmarked guy!" The beast tamer with the game ID Seth Black rushed forward with a flail. The Dothraki barbarian tried to get up, but Seth Black hit him on the head with the flail, almost splattering his brains out.
Looking at the bandit lying motionless on the ground, Seth turned to Kang Mazi, who was panting heavily with his tongue lolling out, circling around him as if seeking praise. Seth grinned:
"We've done a great job this time, Pockmarked!"
"Kolo is dead! Let's go!"
The young bandit noticed this, brandished his scimitar to deflect the spears thrusting towards him, shouted a cry, and spurred his horse to ride away.
This group of Dothraki bandits came and went in a hurry, leaving behind six or seven corpses before disappearing from the players' sight.
"We've lost several lives!" Feng Yun Xiong Ba opened his mask, panting heavily like a bellows, and looked at the players around him.
"I've lost my life!"
"What a pity, it was too dark. Otherwise, even with half my face sliced off, I would have scared those bandits to death!"
"What a huge loss! I lost both of my free revival opportunities!"
[Game-wide announcement: Guild Heroes has completed the hidden game quest, becoming the first team to defeat the bandits. All members will receive one Black Iron Treasure Chest and twenty Kingdom Coins. Guild Leader Fengyun Xiongba will receive one Bronze Treasure Chest, five Black Iron Treasure Chests, and fifty Kingdom Coins.]
Viserys, munching on an apple after his meal, watched the players' battle unfold through the system panel.
Hearing the system's announcement to the entire game, His Majesty curled his lip, thinking to himself that these players really got off easy.
Since the system was activated, Viserys has hardly completed any tasks himself, instead subcontracting them to his players. So recently, Little Fireman has been bypassing Viserys and directly distributing rewards to players who have completed the tasks.
Of course, as the host who needs to control the players, Viserys doesn't need to do anything; he can simply take half of the rewards the players receive after completing the tasks.
Viserys casually tossed the fruit pit out the window and quietly watched the players cheering on the screen.
"Well done, brothers! In addition to the promised 500 per kill, I'll give each of you an extra 500!" Taking off his helmet and tucking it under his arm, Feng Yun Xiong Ba's usually icy face broke into a smile.
Upon hearing this, the players excitedly rushed over and hurriedly lifted Fengyun Xiongba up.
Nothing brings strangers closer together more than fighting side-by-side on the battlefield.
"We've struck gold! Three horses weren't even scared away!" The sister-in-law, beaming, led her warhorse to Fengyun Xiongba.
"In this battle, we not only captured six scimitars and three bows, but most importantly, we captured these three horses. Now I can finally live up to my title as a scout."
Feng Yun Xiong Ba was also very pleased to see this, and unusually, he joked with someone he didn't know well:
"That would require our scout leader to know how to ride a horse, otherwise his groin might get worn out."
"Hahahaha!" The players on the side looked at the sister-in-law and began to imagine her embarrassing appearance with her legs covered in blood.
"Holy crap, I got gold from the Black Iron Chest!" At that moment, a player's exclamation startled everyone.
All the players turned their attention to the scene, only to see a beast tamer player holding a cub that looked like a wolf and a dog.
"Little Fireman said this is some kind of dire wolf, and that it will be much stronger and bigger than ordinary wolves when it grows up. But I wonder if this thing can be raised here?" The player with the game ID Seth Black muttered as he held the dire wolf cub.
"Damn, you opened it, didn't you? I just pulled a leather jacket out of that crappy box, and it was secondhand, reeking of horse manure! That's not fair!"
"It's alright, at least I managed to get a short sword from the box, I can keep it as a secondary weapon."
"You're lucky." Feng Yun came up to Seth Black and first looked curiously at the puppy that looked like a husky in the other's arms. Then he patted the other's shoulder and expressed his admiration for the other's luck.
Just now, he opened all five black iron treasure chests, and all he found were boots, gloves, and scrap metal.
"Guild Leader, how about you open that bronze treasure chest and let the brothers see what it's like?" Little Li Guang, carrying a bow, looked at the guild leader and fiddled with the dagger he had just pulled out of the chest.
"Yeah, guild leader, open it and let the brothers see!"
Upon seeing this, the players began to argue.
Seeing this, Fengyun entered the player shop in front of everyone, took the bronze treasure chest from Little Fireman, and then opened it.
"What is this?" Feng Yun looked at the object in his hand in surprise. It was a transparent bead about the size of a billiard ball, with a bright red body.
"Wow, congratulations to this player, you've got a golden legendary item!" The little fireman across the counter pulled out a megaphone from somewhere and started blowing it.
"A golden legend?" Startled, Fengyun looked at the little fireman in confusion.
"Those who swallow this bead have an 80% chance of increasing their magical affinity. When magic truly returns, the world will know its power!"
Seeing the little fireman's incredible explanation, Fengyun held the bead in his hand and weighed it in his hand, thinking to himself: But I'm not an alchemist, am I? I can't use this thing.
After exiting the player shop, Fengyun showed everyone the bead he claimed could increase a warlock's magical affinity.
"This thing is not very useful to us. It's a useless thing. Most of the people who choose the warlock class go to the grenadier brigade of the non-stick pan giant. There are no warlocks in our guild at all."
The sister-in-law scratched the back of her head, wondering what use the bead was to them.
"Looks like I'll have to wait until I get back and trade it for some resources with those fire-playing guys."
Fengyun put away the bead. He thought he would get a magnificent suit of armor or a warhorse, but it turned out to be a useless item.
"Damn it, I'm exhausted!" Bu Chi Cilantro gazed into the distance toward the camp, carrying a flag and spear taller than himself, standing guard at the camp entrance, panting heavily.
This is the item he opened from the treasure chest: a flag spear with a blank flag face.
