When Leila heard what Liz said, her original expectations were shattered instantly.
But she caught Liz's last words and hurriedly spoke:
“I, we can pay.”
Liss smiled slightly upon hearing this:
"Alright, since Luo Xiu is a regular customer of mine, I'll give you a 30% discount on the treatment fee. I'll only charge you 4000 copper coins."
Leila's heart sank to the bottom.
She had been managing the ledgers, and even though she had earned 13 silver coins today, plus the four goblins in her magic pocket and some other miscellaneous items, it was still far from enough to make 4000 copper coins.
Even for myself, I can only fill the gap of 150 copper coins.
"Can I pay you back first?"
She asked in a trembling voice, clinging to her last glimmer of hope.
"Lis's Shop never defaults on payments."
Liz's words shattered even the last glimmer of hope.
Just when Leila was completely in despair.
Liz smiled and said:
"However, I value your potential more. I currently have a magical research project that requires orcs as experimental subjects. If you are willing to sell yourself to me, I can use you as collateral for 2000 copper coins."
"I can!!"
Without any hesitation, Leila immediately and excitedly replied.
She was overjoyed, never expecting to be worth so much money; her master was finally saved.
But the next second, she felt a light tap on the back of her head.
"That's a load of rubbish."
Luo Xiu's weak voice came from behind:
“You are mine. Who gave you permission to sell yourself?”
Then he looked at Liss and said softly:
"The second-tier healing spell skill book I ordered last time, Intermediate Healing, cost 1200 copper coins, payable now."
Chapter 17 LV.3 Basic Healing Spell
"Oh my, I didn't expect you to wake up, Luo Xiu. But let me warn you beforehand, even an intermediate-level healing spell will have a hard time healing your current injuries."
Liz smiled broadly:
"And it seems your cute little slave has already agreed to me, why don't you reconsider?"
“I am her master, she has no right to decide.”
Luo Xiu's voice was still very weak, almost inaudible:
"As for treatment, you don't need to worry, I should have a way."
"Ok."
Liz didn't pay much attention and turned back to the warehouse to get the magic book.
She knew that intermediate-level healing magic couldn't cure Luo Xiu's injuries, and it was only a matter of time before she bought Leila.
Besides, it allows us to make an extra deal, so why not?
After Liz left.
Luo Xiu looked at Leila beneath him, who had been frozen in place since he had slapped her, and smiled weakly:
"What's wrong? Did the punch make you stupid?"
Upon hearing these words, Leila beneath him seemed to have been turned on again.
She lowered her head and began to sob.
His whole body began to tremble uncontrollably.
Luo Xiu smiled, tilted his head down, and then reached out to gently lift Leila's face:
"Let me see who's crying."
Leila's face was already scrunched up from crying.
The moment she saw Luo Xiu's face, the tears she had held back all night finally burst forth, and she began to wail uncontrollably.
“Master…Master, Leila…Leila thought…Leila thought Master was going to die…Leila thought…Master didn’t want Leila anymore…”
She cried her heart out, her face covered in tears and snot.
In fact, she was worried and scared all night, feeling fearful and uneasy. Before meeting Luo Xiu, she was just an ordinary half-orc slave. She was afraid that she would not do well and that she would cause the person who was the best to her in the world to die.
Now, seeing that Luo Xiu was still alive, all that fear and unease was finally released.
This scene made Luo Xiu's heart clench.
He reached out and wiped away Leila's snot and tears, comforting her repeatedly:
"It's alright, it's alright now. Leila did a great job! Master is alright now..."
He pressed his head close to Leila's, lowered his eyelids, and whispered in her ear:
"Those who bully us, our master will make them pay the price."
"One day, no matter how dangerous the world becomes, no one will be able to bully us anymore."
A few minutes later,
Liz returned with two skill books in her hands.
She smiled as she looked at Leila, who had calmed down considerably, and Luo Xiu on her back:
"I hope I didn't disturb your sweet time together?"
Leila blushed upon hearing this, while Luo Xiu spoke up:
"Let's talk business, Miss Liz."
"Boring, oh so boring."
Liz pouted, then held up the two skill books in her hand, showing the covers to Luo Xiu:
"The one on the left is the intermediate healing spell you requested, and the one on the right is also a second-tier healing spell, a debuff spell, [Weakness]. Do you want it?"
"Also 1200 copper coins?"
Luo Xiu asked.
Liz shook her head:
"This one is more expensive, 1500."
"Next time."
Luo Xiu spoke:
"I'll buy the intermediate healing spell first. I might need to buy some equipment later."
Liz took the money from Leila, handed the intermediate healing spell skill book to Luo Xiu, and said with a smile:
"If you are looking to treat yourself, I can provide you with a free room to rest."
Luo Xiu glanced at Liss upon hearing this.
He knew that Liz still didn't believe he could cure her, fearing that he would die out there and miss out on the next big deal.
So he nodded:
"Thank you."
Leila carried Luo Xiu to the room that Lis had arranged. The room was small, with only a bed and a sofa inside.
Luo Xiu had Leila put him on the bed, and then, with a thought, the skill book in his hand turned into fragments and disappeared.
[A learnable second-tier healing skill has been detected. 20 skill points in the same direction will be automatically allocated. The skill's effect will be reflected in the next skill upgrade.]
[Basic Healing Spell LV. 2 → LV. 3]

[LV. 3 Basic Healing Spell: Can heal some common monster injuries, and can also heal some serious physical injuries. Skill effect enhancement: Can remove common poisons, and the healing effect is greatly enhanced, almost able to reattach severed limbs.]
[Points available: 2]
Seeing the effects of the upgraded healing spell, Luo Xiu was very satisfied. He then added the last two points to his own magic power.
Then, a basic healing spell was cast.
A warm and pure light emanated from the palm of my hand, filling the entire room.
Luo Xiu felt streams of warmth flowing into his body, rapidly repairing the damage and rebuilding the missing flesh.
This experience is quite magical, as if you can feel the growth and healing of flesh and blood.
A moment later, Luo Xiu sat up.
"Master, are you ready?"
Leila asked nervously.
Luo Xiu nodded.
"It should be almost done."
He stretched his arms out and felt no discomfort; in fact, he felt very energetic.
I got up and walked a couple of steps, and there were no problems. I confirmed that I had fully recovered.
Seeing her owner recover, Leila was overjoyed, her ears twitching incessantly.
The two walked out of the room together.
Liz, who was waiting outside the door, immediately came to greet her:
