Chapter 72 Causes Panic
Chapter 72 Causes Panic
The entire city was trampled mercilessly by this powerful energy, seemingly emanating from the depths of the universe and capable of reshaping stars. It was as if a monster the size of a mountain, from the primordial era, had ruthlessly trampled it. Skyscrapers crumbled before this force, turning into ruins; streets were blasted beyond recognition, the dust rising like a roaring sandstorm, blotting out the sun; the shockwave from the explosion spread outwards at a terrifying speed exceeding the speed of sound, mercilessly leveling everything in its path, wiping out both sturdy buildings and vibrant life in an instant.
Countless lives vanished in that fleeting, lightning-fast moment, while the survivors cried out in heartbreaking, desperate pleas for help amidst the ruins that resembled a living hell, plunging the entire city into an endless abyss of despair and darkness.
Standing to the side, Vegeta witnessed this human tragedy, a satisfied and smug smile on his face. He crossed his arms, his posture like that of a god who ruled the fate of the world, his eyes filled with arrogance and disdain, as if the lives of Earthlings were as insignificant as ants in his eyes. "This is the power of us Saiyans. These Earthlings are not worthy to fight us," Vegeta said in a condescending tone, his voice brimming with contempt for the Earthlings.
“That’s right, Your Highness, they are as insignificant as ants before us,” Naba said with a fawning expression, bowing slightly in an extremely respectful manner. “What should we do next?”
"Keep searching for those capable fighters. I want to see just how many exciting opponents there are left on this planet," Vegeta said coldly, a bloodthirsty glint in his eyes, as if anticipating an even fiercer battle.
This sudden, apocalyptic disaster spread rapidly like a plague, becoming headline news on major television stations around the world. In the live news studio of one television station, anchor Emily was nervously reporting the event to the camera, barely suppressing her fear and trembling.
"Dear viewers, we have an emergency news briefing! Just a few minutes ago, our city was attacked by an unidentified object. A huge unidentified flying object landed in the city center, triggering a series of explosions and destruction. We have lost contact with the affected area, and the casualties are still unclear. But judging from the footage from the scene, the situation is extremely critical; it's a nightmare!" Emily's voice trembled noticeably. Although she tried her best to remain calm, the fear in her eyes was overwhelming and overflowing.
The camera switched to aerial footage of the disaster site, revealing a scene of utter devastation, as if the world had abandoned it. Viewers were deeply shocked. The once bustling city was now a ruin, with smoke rising from the rubble. Countless lives and hopes lay buried beneath the ruins, and people's hearts were filled with endless fear and sorrow.
"Could this be a terrorist attack? Or have aliens really landed on Earth?" Emily asked, her brow furrowed and her eyes filled with confusion and worry. "We will continue to monitor the development of this incident. Please do not panic and stay in a safe place as much as possible."
In another corner of the city, Master Roshi was comfortably lying on his quiet island, basking in the warm sunshine, with a cup of fragrant tea steaming beside him. Bulma, Lanfang, Oolong, and Pull were nearby, enthusiastically fiddling with some strange inventions.
"Hey, why does the ground suddenly feel like it's shaking in broad daylight?" Wulong looked up in confusion, his round head darting around with puzzled eyes.
"I wonder, could it be some kind of large-scale construction project somewhere?" Poole chimed in, his small ears twitching slightly as if trying to catch more information.
Bulma frowned slightly, a sense of foreboding washing over her. She quickly turned on her laptop, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she searched for news reports. When she saw the television news about the UFO attack on the city, her face turned deathly pale, as if all the blood had been drained from her veins in an instant.
"This...this is no ordinary event, it's possible that the Saiyans have arrived!" Bulma exclaimed in terror, her voice filled with despair and her eyes brimming with fear.
Upon hearing this, Lan Fang's relaxed expression vanished instantly. She immediately stood up, her expression turning serious and solemn. "The Saiyans? They've finally come."
"What should we do? Goku hasn't come back yet!" Bulma said anxiously, tears welling up in her eyes, tears that contained fear of the unknown fate and longing for Goku.
"Don't panic, we need to figure out what's going on first," Master Roshi said, standing up. Although he was also filled with worry, he knew he had to remain calm, otherwise things would descend into even greater chaos. "Bulma, can you find anyone else? Like Yamcha or Krillin?"
Bulma nodded, quickly took out her battle power detector, and began trying to locate Yamcha and Krillin. However, after a series of beeps, no information was received.
“I can’t find them. They’re probably too far away,” Bulma said anxiously, her hand continuing to fiddle with the combat power detector as if it were her last hope.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on Earth, Vegeta and Nappa were searching for targets using their newer, more technologically advanced battle power detectors. The detectors displayed battle power values from various locations across the planet. When they discovered several targets with battle power exceeding 1000, a flicker of excitement flashed in Vegeta's eyes—an excitement mingled with a thirst for battle and an expectation of encountering stronger opponents.
"Looks like there are still some powerful guys on this planet," Vegeta sneered, a cruel smile playing on his lips.
"Which one should we go to first?" Naba asked, a hint of confusion in his eyes.
“Find the strongest one first. These inferior beings aren’t worth our time.” Vegeta said, fixing his gaze on the direction of Piccolo and Gohan, guided by the scouter. His eyes revealed a resolute and ruthless expression, as if Piccolo and Gohan were merely two stumbling blocks on his path to conquering Earth.
"Hmph, no matter who you are, don't even think about stopping me, Vegeta. After I kill you all, I'll go find the Dragon Balls." Vegeta muttered to himself, then flew towards his target with Nappa, leaving behind only ruins and panicked people. On that land, fear and despair shrouded every life like a dark cloud, and the fate of Earth was pushed to the brink of collapse at this moment.
