Chapter 40 The Auction Reopens - Part 3
Chapter 40 The Auction Reopens - Part 3
There's a very interesting concept in the Marvel universe: when developing technologically advanced products that are ahead of their time, or when trying to create superhuman soldiers, things almost always get out of control, resulting in either new tragic superheroes or new tragic supervillains.
Even if things were to succeed by sheer luck, it would trigger a series of major events, causing significant losses and heavy casualties.
Vega also knew that warning these people about the "Carnivorous" Earth was unlikely to be very effective, and might even have the opposite effect, or bring him new trouble.
Kindness is a wonderful quality for ordinary people, but for some people present, every positive quality is a sharp blade in their hands.
So many years have passed, how come I still can't let go of that little bit of kindness I had as an ordinary person in my past life?
Oh well, what's done is done, so I'll just consider it a way to put my mind at ease.
As Vega expected, the room erupted in noise after he finished watching the video footage and listening to his words.
Many people are questioning the authenticity of those images and videos, questioning the existence of other universes, and questioning how he got to that Earth!
They questioned everything, and they demanded that Vega provide conclusive evidence that would convince them!
Video footage can be faked, and oral accounts are even less reliable. Only by letting them go to that Earth themselves will they believe that Vega was not lying!
Despite having anticipated this outcome, Vega was still amused and shook his head helplessly: "Just take it as me lying."
Vega knew what these people were up to. Even if Earth hadn't recovered, he wouldn't take them there.
He admitted to lying, but those who were secretly plotting against him were not happy. They actually stood on the moral high ground and accused Vega of being cold-blooded, ruthless, and inhuman.
Vega sneered: "He has a pile of shit on his own butt and he's all eager to help others."
I know exactly what you're thinking. You just want to plunder Earth's resources, right? Forget it, I'm not taking you to that Earth.
"There weren't many living people on that Earth, but the other worlds of the Nine Realms and the entire universe were unaffected."
What, you didn't get enough of the invasion war that just ended? Want an even more exciting intergalactic war?
"The number of superhumans on that Earth is dozens or even hundreds of times that of us, and there are dozens of them with strength similar to Thor."
Guess how powerful the other worlds in the Nine Realms are? How much stronger is the overall power of that universe compared to ours?
"Ha, if you really want to do good deeds, bid higher later. This auction is to raise funds to help the more than 30 million people affected by the invasion war."
Ignoring the grim faces of the people, Vega raised his right hand and swept it across the auction stage, where a box appeared: "Alright, it's getting late, let's begin the auction."
Because many people were participating for the first time, Vega explained the rules once, then opened the box and said, "First up, we'll be auctioning various potions. There are a lot of people this time, so you can bid on potions one at a time. The types, effects, and quantities of potions are all available on the computer, and the bidding will also take place on the computer. Let's begin. The bidding time is 10 minutes."
After Vega finished speaking, Monica put the potion up for auction on the auction platform. Those who were still unwilling to accept the outcome and wanted to argue could only shut up for the time being and start getting busy.
Having experienced this invasion, everyone has placed even greater emphasis on these miraculous potions.
Vega offered a very small quantity of potions this time, but there were many more bidders, and the quantity limit was removed, so the competition was fierce, and the auction price soared.
Most superhumans are extremely poor. Even those who have connections with the government and receive high salaries are shocked by the skyrocketing prices of each bottle of potion, which can cost hundreds of thousands of US dollars.
Captain America, Steve Rogers, wasn't authorized to participate in the official auction. He awkwardly used the mouse to check the effects of each potion, and realizing he couldn't afford even one, he released the mouse, turned to Thor, and whispered, "Thor, are there really other universes?"
"Yes," Thor nodded, took a sip of beer, and continued, "He's right. Large-scale entry into other universes would be considered an invasion, and it would lead to war."
Steve Rogers: "Is peaceful coexistence impossible?"
"Impossible." Thor shook his head, and seeing that many people were eavesdropping, he deliberately raised his voice to explain, "Putting everything else aside, frequent communication between the two universes would cause them to keep getting closer to each other, and eventually collide and destroy each other."
Tony Stark quoted a price far exceeding others, then turned and asked, "How did you know? Do you also have the ability to travel to other universes?"
Thor: "This is common knowledge among all the gods. We don't have a way to leave this universe, but we can always find a way to leave."
Tony Stark asked, puzzled, "If you can control it at any time, why not just create it? Aren't you curious about what other universes are like?"
Thor shook his head: "Not curious."
The various divine races have a deep understanding of the multiverse, and some divine races can even find ways to leave their own universe and travel to other universes.
But almost no one does this because it is very dangerous.
It wasn't just the fear of triggering wars and collisions between universes; there was a more important reason, but that was a secret of the gods, one he would never reveal.
Steve Rogers: "If what Lee said is true, wouldn't his going to that Earth have a negative impact on both of our universes?"
Saul: "I don't know, but the impact shouldn't be significant. He should be aware of these taboos."
High-ranking U.S. officials told him that Vega possessed a secret passage to Nidavellir and that Vega was connected to Michael.
He was certain that there was no heaven, no God, and no angels in this universe. He didn't know whether other universes had them, since the differences between universes were enormous.
Considering that Vega suddenly appeared on Earth ten years ago, he guessed that Vega probably didn't come from this universe.
The universe is not closed; there are other universes in the universe, and as long as they don't cause any trouble, no one cares about them.
Vega had connections with the dwarves, a fact his father had known for a long time, but his father had tacitly approved of it.
He didn't know why his father had acquiesced; perhaps it was because Vega hadn't harmed the dwarves, or perhaps it was because Vega's abilities were special.
His father had tacitly approved, so he wouldn't interfere. What he wanted most now was to retrieve the Tesseract, repair the Bifrost, and find his troublesome brother, Loki.
