Chapter 566: Descendant of the Myriad Swords Sect
Chapter 566: Descendant of the Myriad Swords Sect
"Hmm?"
The incident happened so suddenly and without any warning that everyone was stunned. Instinctively, they all turned to look.
They saw a blood-stained figure fall to the ground. The crimson blood and its pungent, coppery smell proved he was heavily injured.
How could space distort like this? Who is this injured person?
Li Mingliang and his two companions were shocked. They didn’t dare to act rashly, their gazes falling unanimously upon Su Han. But Su Han’s injuries were too severe for him to struggle to his feet.
The final blow had been delivered by the Great Emperor of Slaughter, directly shattering the time-space channel. That single strike would have killed Su Han if he hadn’t preemptively activated his strongest defenses, using the Nine Palace Golden Pagoda and several Holy Artifacts to protect himself.
He was lucky, though. Although the time-space channel was broken, he had already reached the edge of the Eastern Region. He then used the chaotic fluctuations from the channel’s collapse to propel himself out of the Eastern Region and successfully enter the Central Plains.
However, he had suffered grave injuries. There wasn’t an unharmed spot on his entire body. Moreover, the Great Emperor of Slaughter’s killing intent lingered inside him, causing indescribable pain.
"Secret of Healer!"
With no time to assess his surroundings, Su Han swiftly activated the Secret of Healer, hoping to recover.
However, his Secret of Healer was only at the Entry Level, so its restorative effect was limited. Furthermore, the corrosive killing intent left by the Great Emperor of Slaughter greatly diminished its healing capabilities.
Still, thanks to his Great Accomplished Holy Body and Great Luo Golden Body, the Secret of Healer managed to restore some of his strength. He could now struggle to his feet and had regained a slight ability to protect himself.
"Hmm?"
Su Han’s gaze swept over Li Mingliang and the others, and he instantly guessed their relationship.
"Where is this place?" Su Han asked, wanting to confirm his location.
He paid little mind to Li Mingliang’s group. They were merely in the Divine Power Realm; even heavily injured, he could deal with them easily.
"Senior, this is southern Ji State!" Li Mingliang answered quickly and respectfully.
Having adventured his whole life, he was rich with experience. Though he didn’t know who Su Han was, he understood that anyone capable of causing spatial distortion was no ordinary person. Only a Heavenly King Realm powerhouse could control Spatial Force. This young man might be just such an expert. As for his injuries, they were likely the result of being hunted by enemies—a common enough sight for him.
Yet, no matter how injured or pursued the young man was, he was clearly stronger than Li Mingliang himself. He and Qingyue were already in a desperate situation; things couldn’t get any worse. He didn’t care if he lived or died, but Qingyue had to survive. Latching onto this young man might be the only way to save her life, which was all that mattered to him.
Southern Ji State? Su Han was slightly startled. He hadn’t expected to arrive in the Central Plains’ Ji State despite the collapse of the time-space channel. It was a stroke of luck amid misfortune.
He had already seen through Li Mingliang’s intentions but didn’t hold it against him. As a newcomer to this place, he did indeed need a local to guide him.
"Esteemed Sir, I am Qin Fangming of the Fire Crow Sect, currently apprehending remnants of the Myriad Swords Sect. I beseech you, please do not interfere. My Fire Crow Sect will be sure to remember your kindness."
The man from the Fire Crow Sect had also composed himself. Li Mingliang and Li Qingyue were targets the sect leader had personally ordered to be killed. Although the young man before him was clearly extraordinary, he was also heavily injured. With his own strength, Qin Fangming felt he didn’t necessarily need to be afraid. However, the youth’s profound power at such a young age suggested a significant background. He therefore invoked the name of the Fire Crow Sect, hoping it would be enough to intimidate Su Han.
Even though the Fire Crow Sect was merely a third-rate power, it held some renown within a thousand-mile radius.
Remnants of the Myriad Swords Sect?
Su Han’s eyebrow twitched. He looked at Qin Fangming in surprise. He cared little for the Fire Crow Sect, but the name "Myriad Swords Sect" held a special significance for him.
The Tai Cang Sword God, who was associated with the Great Sun Sword Body, hailed from the Myriad Swords Sect. He had once voluntarily allowed himself to be devoured and refined, on the sole condition that Su Han would look after the Myriad Swords Sect.
Su Han was stunned for a moment. He never expected to encounter people from the Myriad Swords Sect so soon after arriving in the Central Plains. Judging by the situation, however, their circumstances were not good, or they wouldn’t be referred to as "remnants." Moreover, Li Mingliang and Li Qingyue were both quite weak.
It seems the Myriad Swords Sect has indeed declined.
"Are you from the Myriad Swords Sect?" Su Han turned his head, his gaze falling upon Li Mingliang and Li Qingyue. He could sense the unique sharpness characteristic of Sword Cultivators emanating from them.
"Eh!"
When Su Han looked at Li Qingyue, he was surprised to discover she possessed the Yin Sword Body. Although the Yin Sword Body did not rank highly on the list of Special Physiques, with a rank of over two thousand, it was a special constitution nonetheless and marked her as a natural-born Sword Cultivator.
It seemed that even in its decline, the Myriad Swords Sect was not without geniuses among its younger generation. However, Li Qingyue had not been properly cultivated, so her strength was low. Furthermore, her Yin Sword Body had not even reached the Entry Level and remained in an unawakened state.
"I am from the Myriad Swords Sect. She is my adopted granddaughter. If you hold a grudge against the Myriad Swords Sect, Senior, I am willing to bear the full responsibility. I only hope that you can spare her!" Li Mingliang gritted his teeth, uncertain if Su Han was friend or foe, and chose to sacrifice himself to save his granddaughter.
"Grandfather, I won’t go! Even if I have to die, I want to die with you!" Tears streamed down her beautiful face as Li Qingyue clung tightly to Li Mingliang. He was her only relative and her motivation for living. If her grandfather died, what meaning would there be in living alone in this world?
Su Han was slightly moved by their deep bond, but he didn’t believe them just yet.
"Have you ever heard the name Tai Cang?" he asked, deciding to test them.
Hearing his words, Li Mingliang looked up sharply, staring intently at Su Han. After a long moment, his voice trembled as he spoke.
"The Tai Cang Sword God was the third-generation Sect Master of our Myriad Swords Sect. Senior, may I ask where you heard this name?"
The Myriad Swords Sect’s legacy stretched back a hundred thousand years, and its leadership had been passed down to the one hundred and eighth generation. The Tai Cang Sword God was one of the sect’s past masters, but so much time had passed that most people no longer knew his name.
Li Mingliang’s words convinced Su Han for the most part. It seemed this bedraggled grandfather and granddaughter pair were indeed descendants of the Myriad Swords Sect.
"I have a history with the Myriad Swords Sect. Meeting you today must be fate. I’ll deal with this man first, then we can talk in detail."
Su Han nodded, confirming their identities, then turned his gaze to Qin Fangming.
Another one with the surname Qin. It seems that fate has its own intentions.
"Flee!"
Qin Fangming had heard every word of the conversation between Su Han and Li Mingliang, and his heart sank to the bottom of a ravine. Now, as Su Han’s gaze fell upon him, a sense of extreme danger washed over him. Without a moment’s hesitation, he turned to flee.
"One Sword Breaks Myriad Spells!"
Su Han formed a sword seal with his fingers, unleashing the Divine Method he had obtained from the Tai Cang Sword God. A streak of Sword Qi instantly shot out, slicing across Qin Fangming’s neck and killing him on the spot.
With a single slash, Qin Fangming was dead.
