Chapter 13 The Divine Stone Tablets, The Prometheus Manual
Chapter 13 The Divine Stone Tablets, The Prometheus Manual
"Zeberin?"
Upon hearing the name, Erica jumped up in an exaggerated manner.
"Are you referring to Baron Zeppeli, the great magician of Sardinia?"
"Why!"
"If it's his divine grimoire, why did it end up in your hands?"
Erica couldn't figure it out even after thinking about it a thousand times, and Pepper could only make limited guesses.
"I don't know either, but the Stark family has always had a great passion for collecting all sorts of strange artworks from around the world since they were young."
"It seems very likely that this stone slab on Sardinia was also part of a previous collection."
"Oh, what a spendthrift young master!"
Erica had an "I knew it" look on her face, which left Pepper feeling helpless.
"A spoiled young lady like you has no right to say that."
"I don't care! Seriously though, how long am I supposed to wait? Why isn't the tram here yet?!"
Erica looked around, but there was no one else in the entire station except for Pepper and her.
"That's why I said don't take the tram!"
Pepper nodded in agreement as she watched the girl suddenly become willful.
That's more like it!
This aligns perfectly with Pepper's stereotypes about many high-society ladies.
"It's decided."
"As a Grand Knight of the Copper Black Cross, I can't just leave the grimoire alone. I could have easily taken it from you by threatening you with my sword right now. You should be grateful for your good fortune in meeting someone as courteous as me."
"So I've decided to go with you to find Baron Zeppeli."
"Pretty good, right?!"
Erica's smug announcement made Pepper laugh.
"I wonder who almost became an Italian thief before."
"I can warn you in advance that you'd better not do that, because if you're not careful, you'll trigger this little thing's extermination mode."
As Pepper spoke, he pointed to the Stark drone that was flashing a blue indicator light, which immediately piqued Erica's curiosity.
"Annihilation mode?"
Erica squinted and leaned closer, tapping and banging on the small ball.
"I can't see anything special about it at all."
……
Sardinia, Emerald Coast.
About half a century ago, this place was a forgotten place until a wealthy man was attracted by the view of the sea breeze meeting the rocky shore and began to settle there, which made it widely known.
creak~
A screeching sound of brakes rang out, and the red Opel Astra drifted around a bend, barely coming to a stop at the entrance of the manor.
The battered license plate crashed to the ground with a thud, the hood flew off the spot, and the engine finally gave way, belching black smoke and ceasing operation.
"Ha, I thought I was going to die."
Pepper had never been in such a hurry to get out of the car, and she staggered as she struggled out of the back seat.
"Ariana's only shortcomings as a maid are driving and cooking."
Do not!
Pepper disagrees with this one point.
No one would consider a death race a flaw, and it's certainly not something a maid would do.
"This must be Baron Zeppeli's manor. It doesn't look particularly special."
Erica's voice brought Pepper back to her senses, and she began to observe the mansion in front of her.
Without a doubt, Pepper has seen countless estates, and there are more than a hundred simply registered under Tony's name.
However, if it is associated with terms such as "Great Magician", "Disobedient God", and "Grimoire", etc.
So...
"It is indeed a bit ordinary."
"I'm so sorry, it's really my fault for making such a comment from a lady."
? !
When the sound came, Pepper and Erica, along with the maid, realized that there was someone on the highest roof of the manor building.
"Ms. Pepper Potts, I have been waiting for your arrival until now."
The man in the white tuxedo and square-patterned hat casually stroked his mustache.
With an extremely elegant jumping posture, he flipped down from the highest point.
It spun 180 degrees in the air, its figure seemingly radiating dazzling light under the sunlight.
He landed steadily at the entrance of the manor, right in front of Pepper and the others.
"Greetings from William Antonio Zeppeli!"
Pepper Potts witnessed the strange magician's entrance and earned a small amount of Mischief Points.
……
"The Prometheus Manual, as promised, has indeed returned to Sardinia."
In the manor's drawing room, Pepper finally learned the slate's true name.
"The one who should have been entrusted with this stone tablet was Tony Stark, but instead it is you, Ms. Pepper Potts, who has come."
Tony?!
He wouldn't come to Sardinia for something like that, and in fact, neither would Pepper.
If it's not a change in the work log, then the flight is incorrect.
So, is it just a coincidence?!
"It's no coincidence."
"It was a predetermined outcome; everything just happened naturally."
Baron Zeppelin tapped the table.
On the table was a Time magazine with Pepper's latest photo on the cover.
And the title is...
"The helmsman of Stark Industries, a true hero leading the world!"
"Your destiny will be changed once again because you will be able to meet the gods who have appeared on this island."
"That is the answer."
Pepper fell silent in response to Baron Zeppelin's statement, while Erica could no longer bear it.
"Feed..."
"Wait a minute, young lady, who are you? You don't look like you're from New York."
Baron Zeppelin looked as if he had only just noticed Erica's performance.
"Erica Blantri, the Grand Knight of the Copper Black Cross, the well-known Crimson Demon, and I travel with her by chance."
Erica proudly announced her name.
"Ah, a magician and a knight, that's already strange enough, but to have both titles at the same time makes you seem like a fool."
"Even computer games don't have a setting like yours!"
! !
What an outrageous statement!
For a moment, Pepper even thought Erica would explode on the spot, but to her surprise, the willful young lady actually held back.
"I came here for the Divine Age Grimoire. What should I do with such a crucial item?!"
Please give me a serious answer.
Erica pointed to the Prometheus Manual on the table.
"The secret to attracting disaster, if not handled properly, will attract endless prying eyes."
Baron Zeppelin picked up the slate and examined it carefully before suddenly throwing the question at Pepper.
"Madam, before you came here, who else besides her did you meet?"
"No, I haven't seen anyone..."
Under Baron Zeppelin's gaze, Pepper first shook her head subconsciously, then realized what was happening.
"I met a boy once, but he spoke in a very strange way."
"Then you're all right. Here you go."
Baron Zeppelin smiled and pushed the slate back to Pepper.
"Wait a minute, she's a complete novice when it comes to magic!"
Erica completely lost her composure at this point.
She didn't deny that Pepper had been a very nice person all along, but...
How could such an important grimoire of the Age of Gods be handed over to someone who doesn't even understand magic?
"This is an echo of fate, a wish that God would leave in this woman's hands."
"impossible!"
"Chance is also inevitability; all the threads will eventually connect. That's fate, don't you understand?"
"How could anyone understand that such a valuable grimoire from the Age of Gods was handled in such a foolish way?!"
Now that's right, Pepper is holding the stone slab, watching helplessly as Erica explodes with rage.
"Haha, don't rush."
"The only reason that could bring a genius girl from a prestigious magic family to this rural area must be for the sake of the God of Disobedience. I must say, you have quite the drive to get things done."
Baron Zeppelin looked out the window, and a clap of thunder struck, turning the light rain into a torrential downpour.
Sardinia, an island that never sees rain, is now shrouded in a storm.
As he watched Erica storm out in anger, Baron Zeppelin spoke to Pepper.
"Unfortunately, one cannot defeat the gods with mere courage."
"And what's more, it's a war of the gods!"
